you go green. good morning. i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. the case of the muni driver has taken a strange turn. why she is still on the job and what's happening today. >> when we last heard about this driver, muni said what happened nobody knows. muni is confirming that the driver is not only working but still on the job. they've been talking to people and so far only talked to one of the drivers. he didn't defend while driving on the job. he said sometimes drivers have emergencies. this shows a muni operator. a passenger reported the

incidents. eventually the muni driver was suspended for three days. following that, they said they would move to fire that driver. the chief of operations said he would seek to have that happen today. according to a contract the firing might take longer. before pan operator is terminated, the operator shall have the right to be heard and the right to face his or her accusers and scheduled at a time that the witnesses can attend. they realize how serious the offense is. in another accident 16 people hurt. texting while driving wasn't ill local until january the following year. that driver was fired from that incident. we reached union officials.

we're supposed to speak to him this morning. kraig debro reporting for ktvu 2 news. oakland police are searching for the suspect in an overnight shoot being at a gas station. it happened at 73rd and bancroft. at least one gunman started shooting and wounded two people. both victims are expected to survive. witnesses saw several gunmen running from that scene. so far, police have made no arrest. san francisco police are busy looking for a man who exposed himself to one woman and assaulted another. they believe one man is responsible for both attacks even though the sketches appear to be different. both happened last saturday about 2 a.m. police say the man first exposed

himself to a woman. minutes later he followed another woman into the lobby of her apartment on carl street and began sexual assaults her, but she was able to fight him off. >> a new medical marijuana dispensary is open in antioch. some people who work next door say the pot shot is nothing -- is not a good neighbor. they are complaining about the smell and smoke . tigertreasury sect tim geithner took some time off. his daughter is a student at stanford. he said he didn't realize at

first who the stud was. the instructor said it's kind of cool that the treasury secretary is a surfer. recent shark deaths have caught the eye of researchers. leopard sharks have been found dead. they were found in bay front lagune. researchers say the deaths may be caused by an infection. the deaths include both juvenile and adult sharks. researchers say there have been several large dieoffs in the past five years. a series of collisions caused a traffic jam after a car rolled into the freeway. this started about 12:30 yesterday on northbound highway 101. a 73-year-old man stopped his car on the shoulder of the road, wasn't feeling well, and got out, but the car drifted across

those stations are inside the public park garage at c and third street in san rafael. drivers won't have to pay for the electricity that you use, but you do have to pay a dollar an hour to park in that garage. a company is celebrating earth day with a unique type of fuel. that could save drivers from sky high gas prices. claudine wong has more. good morning. >> reporter: the biodiesel looks like this what it comes from is actually cooking oil. this morning we're out here because for the first time they're letting people come here and get it straight from the source. they produce it here, the only bay area ability and you can drive up to get it. they go around and collect it in this truck. we'll show you what it looks like when they get it.

it's basic cooking oil that you find in a restaurant or anything like that. they go around pick it up, process it. it takes about four days and it's something you can put in your diesel truck. you've been telling us how the process works. demand is high. you're offering it for $4.15. >> we're actually set up today to fuel all vehicles directly from our plant. so people can come down. we're at 49 and san lee andrew. >> reporter: you've been around for a couple of years. why now?

more than 100,000 illegal immigrants were jailed in scale in 2009 it. cost more to house an inmate in california than other states. here in california it's $34,000 a year. in texas it's only 12,000. california has repeatedly tried to get more federal reimbursement to cover the cost. florida pastor terry jones, a very controversial pastor will stage a protest outside of a mosque. that's after a mishap with his own gun. police were called to the parking lot of a detroit news station after pastor jones accidently discharged his gun. they say that gunshot went into the floor board of the car. luckily no one was hurt. you may remember pastor jones is the pastor who set fire to a copy of the koran last month. that incited deadly riots in

nuclear power and weapons, but organizers say that there is a special significance this year because of the ongoing nuclear disaster in japan in which several reactors were damaged after that country's devastating earthquake and tsunami last month. the deep sierra snow pack could make northern california reservoirs and rivers especially dangerous this year. when all that snow melts it will make rivers cold, fast and treacherous. experts are reminding boaters to always use life jackets and that cold water can make you tired more easily. texas governor rick perry is asking people to turn to their faith in an evident to bring relief from massive wildfires. wildfires have burned more than 1 1/2 million acres. now the governor is asking people to pray for rain this weekend to help ease the flames.

nearby. recent shark deaths that caught the high of bay area researchers. six lepard sharks have been found in pay front lagoon in redwood city. experts say the deaths may be caused by some kind of infection or toxic discharge. the deaths include both juvenile and adult sharks. researchers say there have been several large dieoffs of sharks in the last five years. in san rafael a car without a driver rolled across the freeway causing several collisions. it started about 12:30 p.m. on highway 101 near smith ranch road. a 73-year-old man stopped the car and got out. he didn't put it in park so it drifted across the freeway. two other cars slowed down to avoid it but one of those cars was rear ended by a 17-year-old

girl who was reading a text message while driving in the fast lane. san francisco police are lacking an important tool when it comes to fare cheats. the examiner reports most officers don't have the necessary scanners needed to check passenger clipper cards to make sure commuters are not riding for free. they are working to get scanners, but the agency admits it does not have a timetable for that. the examiner reports that transit ascreen sigh has reported a five-year program that with raise fares every year for five years. the final decision is expected to be made today. officials say the fare hikes are needed to close an $89 million deficit projected over the next five years.

gasoline prices, as you know, keep going up, but an east bay company this morning said they may have a solution and this one involves cooking oil. ktvu's claudine wong has a look at some possible savings. >> reporter: they go to restaurants and place using cooking oil, get them from the fryers and turn them into fuel. after that they sell it to retailers and distributors. that gets out to you. they've got the table set up, cones set up. they want people to go directly to the plant, buy it from here as a way to save money. biodiesel has been around. it's been as expensive or more expensive than regular diesel. now it's saving -- changing.
