duchess of cambridge. they got married 3:00 this morning, our time, in london. that's where we got our first full look at her wedding down. her designer, sarah burton. many are comparing her dress to grace kelly's dress when she married prince monaco. when she first arrived at the altar, women said, "you look beautiful." they exchanged public kisses -- in fact, two kisses. that's the first time that's happened on the balcony. there was no shortage of watchers here in the bay area. this morning, hundreds people gathered at a british pub in san jose.

look around the room. some of the ladies wore hats that looked like royalty as they watched the wedding between prince william and catherine middleton. a low the of the royal watchers say this wed something very important for the royal -- wedding is very important for the royal family. >> we lost diana and people have taken more of a notice on her kids. it kind of modernizes things. this has been good. >> i think it's a good change for the british monarchy. i think kate is go ma make a big impact -- gonna make a big impact on what's gonna happen to the future. >> listen to the noise. jade hernandez has been out this morning, visiting a lot of viewing parties. jade started at this one in san jose. she's now on her way to another

one in san francisco. jade will join us at 8:00 this morning. turning to local news, we're following overnight news in san jose. investigators are looking for the cause of an early-morning house fire on drake street. kraig debro tells is this same home burned -- tell us this same home burned a few months ago. >> reporter: good morning, tori. behind me is home that burn this morning as well as four months ago. there's still some of it left. there's concern that the same thing could happen for the third time. no one occupied the home. it's still a mystery how did the same house catch fire twice? firefighters made sure people were safe until a water- carrying engine arrived four minutes later. according to firefighters, those four minutes might not have made a difference.

>> flames, probably 0, 30 -- 20, 30 feet in the air. >> reporter: this was back in january of 2011, the so same building that served as a marijuana dispensary. it burned back then. investigators check with arson and they say they don't have a cause to the fire just yet. they are still looking for the cause. the people living next door, they got out okay two months ago. they have to now make other arrangements to live. >> for the time being, we'll go to my in-law's. they said they are gonna hand it over to us sometime today. and that this today be okay -- and that it should be okay. there's damage to the roof. therethere is a hole in the roof. >> reporter: this is a picture that he took on the way out.

he took a picture the home burn so voraciously this morning. take a look at this live picture. there's still some home left. when i talked to the fire captain, he said they are gonna make sure there's no flareups. how far, what happens to this home, that's up to the owner. so until the or until owner tears it down, there could be another fire, kraig debro, ktvu channel 2 news. thank you, kraig. seas are looking to -- investigators are looking for a fire at a pot club. firefighters were obscene in minutes. they saw the -- they say the flames caused only minor damage and that's due in part to the pot club's elaborate system. >> the sprinkler system did

7:15. we want to update this hour's breaking news. you are looking at it right now. this is antioch. and crews are out there battling a big apartment house fire. newschopper2 is flying over this. this is on "a" street. again, newschopper2 is spanning around looking at the fire crews out there. we don't know if there's any injuries in this fire. but the fire forced some out their homes. we'll bring you an update on ground on this story as we get more information in. 7:15. just about five and a half hours from now, the space shuttle "endeavour" is scheduled to start its final trip into space.

the shuttle leaves kennedy space center and heads for the international space station. arizona congresswoman, gabrielle giffords, will be onhand to watch the shuttle take off with her husband mark kelly serving as commander. she will not be in the crowd. she will watch from a private viewing area and president obama and his family will also be there after his visit this morning to the tornado-damaged southeast. and you can watch the launch during an expanded edition of the news at noon. the shuttle is expected to take off this morning at 11:45. allison buns is live -- burns is live in our newsroom with the video that's in controversy between the protest

to 92. a huge proportion about same age as william and kate, at 29 and 30. you know, i think that's just a real testimony of how royal family is view over here. we've all been very excited as have everybody. i think, you know, in the states and across the rest of the world it's been fabulous. >> has there been much a big deal over there that kate middleton was a commoner? >> no, not at all. i think -- well, i think these things are obviously mention and i think the front page of the paper are all, you know, "william marries his commoner." but catherine middleton went 0 a very good school over here in england, a private school, and she's been -- she's going to the university with william as well. so although the word "commoner" comes out.

sponsorship. the new government in egypt is making foreign policy exchange that's being closely watched by the united states. pro-democracy leaders forced out president hosni mubarak. the new leaders of egypt are reestablishing diplomatic relations with iran. this week, egypt brokered an agreement with rival palestinian lead earns. they want egypt to be respect as a regional power. also, a nato air strike mistakenly killed 12 in the city of misrata. it's at least the third reported friendly-fire incident since nato started attacking forces close to moammar gadhafi. the rebel leaders say they strongly support even more nato

sunny, warmer as we go into the weekend and even next week. dave? all right, steve, thank you. well, mississippi residents who survived those devastating tornadoes, now they are being warned about potential flooding. now, unlike the tornadoes, the emergency officials say the residents can prepare for this impending disaster. they say the mississippi river could rise three feet before foot level. that would put an enormous strain on the levees there. 33 people have died in those storms that hit mississippi. the ugly incident at a giants' game made headlines this morning. this morning, the out-of-town coach at the center learns his fate

7:31. millions of people all over the world watched britain for the royal wedding of prince william and kate middleton. our reporter is with the latest, about what's next for the royal couple? good morning. >> reporter: good afternoon, from london. we're now past 3:30 london time. you ask what's next? well, on into the evening of buckingham palace. there will be a number of receptions. there should be one going on now. there's an evening reception hosted by prince charles. and tonight, there are a number of parties inside buckingham palace. three of those state rooms have been translated into nightclubs. at the insist -- insistens of kate's sister, disco balls were intoday.

landslide. if we show you you the video -- show you the video, you can see the home is slipping away from its foundation and mud and dirt is sliding down and threatening three homes at the bottom of the hill. but now, the city of san san pablo has presented a present to fix part of the problem. that plan would stabilize land between those impacted. but that homeowner is not happy because he says that plan doesn't do anything to shore up the land slide and provide a long-term solution. >> it would be nice if they would say, this problem is on a scale that norm homeowners can handle this? our network is in a building that has zero value. we're gonna get a loan? somebody is gonna give us a -- no. >> reporter: so that homeowner and five others agreed to the

people. we're live from alabama, where president obama is expected to arrive in ten minutes to get a first-hand look at damage. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. president obama has scheduled a tour in tuscaloosa at the damage. there's massive destruction from where i'm standing all way up to the top hill. want to try panning to the right. it will be heavily lit. so i apologize for sun. we have two police officers. what they are looking for is addish -- additional bodies. with you a of the debris, they realize there is a distinct possibility they might find other bodies. they brought in cadaver dogs.

tuscaloosa, alabama, which was so severely by the storms and the damage. the president and his family will meet with residents as well as the governor of alabama and the president's daughters, sasha and ma lela are with them -- malia are with them too, because the whole family is then going on to faa to watch the shuttle launch. but they stopped here first. air force one slowly taxiing on the runway as it approaches a helicopter in the foreground which may take them closer to the damage. we'll continue to follow this. as we get closer to seeing the president and his family, we'll bring it to you. bank of america says it will raise its fees for customers late making their credit card statements. starting in june, delinquent b of a customers could pay up to 30% on future balances.

to take advantage of people wanting to donate to stow's medical fund. stow, as you may remember, was attacked outside of the giants game parking lot in march. the family says there's only one site. >> they basically say they are doing on behalf of brian and our family and they say they are telling -- selling merchandise and then the site's gone and they walk away with whatever they have gotten. >> doctors are still trying to bring stow out of a medically- induced coma. he was having seizures when they tried to do that. and charlie sheen is using his show tomorrow night as a platform to raise money for brian stow. all proceeds from tomorrow

fire and this same house burned twice now. it's on drake street. good morning, kraig. >> reporter: you can see it didn't burn to the ground. a little bit more house to go. no cause for either one of those fires. nobody's occupying the home at the time. but four people next door did get out. but there's a troubling mystery about how the same house caught fire within two months. a truck company from nearby station 30 was first on scene but since truck companies don't carry water, firefighters had to wait around until an engine came. that took about four more minutes. they found nobody was in the house. they were able to continue their firefighting duties. according to one firefighter, those four minutes might not have made a difference. >> flames probably 20, 30 feet in the air. very active fire. pretty much defensive fire from the start meaning we're not gonna go an -- gonna do an injury or an attack.

>> reporter: it was a business that's a marijuana dispensary. at that time, when we were covering the story, there was word it might be an electrical power. they have power lines carrying 12,000 volts. well, investigators checked with arson investigators about the investigation on the -- in the january fire. there was no cause to the fire yet. meanwhile the man and his family unscathedded the first time have to find a place to live now. >> in the meantiming we'll go to my in-law's house. they said they are gonna hand it back over to us this morning. they said it should be okay. we got some water damage. there's a hole in the roof now. >> reporter: and when he left the house, he took this picture from his blackberry, what the fire looked like. we weren't here when the fire was fully he involved. you can see from the picture, the flames were high and

firefighters wouldn't have had a chance to go inside and rescue anybody. meanwhile, ken james and his family were able to go inside and retrieve clothing items. it's going to sake some time -- it's going to take some time to figure out the cause of this fire. investigators are looking into the cause of a fire at a pot club in the south of market area. firefighters got to the scene within minutes. they say flames only caused minor damage and that's due to the pot club's very elaborate sprinkler system. >> the sprinkler system kept it in the one room and didn't spread to other parts of the building. 8:07. two big festivals celebrating mexican heritage in san jose
