in november they delayed the trial till today and today the trial wasiance again delayed. the shooting that killed three people at san jose state university last night. some students are complaining the emergency alert system took too long to go into effect. ktvu's maureen naylor is here now. . >> reporter: half hour after the shooting here that garage the first alert went out. the delay via phone and e-mail those has students concerned. >> reporter: this is the first alert message sent out. >> the suspect is in custody. >> i got it at 12:00 in the morning. >> i am sure they did the best they could. it was late.

gas futures tumbled today after a report americans are driving less. u.s. gas demand dropped for the 7th week in a row and that suggests high gas prices are the same. prices did increase by a penny today to an average ovately dollars 96. as ktvu's carol reports --

a memorial to the tragedy is now complete. the memorial lists the names of the 918 people who died in a murder-suicide on november 18, 1978. the list also includes revland jim jones, the leader who encouraged his followers to commit suicide. that angered some of the relatives. this year marks the anniversary of the peace corps bullet volunteers say during their years of service they were the victim of sexual assault. >> raped me and forced other objects inside my body. >> he raped and beat me. i prayed to live, after that i prayed to die. >> volunteers appeared for the
