here's sal. steve, northbound 280 looks good. it will be interesting to see what kind of commute we get today in the south basil con valley. is it going to be a light day or not because it's hard to predict these days especially with spring break and everything. northbound 101 looks okay getting out to the 80 split. that traffic is light. 6:00 let's go back to the desk. sal, thank you. we're now hearing the first threat of retaliation against the united states for the killing of osama bin laden. an al qaeda congressmen at a timer posted a eulogy for bin laden on extremist websites. he promised to "avenge the killing of the sheik of islam." we're also finding out this morning that bin laden's body has already been buried at sea. a u.s. official says that is in keeping with islamic tradition that calls for a burial within 24 hours. osama bin laden's death came after a 40 minute fire fight at his compound in pakistan. it happened in abbottabad. the video you're looking at

shows the compound on fire shortly after the raid. u.s. forces reportedly shot bin laden in the head during that fire fight. it's believed bin laden has this compound built about five years ago specifically so he could hide out. now the white house says they found out about this compound earlier this year. president obama announced the killing of osama bin laden in a dramatic white house speech last night. >> tonight i can report to the american people and to the world that the united states has conducted an operation that killed osama bin laden, the leader of al qaeda and a terrorist who's responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women and children. >> now president obama says he wants the families who lost loved ones in september 11 attacks to know the country has never forgotten their loss. right now security levels remain the same at bay area airports following the bin laden announcement. but there is a warning for

americans abroad. ktvu's allie rasmus joins us from sfo this morning to explain. allie. >> reporter: well, good morning. the state department has issued a worldwide alert for all u.s. citizens living and traveling abroad. and that alert warns that there's an enhanced risk for anti-american violence in retaliation following the death of osama bin laden. here at sfo as you mentioned security levels remain unchanged. when i talked to the duty manager this morning he says the airport has not received any instructions from the tsa to do things any differently than they were 24 hours ago security-wise. it is a different story at other u.s. airports in new york, new jersey and los angeles the airports there do have a noticeably increased security presence. now some of the air passengers we spoke to this morning say they're relieved to hear about bin laden's death but they don't expect it to change security at the airports long- term. >> it probably won't because there's still other terrorists

out there. but the main person is out of the picture now. >> i think the system is more better now. >> reporter: now just a half hour ago inside the sfo terminal we did see and briefly talk to some tsa workers who just reported for work. they said they are in the process of learning whether there will be any security enhancements happening here. but they said they really couldn't give us anymore information about what they had planned. thousands of people fly in and out of sfo internationally on a daily basis. the state department warning applies to them. what is lightly unusual about the warning is that it doesn't specifically mention a country or region. just says that this is a worldwide alert and that it will remain in effect until august. reporting live at sfo, allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. well, bin laden's death immediately brought attention back to ground zero in new york city. want to take you live there this morning and take a look. still plenty of people out

there this morning. that's where the world trade center towers once stood. a large crowd gathered again right now after a patriotic celebration last night and then again early this morning. [ cheering and applause ] >> a huge crowd of people began singing the star spangled banner. others could be heard chanting usa. a similar celebration also started at new york city's times square. >> very excited about it. i think it helps of all the americans and people around the world. >> were you shocked? >> i knew we would get him eventually. we worked really hard. just how much money we would spend. >> many people watched president obama's announcement of bin laden's death on a huge tv in times square. others took photos of the

electronic ticker that stated the news. time now 6:05. as you can imagine everyone this morning is talking about the death of osama bin laden. ktvu's jade hernandez getting reaction from the community known as little kabul in fremont. good morning, jade. >> reporter: good morning. we just moved ten minutes down the road from where we were an hour ago. and fremont's community, little kabul, has only grown over the years because the city is the largest afghan community in the u.s. we're live along a strip mall on thornton avenue. you can see right in front of you there is an islamic center, right to the left is little kabul market. and at the end of this strip mall another nonprofit islamic education center. we tried to speak to one man entered this morning but he was headed to prayer so he didn't want to comment for our story. someone who did speak to us, a middle east history professor from stanford. he says he feels it's important not to make osama bin laden too important. he says bin laden has not been as strong of a figure within al

qaeda in a while. >> this is symbolically very important. it will certainly improve the standing of the united states and the world. it's a statement about our operational capacity which hasn't been great in the middle east and central asia recently. it is a blow to the morale of would-be terrorists. >> reporter: the executive director of a nonprofit group right here in fremont which pushes understanding between muslims and u.s. sent out a statement about 1:00 this morning as news continued to come down about bin laden's death. he says "with a major chapter of the war on terror closed with the death of osama bin laden we hope for a new chapter of dialogue and peace between the u.s. and muslim world." that statement directly from the organization's motto leading the way towards a better tomorrow. now also spoke to the head of the islamic center right here this morning. i was told that the center opens very soon. reaction should be flowing from

about 20 minutes or so when the commute should start ramping up. if it doesn't we know it's going to be a lighter day. this is a look at westbound bay bridge. so far so good. usually switch the metering lights on about 6:15. we'll see what happens. also this morning's drive in san jose looks good getting up to highway 17. and as i check with chp we mostly have a decent drive. i want to mention that 24th street at mission in san francisco is still a good area to avoid for the investigation of a very serious accident. at 6:09. let's go to steve. sal, thank you, sir. good morning. the fog has returned. it will be cooler is what that should say there. we start off this morning with some of that fog increasing. so coastal fog now mainly starting to fill in a little bit but more so on the marin coast along san francisco and san mateo than say sonoma or santa cruz coastline. also a decent delta breeze. not rip roaring but it's there. by noon we will have mostly sunny skies. some fog will be on the coast around the bay and then some

upper 60s and low 70s inland. and then by this afternoon the coolest weather will be along the coast no doubt about it. upper 50s and low 60s there around the bay near 70. inland still some upper 7 0z. it will be sunny unless you're right by the water's edge. then it will be cooler. blowing around for those of you suffering the pollen count continues to be high. mulberry, elm on the trees. grass is trying to get in there. it's in the place condition and at show are the weeds. excuse me. they're still low but a lot of mostly high to very high category are the trees and grasses if you're suffering. system is coming by ramping up the fog. it's not -- i mean it's not like a big fog bank but it has increased in the last hour or two. now i want to draw your attention to something here. napa's 40 calm. fairfield 56 with a southwest wind to about 15. that's a huge difference for not an area that really aren't that far apart. 16 degrees. santa rosa 41.

livermore now down to 46. redwood city 56. oakland 54 at 8:00 a.m. high today of 70. breezy and cooler patchy fog mainly in the morning hours. that system a little low spinning right there on its way to visit portland. for us the southern edge is picking up the westerly breeze. that's an increase in the fog. it will be a warmer week after today. warmer on tuesday and much warmer on wedges. looks like upper 80s to maybe 90 as we head toward midweek. today if you're away from the coast it will be sunny. closer to the coast it will be fog you'll have to deal with and fog more of a westerly breeze a spread of about 20 degrees between some 60s to near 80. a lot of 70s in between. mid-70s. we will bring it down today on the temperatures. start to turn that around tuesday. sunny side up and warmer wednesday into thursday. but all signs point towards a good cool down especially as we head towards saturday and sunday.

[ cheering and applause ] coming up we're going to have a live report from washington d.c. for a time line of how that secret operation was carried out. also a bomb threat at a bay area strip mall. how it ended just hours ago.

[ cheering and applause ] look at that. cheers overnight at west point military academy. one of the cadets says curfew is typically 11:30 at night but those cadets stayed awake until early this morning celebrating the news about the death of osama bin laden. u.s. forces as you know killed the al qaeda leader at a raid at a mansion in pakistan. a u.s. spokesperson says bin laden's body has already been buried at sea. it's in accordance with islamic tradition. we are learning more about the intelligence operation that led to the final assault on osama bin laden. ktvu's allison burns is in our washington d.c. newsroom with the latest briefings from the white house and the pentagon. allison. >> reporter: it was true detective work that began about four years ago when u.s. intelligence operatives learned the name of osama bin laden's courier. here's the rest of the time line. in august of last year they identified that compound in pakistan where they believed

the courier lived. they soon learned bin laden himself might be there and they notified president obama. by march in the midst of the big congressional budget battle, president obama began a series of very high level meetings to develop options to capture or kill bin laden. this past friday before he went to see the storm damage in alabama, president obama authorized the operation. and on sunday around 3:30 eastern time a small team of elite u.s. forces raided the compound and killed bin laden. now this is some video of the sprawling mansion area where bin laden was shot. i just talked to a former defense intelligence official who has worked with the team that carried out the operation about what went into it. >> this was surgical. this is not a taking out a dozen people and half of them are good guys. we're talking about great precision and great ability. these seals i have no doubt were the creme de la creme of the navy and they rehearsed this. >> reporter: now president

obama did not notify any other world leaders before the operation was carried out. reporting live from washington d.c., allison burns, ktvu channel 2 news. time now 6:16. a very tense situation at a fremont strip mall ended a couple hours ago. police say a man in a white van who claimed he had a bomb turned himself in. there were no signs of any explosives though. police sealed off that strip mall on christy street for several hours because of that bomb threat. police say that man's in custody now. they also say he has serious mental problems. it appears san francisco's crime lab is more short staffed than ever. today's examiner reports that the lab is currently staffed with just four dna technicians. even though the police department promised to have the labs fully staffed with eleven workers to handle the big backlog. city is currently in the process of hiring several more technicians. in the meantime it costs

$150,000 every month to send criminal evidence to an outside lab. time now 6:17. obviously we're talking about the death of osama bin laden this morning. joining us on the phone now is state assembly member swanson. his first cousin died on united flight 93 the hijacked plane that crashed in shanksville, pennsylvania. it's believed the hijackers may have wanted to crash that plane into either the white house or the u.s. capitol. but passengers stormed the cockpit. assembly member swanson, are you with us now? >> i am, dave. thank you so much. >> well, thank you for joining us. what are your immediate thoughts after you lost a loved one on flight 93 -- what's your immediate reaction to hearing about the death of osama bin laden? >> first of all let me thank president obama and our courageous troops for making sure that america justice shows the kind of patience necessary

to help support our democracy. and as you said my cousin, who was a senior flight attendant on flight 93 and her fellow crew members and passengers were true heros because they understood what was going on through cell phone communications and decided to challenge the terrorist before that plane could reach washington d.c. and do more harm. >> it may sound trite to ask, do you ever get over the hurt feeling of that day? >> well, we can't get over the hurt feeling. as you know she was a twin. and so her sister reminds us every day of her and her caring ways. my family like all the families that have victims in 9/11 feel relieved that american justice

in charge of foreign affairs advising the president on foreign policies. and this news certainly affecting around the world -- people around the world, governments around the world. we have seen reaction from around the world. so right now we're looking live at washington d.c. right now where we are again waiting for secretary of state hillary clinton to come out and make a formal address. >> well, the implications are so widespread because u.s. policies, security changes that are happening at airports. we heard bart here in the bay area increasing security. and also relations with the united states will have with its allies as well as potential enemies are being effected by what secretary clinton will be saying on behalf of the united states. >> right. this could certainly make her job even bigger because, again, as you mentioned warning around the world for american travelers, americans abroad and that will certainly be watched. of course president obama last night in his speech last night

ring the opening bell in new york this morning. could be very interesting because when that news came out i immediately went on and looked at the futures what was happening in asia and how it looked like the markets were opening in europe and here in the u.s. and they shot right up. they came back a little bit overnight. but there's the opening bell live and it looks like it's going to be a pretty good day of course in response to the news that osama bin laden has been killed. wow. all right. we will go ahead and say good morning to you. we thank you for joining us here on the ktvu morning news monday may 2nd. i'm dave clark. good morning. i'm pam cook. time now 6:30. well, in the news right now what everyone's talking about the government of saudi arabia says it hopes the killing of osama bin laden will boost efforts to fight terrorism. osama bin laden was originally from saudi arabia. he was stripped of his citizenship after he criticized the royal family's acceptance of u.s. troops in saudi arabia. we've also learned this morning that osama bin laden's body has

already been buried at sea. a u.s. official said that's in keeping with islamic tradition that requires the body be buried within 24 hours. bin laden's death came after a deadly fire fight at his fortified compound in pam san. you're looking at video showing that compound on fire shortly after the raid. osama bin laden was reportedly shot in the head and killed. the compound was built about five years ago according to reports this morning. the white house says they found out about it earlier this year. now president obama announced the killing of osama bin laden in a dramatic white house speech last night. >> a small team of americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability. no americans were harmed. they took care to avoid civilian casualties. after a fire fight, they killed osama bin laden and took custody of his body.

>> now during his speech the president said osama bin laden was not a muslim leader. he called bin laden a mass murder of muslims. and the president reaffirmed that the united states is not at war with muslims. president obama announced osama bin laden's death about 8:30 last night. he made the announcement from the white house. and we showed it to you here live. that immediately brought out thousands of people to celebrate right outside the gates of the white house. >> usa, usa. >> you can hear for yourself this crowd started forming right as the president began his statement announcing the death of osama bin laden. the crowd last night may have been the largest to gather spontaneously outside the white house since president obama's election night victory in 2008. the news of bin laden's death also brought a huge crowd in new york this morning and last night. want to -- we've been looking

at ground zero. here's the scene last night where a large crowd gathered. still remains this morning. we've been dipping in to check out the people still gathered this morning. this of course where so many people lost their lives and loved ones on september 11, 2001 at the hands of osama bin laden. shortly after the president announced bin laden's death a patriotic celebration began. >> my favorite bartender turned off the baseball game and put this on. i knew this was a historic moment and i had to be here myself. >> huge crowd began singing the star spangled banner. others could be heard chanting usa. looking at people just celebrating the news. many people in the crowds say they didn't want to miss out on this momentous occasion. [ cheering and applause ]

while news of bin laden's death caused celebration, new york city's mayor bloomberg says he hopes 9/11 families can find some kind of closure from this. many bay area families who lost loved ones on 9/11 are reacting with strong emotions to the news of the death of osama bin laden. jack was in his san raphael home when president obama delivered the stunning news that the master mind of september 11 is dead. it's the news he's waited ten long years to hear. >> thinking about all the people that were lost because of this man and all the people affected by that loss. and all the people globally that continue to be effected by terrorism. maybe it's a big beautiful day and a step in the right direction. >> his pregnant wife, lauren, was among the heros of united flight 93, that san francisco

bound plane that crashed in pennsylvania. several passengers rushed the cockpit as you remember and stopped the terrorists from crashing into what was believed their intended target either the white house or the capitol building. he says he will spend today trying to get in contact with other flight 93 families. well, the bin laden announcement is raising questions about airport security. ktvu's allie rasmus joins us now with -- from sfo with what travelers can expect and warnings for americans abroad. allie. >> reporter: well, the state department has issued a worldwide alert for all u.s. citizens living and traveling abroad warning there's an enhanced risk for anti-american violence in retaliation for the death of osama bin laden. right now we are outside terminal 2 at sfo where the security level is pretty much unchanged. you're taking a look at the security check point. you can see a large line there, but according to the duty manager i spoke with this morning, they aren't doing much they aren't changing much when it comes to the security

presence here at the airport. this morning i also did talk to some tsa officials inside the international terminal. they said they weren't authorized to tell us much but said that plans for security here at sfo could change later in the day and that they would be meeting to discuss the security plan for the rest of the afternoon. now some passengers we talk today say they wouldn't be surprised if something changed here in terms of security. they were expecting to see more going on here. >> i can't imagine there's not some sort of even if it's just tsa activity or something that would change because of it. >> reporter: now while the security level is relatively normal here at sfo and at the bay areas other airports, it's been a different story at airports across the country. in new york, new jersey, washington d.c. and los angeles if you're traveling to one of those areas you can expect to see a very noticeably increased security presence over there. for now live in san francisco, allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2

news. all right. we're following breaking news this morning. let's listen in as secretary of state hillary clinton makes her formal announcement. >> voids they left, but i hope their families can now find some comfort in the fact that justice has been served. second, i want to join the president in honoring the courage and commitment of the brave men and women who serve our country and have worked tirelessly and relentlessly for more than a decade to track down and bring osama bin laden, this terrorist, to justice. from our troops and our intelligence experts to our diplomats and our law enforcement officials, this has been a broad deep very impressive effort. here at the state department we have worked to forge a

worldwide anti-terror network. we have drawn together the effort and energy of friends, partners and allies on every continent. our partnerships including our close cooperation with pakistan have helped put unprecedented pressure on al qaeda and its leadership. continued cooperation will be just as important in the days ahead because even as we mark this milestone, we should not forget that the battle to stop al qaeda and its syndicate of terror will not end with the death of bin laden. indeed we must take this opportunity to renew our resolve and redouble our efforts. in afghanistan we will continue taking the fight to al qaeda and their taliban allies while working to support the afghan people as they build a stronger government and begin to take

responsibility for their own security. we are implementing the strategy for transition approved by nato at the summit in lisbon and we are supporting an afghan led political process that seeks to isolate al qaeda and end the insurgency. our message to the taliban remains the same, but today it may have even greater resonance. you cannot wait us out. you cannot defeat us, but you can make the choice to abandon al qaeda and participate in a peaceful, political process. >> we've been listening live. the secretary of state hillary clinton speaking from the state department on the death of the killing of osama bin laden. we'll have much more of her comments and continued reaction to that throughout the morning

there are no major problems. even though we can't see the toll it's realtively light coming into san francisco with no major problem. also on the peninsula traffic moving well on 101 and 280 heading to the east bay traffic moves well. at 6:40 let's go to steve. all right, sal, thank you. we do have cooler weather today. in fact what's going to happen is we have the fog coming back to the coast. the fog returns and that means temperatures by the waters edge will cool down. so 50s by the coast some 40s though inland. now i'm kind of splitting the difference here because there are some low 40s out to santa rosa and also napa. and what also we're going to see is around the noontime hour mostly sunny. now that fog will just be kind of hanging out by the coast but it's there. had a couple twitter pictures coming in with some fog reports along the coast. and then inland areas will still be sunny. upper 70s around the bay. 70 and 60s closer to the coast. it's sunny for many already.

but it's going to be cooler. the allergy, pollen count corporates to be really high especially those trees. and then grasses are not far away. weeds have eased up a little bit but they'll probably still be high for the next couple days or weeks. system moving into the north is responsible for a cool down. and you can see the spread there between napa and fairfield. one has wind, fairfield southwest. and then napa airport says calm. so there's 40 to 56 that's pretty significant. 51 hayward, 40s for many. livermore in there. concord, san raphael, redwood city. oakland will be clear today. maybe patchy fog for a little bit. 50, 64 then a high of 70. and that system that's moving in right there the low is skirting in to seattle and portland. we're on the southern edge of it. that's our cool down today. by tuesday we turn things around as high pressure builds in and it's really going to kick in in a big way on wednesday with temperatures maybe close to 90 inland. did he say that? i did. i did. sunny and cooler today. westerly breeze. so 50s, 60s by the beaches.

know what was going on at first. many wondered why the crowd was chanting. someone finally went down and told the players. time now 6:46. afghanistan has been the main focus of the u.s. war on terrorism ever since 9/11. one of the largest afghan communities in the united states is right here in the bay area. ktvu's jade hernandez getting reaction on bin laden's death from little kabul in fremont. good morning, jade. >> reporter: good morning. we just spoke to a woman who dropped her son off to the islamic center just behind me. she told me that she hopes there's no backlash over bin laden's death. fremont has a very large afghan community. the largest in the united states. and nowhere is that more evident than right here along this avenue. you can see the islamic center right here. you can see little kabul market just next door. and just down at the end of the strip mall another nonprofit islamic education center. we spoke briefly to a man hurriedly headed to prayer this morning. he did not want to comment for our story, but someone who did speak to us on camera giving us

his reaction on the death of bin laden. a middle east history professor from stanford. he says it's symbolic and a blow to al qaeda morale. the threat of al qaeda is not gone. >> well first like all americans i imagine i'm happy he's been killed. i would have preferred he be put on trial, but if not this is next best. >> reporter: the executive director of a nonprofit group right here in fremont which pushes understanding between muslims and the u.s. sent out a statement about five hours ago as more details continue to come down about bin laden's death. he said "with major chapter of the war on terror closed by the death of osama bin laden, we hope for a new chapter of dialogue and peace between the u.s. and muslim world." his organization's motto leading the way towards a better tomorrow. and as i mentioned just a few minutes ago i spoke to a woman who dropped her son off at the islamic center this morning. you're going to hear from her

coming up through mornings on 2. reporting live, jade hernandez, ktvu channel 2 news. all right. here's a quick look at some of the other top stories we're following right now at 6:48. pg&e may start tests this week on pipelines similar to the one that blew up in san bruno last year. pressurized water will be used to check 150 miles of pipeline beginning in antioch and mountain view. richmond police are telling ktvu this morning they're searching for a man who stabbed another man on an ac transit bus. it happened about 8:00 last night on the 72 line at san pablo and barrett avenues. police say there was an argument before the attack. the 26-year-old victim is expected to survive. the california department of water resources will kick its fifth and final snow survey of the season. last month's survey showed a statewide average that's 163% above normal. all right. 6:49 is the time. back to sal to check in. hopefully no big problems for

the commute. not a lot of big problems. seems just a little lighter today out there on the morning commute. let's do outside and look at interstate 880. looks good as you're driving up to the coliseum. no major problems there. also the morning commute is looking good if you are driving on westbound san mateo bridge getting out to the high-rise. it seems to be maybe a little spring break action going or for whatever reason it's a little lighter. also the morning drive is okay across the dumbarton bridge. we've been looking at that as well. if you're on 280 or 101 so far so good. 6:50. let's go to steve. sal, thank you. coastal fog is back. kind of shallow but it's there. starting to fill in go north and south. it's starting to move down towards santa cruz coastline and up the sonoma coast. temperatures today will come down. most of the drop by the waters edge. cooler, breezy, not as warm as sunday. but by wednesday it will. tomorrow cool morning, sunny and warmer. by wednesday sunshine warm. that said next week should say

wednesday. temperatures upper 80s to near 90 inland. low in the pacific northwest is dragging across and giving a more westerly breeze. low 40s very low right at napa to mid-50s fairfield. a lot of upper 40s and low 50s for many with more of a westerly or southwesterly wind after that low goes through later today. and then by tomorrow high pressure comes back and it says i'm going to warm things up. but today we bring it down a little bit. biggest drop again will be over by the beaches. so 50s, 60s there. some 70s around the bay. upper 70s but mainly 60s and low 70s closer today water f. lao 80s. danville 78. alameda berkeley 68. 78 saratoga. 74 fremont. and we'll go low 60s, upper 50s anywhere near that fog. it will be a chilly day for some. then peninsula a lot of mid-70 including men lo park and redwood city at 75. warmer tuesday and warmer on wednesday. then we start to see a change coming in late thursday. carry that into friday for a cool down.

looks like a pretty good cool down into the weekend. all right. thank you, steve. today southwest airlines plans to wrap up its deal to buy another discount airline. southwest says it will start merging its assets and programs with air tran. but industry analysts say for the first few months passengers will only see small changes. all right. let's check in on the numbers because certainly a lot of people expecting some kind of response after the big news that osama bin laden was killed. live look at the big board on the new york stock exchange. dow jones up not a lot. up about 33 points though to 12,843. a much higher opening right when that news broke out but tingles settled in overnight there's some economic news possibly effecting that. again, dow is up right now. all right. time now 6:52. everybody seems to be reacting to the death of osama bin laden including the religious community. coming up what the vatican is saying to those celebrating bin laden's death. back here in the bay area san jose woman killed by a

suspected drunk driver right in her own front yard. what neighbors say she did moments before that likely saved her grandson's life. good morning. right now there is still activity at the corner of 24th and mission. scene of a very serious accident that has street closed and several muni buses rerouted in that area.

welcome back to the morning news. reaction about osama bin laden's death is also coming in from religious communities. the spokesperson for pope benedict and the vatican says bin laden will have to answer to god for being responsible for so many deaths. that spokesman went onto say that the terrorist leader will also have to explain to god about his exploitation of religion to spread hate. the vatican says christians shouldn't celebrate someone's death, but instead hope for more peace. time now 6:56. suspected drunk driver in san jose hit and killed a woman who was out gardening in her front yard. the crash actually caved in part of a house at snell avenue. witnesses say the driver jumped the sidewalk, pinned the woman to the house, then the driver drove off. the victim identified as a 79- year-old later died at the hospital. neighbors say the woman's grandson was in the front yard

moments before that crash. >> her grandson where she happened to tell him to go get the broom and everything in the back because if he was standing there would have killed him as well. >> just moments before all of this police say the 28-year-old female driver left the scene of another hit-and-run crash on blossom hill road. the victim in that crash actually followed her and called the police. police arrested that driver and three passengers after they crashed into a parked car. and police say alcohol was indeed involved. traffic not so bad in many areas. sal has a bit of a theory. i think it may be a little bit of spring break action going on. we have one area that's not good. this car ran into a fire hydrant a few hours ago and still doing an investigation 24th and mission san francisco police officers have been there for hours now doing an investigation on this very serious crash. and the area is going to be a good area to stay away from westbound bay bridge backed up for about a 15 minute delay.
