authorities in new york state say a number of human remains found on long island are the work of two killers. over a four month period they found the remains of 10 people. that includes the head of a prostitute missing since 2003 and found the remains of a little girl. it happened again. an attack at napa state hospital, what the hospital did to help workers product themselves. california's high-speed rail project, what it means for construction jobs in our state. which airport should you fly out of to get the best deal? we will show you the differences in prices next.

when it comes to high-speed rail, florida's loss is california's gain. the project received a big wind fall. >> if see settle our children will fight paralyzing congestion and suffer from an economy stuck in neutral. >> the obama administration today moved closer to its goal. florida said no thanks to $2 billion in funds. the transportation department is dividing that money among 15 states.

california's share, $300 million. >> for this pot, it was competitive, lot of projects. >> the california high-speed rail authority plans to use the funds fooextend the central valley segment. diane feinstein said, no other state is as ready and able to lead the way in demonstrating high-speed rail. these funds will support thousands of new manufacturing, construction and technology jobs in california. california's high-speed rail system has $6.3 billion in funds in hands. >> some of that money will benefit existing passenger rail systems, including california. the money will be used to improve service in the northeast. the largest share, $795 million will help trains go faster between boston and washington d.c. amtrak will use $450

million to improve trip times between philadelphia and new york. in california, they will get $68 million for new rail equipment. bay area airports, in a report, the statistics shows san jose airfare at $270. oakland $295, san francisco $381. the most expensative airport was new jersey, the cheapest, atlantic city's airport. after careful evaluation and more than 20 proposals a company looking for a second home narrowed the list down to six. they are considering to

from the outside here you can't tell there is any trouble at this hospital in napa. but at least one person says working at a prison would be safer than working here. a new attack just this weekend is prompting a new wave of security concerns. a technician was killed there last fall. ktvu's john sasaki live now where workers say they are afraid for their lives. >> reporter: one day after this attack we are at the front gates of napa state hospital. >> war zone out there. stressful. >> reporter: from the outside it looks peaceful but to the

workers inside, it is anything but. >> you don't find a document that says there is a potential of being assaulted, kicked, spit on, murdered, raped. you have no idea. you have no idea when you sign up for this. >> a technician was attacked beater yesterday afternoon. >> he was hit repeatedly in the head. >> reporter: i obtained an e- mail about the incident that said no major injuries reported, no hospitalizations reported and no staff was taken to the hospital. >> they soften it down to a point where it sounds like it wasn't much of anything. >> reporter: officials told me the patient who assaulted the staffer wasn't arrested. >> how many bloodry bodies iwill it take to get them to wake up? and help us. staffers believe the

other rules. police released the names of two men killed in a shooting saturday morning. the victims were identified. both lived in san jose. investigators say the two men were sitting with other people in the garage of a house when a man walked up and shot and killed them. a juvenile was also injured in the shooting. the shooter ran off. police are still looking looking for him tonight and trying to figure out the motive. in the 1st quarter of 201136% of the homes sold went for less than the sellers paid for them. in san mateo 31% were sold at a loss. there are new rules being proposed that would make it

did you know there are some commuters spending 5-$15 a week on gas? sales of motorcycles and scooters surged as gas prices shot through the roof. ktvu's robert handa shows us why that is also causing concern. >> reporter: business is good here. many people we talk to are considering buying a scooter or a microscope. that means more sales and more concerns about safety. >> reporter: he moved to san jose from florida and communities on a motorcycle.
