comments at a giants game. what baseball's commissioner is promising to do this morning. the morning news continues. thursday april 28th. i'm pam cook. >> i'm dave clark. let's check weather and traffic. here's steve. thank you, pal and dave. we have partly cloudy skies, cooler, breezy, maybe windy at times along the coast one day. comes down as the system digs in. late in the season but that's giving us a hint of cooler weather. that means temperatures 50 and more 60s today instead of the low 70s although a couple of them will be around. here's sal. steve, right now traffic on interstate 680 looks good heading away from pleasanton down towards san jose. also this morning we're looking at a live picture of interstate 880 in front of oakland right here oakland coliseum traffic is moving well. it's 6:00. let's go back to the desk.

at this hour we're getting new details about a violent confrontation between a homeless man and a dublin police sergeant. that homeless man is now dead. that officer's in the hospital but is expected to be okay. you're looking at a live picture of the scene where everything happened. but police are now saying this officer was in a fight for her life. again, we're showing you live pictures of the scene of what we're finding out. look at the top right corner of your screen. this is where police say this incident took place. it all started about 1:30 this morning. this is near dublin boulevard. police say the officer got into some kind of fight with the suspect in the chrysler dodge dealership there. she pulled out her gun and shot the man. he was pronounced dead there at the scene. police say he was a well-known transient in this area. and they say they don't know what he used to hit that officer or if he was armed. >> until we get all of our people here to process the

scene we don't know exactly what he's got. >> now police say the suspect has been arrested several times in the past and has a history of violence. the area around the crime scene has been shut down. that includes the on and off ramp to southbound 680 near dublin boulevard. ktvu's claudine wong has been out there all morning. she will join us live in about 30 minutes with all of the latest information. well, severe weather including tornadoes have devastated the southern part of the state killing more than 178 people. this is home video shot by a man in tuscaloosa, alabama. yesterday it was a series of tornado that is swept across that state killing 128 people. now president obama has declared a state of emergency for alabama. this morning one person we've learned has been killed in virginia after three tornadoes touched down there. this is video shot last night by another man watching the storms. he says he's never seen anything like this in virginia.

the american red cross has opened a shelter for people whose homes have been damaged or destroyed. people in georgia are calling severe weather the storm of a lifetime. at least eleven people killed there. emergency crews say about 178 people across five states were killed during yesterday's huge storms. our time is now 6:02. today the obama administration is asking food companies and restaurants stop advertising unhealthy food to children. coming up for you at 6:15 we'll bring you a live report from washington with the new guidelines that would eliminate a lot of the advertising we're seeing today. an early morning house fire in oakland leaves five people looking for a place to stay now. ktvu's kraig debro has more on why it's taken firefighters so long to put out this fire. good morning, kraig. >> reporter: good morning, dave. behind me some debris in the front yard of the home on 68th avenue. fire crews pulled off the street within the hour. five people needed a place to

stay. one of the tenants here still doesn't know what happened here because he's not here yet. crews contained the fire to a single home, but it took them nearly three hours from start to finish because of insulation. a fire investigator says firefighters at a nearby fire station are among those to see smoke coming from this home on the 2400 block of 68th avenue just east of international. when they arrived heavy smoke coming from the kitchen and attic. none of the people who live in the home was home at the time. the circumstance immediately caused suses possession. investigators determined the cause was accidental. crews were on the scene for nearly three hours recovering any tiny but possibly dangerous speck of insulation. >> these homes have what's considered blown in insulation and they hold in a lot of heat and smoke and embers. we had to remove the whole ceiling within the structure and pretty much most of the roof. >> reporter: members of the same family one of their tenants are now displaced the red cross came to help but one family member says they are

going to stay with other relatives. one other family member says he was just here before the fire started and returned about an hour later only to find the home on fire. reporting live in oakland, kraig debro, ktvu channel 2 news. baseball commissioner bud zeal egg promising a full investigation into an ugly incident at at&t park. atlanta braves pitching coach apologizing for his behavior before the game on saturday. giants fan justin quinn says he watched mcdowel make homophobic remarks and make crude sexual gestures with his bat at some other giants fans. quinn was in the stands with his twin daughters at the time and he says the coach went berserk when he told him to watch his language around children. >> he proceeded to turn and then say what you have been told which is kids don't belong fing at the ballpark. at that point he turned completely towards me, grabbed his bat and picked it up and asked me how much my teeth were

worth to me. >> famed attorney there now represents the quinn family. she says the coach's apology doesn't go far enough. she's demanding a hefty fine and a long suspension. doctors are closely watching injured giants fan bryan stow as they try once again to bring him out of a medically induced coma. he suffered a fractured skull after being beaten outside of dodgers stadium last month. his family says doctors have tried to remove him -- bring him out of a coma four or five times before but every time he suffered seizures. his family says it may take up to three more days to find out if there's any change in bryan stow's condition. oakland police are questioning a man who they say was firing shots from the roof of a home. police arrested the man after receiving several calls last night from people near 27th and telegraph. when officers arrived they found the suspect inside a home that had a target range in the

backyard. investigators say they also found a pellet gun and a real gun with a holster and ammunition. a bill to make raves safer moves forward after undergoing major revisions. the original version sought an all out ban on raves held on public property. it was introduced after drug- related overdoses at the cal palace. the new bill calls for setting up safety guidelines for raves. won approval from an assembly committee yesterday. now state agencies could require promoters to prove their events will be properly staffed with enough law enforcement and medical staffing. time now 6:07. a bay area lawmaker is leading california's latest earthquake safety campaign. democrat ellen corp bet of san leandro holding hearings at the capitol this week aimed at making sure kids are safe at school during a major quake. now this is a response to complaints from teachers and parents that thousands of california schools could crumble in a big quake. state regulators have already agreed to make it easier for schools to get millions of

dollars of seismic retrofit money. 6:07 is the time right now. back to sal. what's going on in traffic, sal? it's getting busier, pam and dave. good morning to you. traffic is moving along relatively well if you are on highway 17 and highway 280 here in the south bay. so the south bay commute looks pretty good. there are no major issues there. the traffic continues to move along very well. also this morning if you're looking at the commute on the nimitz freeway that is nice. as a matter of fact, we have a nice looking drive on the nimitz freeway a little bit farther down hayward, union city and fremont that traffic is getting a little busier just past eighth street there as you drive south to union city and fremont. and across the bay peninsula looks okay. 101 through san mateo looks good. 280 also in good shape. 6:08. let's go to steve. thank you, sal. cooler today. but first the pollen count for those of you suffering, pam cook, pam cook, pam cook. and if you're in that camp,

welcome back to the morning news. this morning verizon is working to restore service to its cell phone customers. millions of people across the country lost service yesterday. the company says it's now determined to find the cause of the outage. and it hopes to restore service to everyone by the end of the day. now the outage was first for verizon's speedy new 4g network. keep an eye on your breakfast this morning. the federal government will propose new strict standards today for how some food companies market to kids. as ktvu's allison burns reports from our washington d.c. newsroom, health experts are worried about how kids are being bombarded with ads for junk food. >> reporter: obesity rates are rising as kids are constantly being exposed to ads on tv and online for sugar and fattening foods. >> help me as the soar high in the sky on my shooting star

charm. >> reporter: this virtual adventure online reportedly gets hundreds of thousands of visitors a month. and kids cartoons are still interrupted with plenty of colorful characters promoting foods health experts say are not healthy at all. now the feds are stepping in. the fda will reportedly introduce recommendations today that food companies only market to kids if the foods contain healthy amounts of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. foods could not be marketed to kids if they contain more than one gram of saturated fat, 13- grams of added sugars and 210- milligrams of sodium. now the food industry says it has already significantly reduced its advertising on television. these recommendations will be up for public comment through the summer and phased in over five years. reporting live from washington d.c., allison burns, ktvu channel 2 news. time now 6:15. well, president obama is making jokes and showing his sense of

humor about the whole birth certificate controversy. >> my name's barack obama. [ cheering and applause ] >> i was born in hawaii. [ cheering and applause ] >> there's the president. he was in new york last night for a fundraiser joking about questions about his birthplace. the white house released this. the president's birth certificate yesterday to prove to critics he was indeed born in the united states. some california prison inmates filed a class action lawsuit accusing the state of california of racial discrimination. the lawsuit claims whenever there's an outbreak of violence at a prison, all inmates that share the ethnicity of the troublemakers are put in lockdown. they say they're confined to their cells for an average of two months and denied visitors. well, the state department of corrections says it is not the department's policy to base a lockdown solely on race or ethnicity. this morning san francisco's new police chief begins his first full day on

the job. >> this is the biggest honor. it's unbelievable. so thank you. >> he was overcome with emotion during his swearing in ceremony at city hall yesterday. the new chief plans to get right down to work meeting with officers in every police station in the city. he is a 30 year veteran of the force. he had tremendous success reducing homicides while serving as a police captain in the city's bayview district. police have arrested two men linked to a string of crimes in the north bay involving the theft of catalytic converters. michael helms and larry were

taken into custody yesterday. police got a break when they started doing surveillance. officers say they actually witnessed the men sliding under a truck and stealing a catalytic converter. police have connected the men to at least four other cases. time now 6:17. new report this morning about autism. the current screening methods could indicate autism in toddlers 18 months or older. however, new research is suggesting a five minute survey may spot early signs of autism in babies by their first birthday. it's a 25 question survey that parents can answer about their baby's verbal communication, their emotion expressions and gestures. so far this particular survey reportedly has detected autism in 75% of the cases. marin county residents aren't happy with a proposal to raise water rates. last night water district officials said a 4% increase is needed to help balance the budget. this would raise water rates about $4 for every two month billing period. but people say the district needs to look at other options including pay cuts before asking the public to pay more. a second hearing about the rate increase will be held on may 23rd. well, today the bart board of directors will consider late night train service. right now bart service ends

around midnight. under the proposed pilot program bart would extend service an extra hour on friday nights. saturday service would begin at 7:00 a.m., an hour later than it does now. if approved, the trial period will start in september and run for about six months. bart officials say it would cost about $1.2 million. that will be interesting to see what happens there. right now let's check in on some other traffic issues. more onramp closure. police investigation, sal? that's right. story claudine has been bringing us all morning, well, it's causing kind of a slow down on dublin boulevard the ramp over to 680 is closed. and if you're driving on southbound 680 trying to get onto eastbound 580 you cannot enter -- or i'm sorry you cannot exit onto dublin boulevard. this area here in dublin near the car dealerships is a good area to avoid. and from what claudine tells us they're not going to be opening this area any time soon. so you have to come up with a different way to get around. you will not be able to get on

or off the freeway there as you can see just behind that tree it's just not -- nothing is going on there. it is going to stay that way for a bit. go out and take a look at westbound bay bridge. looks like we have something going on here in the right lane. we presume it's a stall or an accident. i'm trying to figure out what chp thinks it is. nevertheless the traffic is going to be -- let's see i'm reading this as i go. it's a stalled vehicle. so watch out for just some activity up there. we'll get you more on that. the bay bridge metering lights may be slowed down. and you can see west on the bottom left there westbound after two trees which is what they call the area there near the metering lights there's a stalled vehicle with flashers on. chp's there. 6:20. let's go to steve. sal, thank you. partly cloudy today. cooler, breezy at times to maybe even downright windy later on mainly coast. but you can see system dragging clouds over us. after two days of sunshine, well, mostly sunny, we'll see a cool down today.

you can see the associated front. that will give us a lot of cloud cover today. partly sunny optimistically. i think you'll notice a drop in temps. 40s and 50s for current temperatures. combine that with a breeze might feel a little cooler especially along the coast also in the north bay. rather strong system for this late in the season will dig in. that's going to allow temperatures to come down. 50s, 60s. i did go one 70s at least on this panel. that would be antioch. everyone else cool off three to five degrees compared to yesterday. so sun and a lot of clouds. windy at times hills and in the coast. windy as well on friday. then sunny and warmer weather takes us into the weekend. pam and dave. all right. thank you, steve. honda's quarterly profit dropped 38% because of production problems following the japan earthquake and tsunami. honda's profit for the january through march dropped $545 million after shutting down its entire production in japan during the quarter. that resulted in a production loss of about 58,000 cars. the long delayed white

iphone goes on sale today. it was set to be released last july but was delayed because of production problems. price for the phone will range between $200 and $300 depending on the model. it will be sold at apple, at&t and verizon stores. all right. time now 6:21. you know nasa's getting ready for a launch. there was a fire near the site of tomorrow's space shuttle launch. what firefighters are doing now to make sure smoke doesn't interfere with that launch. and the closure for a walnut creek woman who shared a special bond with a u.s. soldier who went missing during the vietnam war. looks like we have a problem up on the upper deck trying to get this vehicle out of there in the right lane. the trouble is that it's causing a back up on the bridge. pretty soon there will be an even bigger back up at the toll plaza. we'll be live with details coming up.

near the kennedy space center is out. obviously they want to make sure the air is clear of all smoke for the space shuttle endeavor launch scheduled for tomorrow. that fire by the way burned 350 acres. it's just three miles from the launch pad. and we're now just a day away from the royal wedding. coming up for you at 6:35 we'll take you live to london where everyone including the prince and his future bride are involved in last minute preparations. a u.s. soldier who went missing during the vietnam war is finally coming home. the recent discovery of james mooreland easterly mains has been a long time coming for kathy strong of walnut creek. she's been wearing a metal bracelet with his name on it since 1972. the bracelets were sold in the 70s. each engraved with the name of a missing soldier from the vietnam war. strong says his remains are now being flown back to the u.s. for burial. >> even though i'm taking off the bracelet in a couple weeks,

you know, i've realized over the years whether i'm wearing this bracelet or not he'll always be with me. >> now strong says she will take off the bracelet at his funeral next month in alabama. the bracelet will then be buried with him. time is now 6:26. there will be a lot more suspense than usual in tonight's nfl football draft. the profootball teams will pick the nation's top college players. this draft's always a guessing game, but this year the questions go far beyond which college player goes to what team. the players and owners as you know are locked in a bitter labor dispute. and it's expected to create a complex and very chaotic situation on draft night. today the 49ers and raiders will hold draft day parties in this very uncertain year for profootball. the 49ers party will be held at the santa clara convention center at the great america parkway. starts at 4:00 p.m. the 9ers will be looking for a new quarterback to replace struggling aleck smith. the raiders draft day party

saturday celebrating the 137th running of the kentucky derby. which will be on may 7th. that's now been taken over by corporate naming as well because it is now the yum brands. the kentucky derby presented by yum brands. taco bell and i can't remember what else. >> pepsi. >> yes 689 thank you. >> interesting. we'll smile and say good morning to you. thank you for joining us here on the ktvu morning news. it is thursday april 28th, pam. i'm dave clark. >> good morning. i'm pam cook. time now 6:30. in the news this morning police are now saying a dublin police officer was involved in a fight for her life. ktvu's claudine wong is live now with what led up to a violent confrontation that left one man dead. good morning, claudine. >> reporter: good morning, dave. yes, police are still on the scene here. this area is going to be shut down for quite a while while they continue to process evidence and go through everything. the suspect's body still over in the lot of that dodge chrysler dealership over there.

we are on amadou valley right off the dublin boulevard off ramp and onramp for 680. we are getting new details about what led up to all this. sergeant nelson with the alameda county sheriff's department. we know this started at 1:30. only lasted three minutes. what do we know about what happened between this officer and apparent transient? >> we know when she went off to talk to him very quickly it got violent. he started to attack her. he started to punch her. basically she says he try today stomp my head into the ground. >> reporter: do we know what triggered all of this? we know she called in at 1:30 saying i see a suspicious person. really from that point until the time she fired her weapon it was only three minutes. what triggered that kind of reaction? >> that's what we don't know at this point. what would cause him to act so violently towards her. she was definitely in a fight # fight for her life.

she was bloodied. her face was bloodied. her head was bloodied. she's in the hospital now. and as her last resort she did fire her weapon. >> reporter: how is she doing? you described this as a serious head injury. do you expect her to fully recover? >> yes. it's our hope she recovers fully and speedily. as i said before she is in the hospital. it's a head injury. she's in the trauma center. >> reporter: thanks for joining us this morning. as far as the suspect all we know about him is that he's fairly well known to the police department. he has a criminal record. a history of violence. again, his body still other there. they expect to be out here for a while. we'll stay out here and keep you updated. cleanup cleanup, ktvu channel 2 news. a wiring problem may be to blame for an early morning house fire in oakland according to firefighters. this happened on 68th avenue east of international boulevard about 2:30 this morning. no one was home at this house

at the time when the fire started. so no one was hurt. firefighters were there for almost three hours checking the home's insulation for any possible hot spots. investigators think the fire started in the kitchen. the death toll continues to rise in the south after a series of tornadoes yesterday. this is new video now from tuscaloosa, alabama. take a look at that. at least 128 people were killed across the state during those severe storms. the man who shot this video says it was unreal to see something this violent. the same series of storms hit mississippi killing 32 people there. here's the video from the damage in oxford in the eastern part of the state. trees and power lines are down in the area right now roads are being cleared to bring supplies to the city. time now 6:34. accused serial killer joseph naso wants to represent himself at his murder trial.

the 77-year-old photographer from reno made the request in a marin county courtroom. he told the judge he's been giving his case a lot of thought over the past couple weeks. naso says it would be best for everyone if he acted as his own lawyer. the judge is expected to rule on that request next month. naso is accused of killing four northern california women in crimes dating back to the 1970s. investigators say he may be connected to several other homicides in other parts of the country. a santa cruz man is in jail this morning after police discovered he'd been living with a corpse. the 63-year-old on tuesday neighbors reported a strong odor coming from his apartment. when police arrived they found the body of a woman covered by blankets. police say it appears she'd been dead for at least a week. he's being held without bail while police investigate the woman's death. time now 6:35. a good samaritan rescued a man

from the water at ocean beech in san francisco. an unidentified man was spotted floating face down and unconscious yesterday afternoon. well, a good samaritan came along, brought him back to shore, called 911 and then performed cpr until firefighters arrived. that man was rushed to the hospital. but we have no word on his condition this morning. the months of anticipation are almost over. we are just a day away from the royal wedding. we're live in london again this morning for us with the last minute preparations. how does it look, don? >> reporter: hi, pam. looking good here. the weather is nice. there are concerns it's going to rain tomorrow but so far so good. we're doing okay. the cutting the grass behind me preparing gardens at buckingham palace to make everything look absolutely tiptop tomorrow. i imagine there are behind the

scenes preparations going on and even in the public too. it's a royal wedding with the cast of thousands and predicted audience of billions. and on friday everyone has a part to play. along the processional route hundreds of well wishers are camping out to grant the best spot. some are more organized than others. >> sleeping bags and tent i think we're okay. >> reporter: across the country thousands of street parties are being held in celebrationment. the prime minister camped out for the wedding of prince charles and diana. this time he'll be a guest in the abbey. >> being able to see them is a huge privilege. >> reporter: security as you'd expect is intense. 5,000 police officers will be on duty and sniffer dogs have been patrolling the processional route. a route that will take kate middleton into another world on friday. >> do you think you're coming to london and you intend to use both just don't come. they'll put you in the crowds and take quick and decisive

action to remove you. >> reporter: every last detail is being rehearsed. and the bride and groom have familiarized themselves with their surroundings. on wednesday night the happy couple went to westminster abbey for a private rehearsal. exactly 10:51 on friday morning the future queen will leave the hotel for westminster abbey. the hotel has a long royal tradition. the queen mom enjoyed afternoon tea and prince charles' christening cake made in its kitchen. and by all accounts the happy couple having a pretty ordinary build up to this wedding. they're really not trying to make a big deal of it. of course rehearsal at the abbey yesterday evening. i just wanted to show you a picture of prince william our future king in the newspaper here this morning. he's known to travel around london on a motorbike. he likes to remain pretty incognito. we've i never seen a picture like this before. it's a parennation of how normal he is trying to be.

a violent confrontation in dublin injures one police officer and leaves a man dead. this happened this morning at am ma door plaza at dublin boulevard. that area is still closed for investigation. that includes the on and off ramp to southbound 680. yesterday several incredible storms swept across the southern u.s. look at these pictures just for a moment. leaving at least 178 people dead. alabama hit the hardest. authorities confirming 131 people were killed there. a state of emergency has been declared. and today the obama administration will ask restaurants and food companies to change how they advertise food to children. the new proposed guidelines urge the companies to advertise only foods low in fats, shuling sugars and sodiums and have healthy ingredients. these changes would be voluntary. it's a new battle over indian burial grounds. ktvu's jade hernandez tells us it involves the discovery at a

bay area high school campus a few years ago. jade. >> reporter: good morning. we're live at the campus this morning. we just spoke to the descendant who is handling this case. he told me that he approached the san ramon valley school district. they have responded and they're working on an agreement to resolve this issue. the goal is to bury the human remains discovered while construction of the new gymnasium in danville. the human remains discovered and unearthed during 2009 have not been properly buried. experts say the remains are likely those of the bay me walk tribe in the sack village once located in the central contra costa county. the remains still currently stored in 88 archived boxes at an undisclosed location. they date back 150 to 2,000 years ago. due to the remains being found on district property, the district was responsible for paying for extradition which was set around $25,000. the defendant told us he didn't want to comment on camera and will continue to reach an

agreement with the district to resolve this issue resolution which will allow the remains to be buried in fremont's indian cemetery. jade hernandez, ktvu channel 2 news. time now 6:45. the brother of an afghan pilot who shot and killed nine americans says a gunman had money problems. eight american troops and the u.s. contractor were killed when that pilot opened fire following an argument during a meeting at the kabul airport. the gunman was killed when troops returned fire. the brother of that pilot said he had no connections to insurgents. the u.s. ambassador to libya says after more than two months of violence there the death toll could be as high as 30,000. the ambassador says there are several reports of bodies being found. the actual death toll probably won't be known until after all the fighting is over. tomorrow oakland mayor jean quan is expected to unveil her first detailed plan for dealing with the city's $58 million

budget deficit. in a preliminary budget plan she released last month quan called for all city departments to reduce spending by 15%. other possible cuts include the closing of a branch library and layoffs in the police and fire departments. the city council has to come up with a final budget plan by june 30th. state senate leader steinberg floating the idea of cutting state funding to republican districts in california. at an appearance yesterday at the sacramento press club steinberg said "if you don't want to pay for government, well, then you will get less of it. steinberg was referring to the call from republican lawmakers for a cuts only solution to the state budget deficit. a new poll shows 61% of californians favor governor jerry brown's plan to eliminate the state budget deficit with a combination of spending cuts and taxes. 62% said they don't want their personal income tax raised. another 61% also oppose raising

the sales tax. but 68% say that they are okay with raising the personal income tax on what they call wealthy californians. time now 6:47. sal, are they awake at the toll plaza yet? there's a bigger back up there because of an earlier issue. there was a van that was towing something got caught up in that right lane. now the bridge crews are fast. they get up there with three trucks and got that thing out of there. but now there's a bigger back up than you would normally like to see although i'm surprised actually that it's not bigger than it is. it is big, but it could have been a lot worse. so i guess we maybe dodged a bullet here. about a 15 minute wait before you get on to the bridge. looking at interstate 880 traffic is okay. it's getting busier as you head south. i want to take a look at the santa cruz mountains. the road sensors show good traffic with some slowing near the summit but nothing major as you make your way down to the main part of san jose. still off to a good start in the south bay. 85 at 17 showing a little

slowing now. 6:48. let's go to steve. thank you, sal. partly cloudy. cooler. partly sunny later on. temperatures will come down today. temperatures that went up the last couple days ease off today and tomorrow but we'll bring them back up on the weekend. for those suffering from pollen or allergies blame trees and grass. trees right now out in front. mulberry, elm. grasses and weeds aren't far behind anywhere from medium, medium-high to very high. i think we'll see a change cooler lowering of that the next couple days and then back up by the weekend. clouds associated with not a bad little system for the end of april. as that begins to move in the wind picks up as well. gusts 20, 25 miles per hour maybe stronger along the coast later on today and also in some of the higher elevations. sea breeze is in place. sfo had 21-mile per hour winds last hour. now they say calm. but west-southwest from oakland to fairfield to napa airport and also out to vacaville tells us delta breeze is firmly in place. 40s, low 40s santa rosa.

if they didn't have the breeze i think napa would be down there as well. but 40s also for livermore and redwood city. but a lot of low 50s due to cloud cover. fremont being in there. partly sunny, partly cloudy. 48 to start. go 58 at noon and a high today of 65 degrees down a little bit from yesterday. as that system digs in rather strong coming you can see the leading edge of it right there. now it's not coming over us, but it's going into oregon and idaho and nevada. that will pick up the wind tomorrow. also give some precipitation to the sierra nevada and northern california. so if you're up there or if you're heading in that direction we have a change today in our pattern. partly sunny, mostly cloudy at times. breezy, cooler as the front moves through. then high pressure says i'm coming in. and it will start on saturday then really start to kick in more on sunday for much warmer weather. 50s, 60s to upper 60s for many today. anywhere near the bay some mid- 60s near the ocean upper 50s and low 60s. i did go a couple low 70s. little nervous pittsburgh hang with it for antioch and brentwood for now. same for gill roy down there
