. we're taking a second look tonight at royal wedding nearly 30 years ago of lady diana and prince charles. shortly before they were married the soon to be married couple sat down for an interview. >> the most difficult thing is trying to work out how you can have a family life, as well as all the public demands that there are. trying to get involved in too many thing and dashing about is going to be my problem, trying to control that. and so we can have a proper family life. it isn't easy. there is much to be done. >> do you have any particular interests? >> i would say children. >> reporter: are you looking

forward to making a home? >> oh, yes, very much so. i want to be a good wife. >> reporter: are you a good cook, by the way? >> i have done cooking courses, yes. i would say i'm average, but you haven't tasted anything. [ laughter ] >> reporter: for those of a certain age of marriage of charles and diana was a reminder of a royal wedding 34 years earlier, the marriage of charles parents elizabeth and phillip in 1947. that wedding came at a time of great suffer and great hope in england. world war ii ended only years before and the austerity and rationing had not yet endedment food was in short supply and so was gasoline and much of london showed the scars of bombings that the country endured of the so the major was a rare, bright spot for a nation looking for

as we look forward to the marriage of england's prince william and kate mid-ton, we have looked back at other royal weddings and while others have taken place with great ceremony, one took place quietly in 2005, the marriage of prince charles to his long time lover, camila boules. the queen mother did not attend the private ceremony, but attended a ceremony afterwards. here is the report from 2005. >> reporter: at long last, prince charles married long time love camila parker bowles in a private civil ceremony before a religious blessing by the archbishop of canterbury. an impressive guest list of 750, including the queen and

ktvu's mikemy bach followed them on their visit in 2005. >> reporter: a warm reception for a royal couple. the pring of wales and duchess of cornwall on their first trip abroad since their wedding. first stop toward, point reyes where they spent an hour shaking hands and testing produce. the royal couple also ventured into the town's local pub where they sat down to have a pint of beer of the just after 2:00 this afternoon they ventured in the town where they made their way to the organic farm of warren weber. >> he is a farmer and he is just a supporter of organic farming. he is interested, i know, in farms and the context of and the environment. >> reporter: weber says it was prince charles who wanted to see his west marin farm, the oldest organic farm in the state of california.

while they escorted the royal couple through their 40 acres of crop talking about organic farming, swarms of people were standing by anxiously it get a quick glimpse of the royal couple. they of prince charles begin farming organically 20 years ago and today his products bring tens of millions of dollars in a year, which of which he turns over to charity. weber says there is a special bond between the two men. >> i think there is a certain respect we all have for each other. >> reporter: tucked away in the small marin county town is this home, converted in a church in the 1950ez and today st. colombo hosted the couple they were participating just as someone else who was a member

at the church. they said they both received communion and after the service, both signed the church's guest book on the walk to the car, he signed one more book. >> he said where did i get it? >> i said i have it ever since i was a little girl. >> reporter: she hold out a children's book authored by prince charles who signed and dated it. >> it's hard to believe that someone would come to our church out in the countryside and he and his wife are just really special people and just a really humble person. >> reporter: prince charles and cammiala left 20 minutes after the service came to an end, but the snapshots and memories that these parishioners will keep with them for the rest of their lives and remember that wet november day when the royal couple came to visit their small west marine county town. you can see william and kate's royal wedding live on ktvu channel 2 this friday

as england prepares for the marriage this friday of william and kate, we have been take a second look back at british royal weds and one of them occurred in 1923. it was the marriage of lady elizabeth to prince albert, younger brother. it was buy the book. coaches carried the groom and braid to their ceremony at westminster abbey and a few blocks to buckingham palace for the royal reception and would have been a footnote wedding if not for the event ten years later in january 1936 albert's older brother became king edward and less than a year later gave up his crown to marry an american divorceee and

nest in line, albert game king gore vi and his wife, the duchess of york became queen consort of atlantic and his daughters elizabeth and margaret became princesses. with his wife's encouragement, he ore came a debilitating speech impediment to rally his country. >> how to the nation has made a splendid effort towards recovery, new burdens have fallen upon it and dark clouds still overhang the whole world. yet, this is no time for despondcy. for i see this festival as a symbol of britain's abiding courage and vitality. >> flight world war ii the royal family would become a
