supporters say the admission by the judge in the case that he is in a relationship with another man is giving them grounds for an appeal. the judge struck it down last year. a lawyer says he should have removed himself from the e the into question his bit. he said it is not a reason to be disqualified from a case. new details about the shooting that killed two and injured two. the shooting happened this morning at sweet jimmie's between second and third. ktvu's john sasaki is here with what he learned from an eyewitness, police and relatives from one of the victims. >> reporter: that is the spot where someone opened fire with a weapon and cut down six people. this afternoon i talked with the family of one victim who

was shot in the head. this morning someone opened fired a sweet jimmie's. two people are dead and four others injured. we found a witness. >> i heard the shotgun. i think he had white on. >> reporter: how many shots? >> six. the victims, a 26-year-old man who is in serious condition. >> find out what we have been told, random, somebody goes in the club, shoots it up. >> reporter: he is a close family friend. he is calling to an end to violence. >> the family that is not raising them, giving them morals, that's the issues. >> reporter: investigators still trying to find the gunman. sources say this is not a case

be accidental. it started at 12:15 this morning. firefighters put it out in 40 minutes. three people were treated. a neighbor rescued one of those trapped by the fire. >> then i -- i carry him. because he is in the top floor. go down. and the door cannot open. no -- no -- no lie. i saw the smoke and fire. >> investigators estimate the damage at $1.5 million. six people were unable to return to their apartments. >> new information tonight about the massive number of fish killed as a result of a huge warehouse fire. ktvu's robert handa live to tell us if there is any permanent damage. >> reporter: there is some good news to report on the condition. as you walk around the water

the same church where two earns were taken back in early march. the other earn was recovered last month. they were inside a back pack and police speculate the thief might have taken the back pack not knowing what was in it. muni investigators decided last week's incident was caused by human error. a rider posted this video friday on youtube. when the door wouldn't close at the station the operator should have used a pin to secure it and notify the control center. the door reopened while the train was in motion. the operator is on non-driving status. joe the jet perry died. he played 14 years with the 9ers. 1948-1960 and 1963.

in half moon bay. joining us is a sergeant from the chp. tell us what happened. >> 4:30 we received a call of gas drifting across the roadway and lanes of highway 92, we determined that it is some type of gas main that has broken. now right public works, pg&e and caltrans trying to figure out how to find the location and fix it. >> how dangerous is this? >> well, it's extremely dangerous that's why we shut down all lanes in both directions. having natural gas on the roadway could cause serious problems. it's a huge concern for public safety. so we will keep the lanes closed till they are able to find out where the break has taken placed and get that

fixed. so please take alternate routes. >> at this point, they don't know exactly where the break is? have they been able to shut off the gas yet? >> well, i am not sure if they have been able to shut off the gas. i would like to say, given the amount of time, they probably have. the biggest concern is determined where the leak is taking place. they have a crew working on that right now, three different agencies working very hard. this is truly a huge concern for public safety. >> we all know what happened in san bruno. right now we have live pictures, showing the back up of folks stuck there as a result of the closure there of 92. again, we all know what happened in san bruno, is this potentially the same type of thing that could happen? >> well, you know, this is truly something i would have to

say is beyond my area. when you are dealing with notcheral gas that's always a huge concern. there was a lot of lessons learned from the san bruno incident. it's hard for me to comment on the level of severity but i must say it is severe enough to shut down the freeway in both directions. we know that you know, the end result could be tragic if it isn't handled properly. >> this area isn't in the middle of a neighborhood. are you familiar with thought area and are we talking about houses and businesses in the area or is it as we see, wooded terrain? >> yeah. right now it appears as though the freeway is the only area of concern at the moment. as the crews are able to get in there and get a closer look and determine if any homes or

made erin brockovich famous. caltrans is taking no chances it might have a toxic tunnel. >> quick action and quick fix are keeping the tunnel project on schedule. >> reporter: the water that drains contained high levels of chromium 6. >> could be carson carcinogenic. >> can be from natural sources and industrial sources. >> while it is sometimes hard to find, in this case they found it almost immediately and they were able to take care of it with few delays. >> we determined that it came from the concrete. >> reporter: caltrans shut the project down temporarily. >> 5 working days, as a precaution to make sure there is no danger. >> it's gratifying to see a

new information on the gas leak in san mateo county that shut down highway 92 in both directions. tom vacar just got off the phone with pg&e. tom? >> reporter: just got off the phone with pg&e, one of the spokes people there. he says that it was a distribution line a lower pressure line that brings gas from the transition line into places like where the break occurred and it occurred near a garden supply store in half moon bay. pg&e trucks are there. the gas has been valved off. there is no more gas seeping. because gas is odorless they put a chemical in it, a rotten egg smelling thing, that will linger in the air for some time

but the leak has been done. this is from david who says not a transmission line, but a distribution line a local line, which is now capped and under control. we will have more on this as soon as we get more. we should have that soon. back to you. >> can i ask you a quick question, people get nervous when they hear gas leak, does this information mean the danger is over? the potentially danger is over? >> reporter: the source of the -- the feeding source is off. can it be there could be gas that gathered inner inside of a store room or structure, that is a possibility depending on how much leaked. unless there is a pilot light to set off a fire, the problem is pretty much open -- pretty much over. we have confirmation that route 92 is open. even the chp feels there no
