bus rider that recognized her behind the wheel. >> reporter: for the second time in a month a nummi l train is caught on cell phone video speeding through a tunnel with its door open. the man who shot this video would not talk to us on camera but says passengers were stunned when the train left the station with the door wide open. another train that left a station with the door open got the train operator fired. >> we're still looking at the video today. >> reporter: nummi officials are also at a loss today to explain why this bus driver was allowed to work thursday after being caught on cell phone video last february texting while driving. >> right now we're looking as to why she was there yet.

the bottom line is she shouldn't have been. the man who recorded the texting video reported seeing her behind the wheel again. when the driver showed up to work yet again this morning she was escorted off the site and terminated. nummi officials are now investigating who called her in to work. >> she's not employed, because it's a personal matter there's not a lot of details at this point. >> reporter: the union that represented that nummi driver did not offer any comment today. david stevenson. the golden gate transit district's board boarded unanimously today to raise fares on buses and ferries. the increases begin july 1st. in marin county adult fares will go up 5%.

seniors and disabled fares will be -- >> reporter: a new report today shows so called criminal aliens in california prisons went up 17% from 2003 to 2009. the bill for taxpayers in 2008 was $1.1 billion. the government accountability office estimates that california spends $34,000 on each criminal alien every year. that's almost three times as much as texas. this mother is under arrest. police say she left her 3-year- old daughter in her car while she went gambling last night. police found the little girl in the parked car and they found the mother inside the garden city casino in san jose. the mother is charged with child endangerment. a google executive who's credited with helping ignite the uprising in egypt is in the bay area today visiting a

number of high tech companies. gonan recently topped the list of most influential people. we talked to him today and he said he was surprised at that honor. >> it's something that i'm not like, i was not looking for. and i think that the most important thing is the cause. the cause is the hero and the cause is to get rid of a bad regime. >> reporter: he used facebook to organize millions of the egyptians in demonstrations that overdrew mubarack this morning. his focus knew is helping egypt's people start over. >> i would say the guy standing up facing us, without any weapon. seeing a life threatening risk. if he's a good engineer then probably he can start a business. >> reporter: he is in the bay area to get technology assistance for egypt. tonight he will be in stanford to talk about egypt's uprising

analysts. among business leaders top concerns. >> the issues that are important in the boardroom are equally important in the living room. what are the top issues? housing that people can afford. a good transportation system. quality k-12 and higher education system. with the state facing a $26 billion shortfall and proposed cuts. companies worry if the future generation is being prepared. >> in order to turn out the engineers that companies that my company needs, other companies need adds well. other companies hire technical people. we need to have basic math and science. >> reporter: 20,000 companies added jobs and more than half expect more job growth this year. >> that's all business invasion. i want to encourage that and whatever they need from government i want to make sure they get it. but ceos say in order to do long term investments in california they need to know what's happening with the

family. and the lieutenant governor newsom announces his run for governor. we caught up with newsom at a dedication ceremony for the news soleria headquarters for fremont. newsom was asked how much he is getting paid for his book which is due out in 2013 but he would not say. the fbi just released photos of a gunman who held people hostage in a bank. the first is of a man who ordered everybody to get on the floor when they burst into a bank on fremont. the second shows a man getting out of a black nissan that was used as the get away vehicle moments later. both wore hoodies and bandanas over their faces. anyone who has seen those robbers is urged to call the fbi right away.

a job fair for veterans this earth day was fittingly focused on green technology. job seekers fill filed into skyline college this morning to learn about jobs in electric vehicle production. recruiters from palo alto based tesla were on hand for the event. attendees also got to test drive fuel efficient models. in its summer electricity forecast, the california commission says its confident there'll be more than enough power to to go around thanks to more solar and wind technology. the increase is a sign of an improving economy say officials. and some school children
