topping our news right now, giants' fan, bryan stow, is on his way from los angeles to the bay area. he's been in an l.a. hospital for the last six weeks since being severely beaten outside stadium. this is the burbank airport where stow will be flown up to san francisco. it looks like the camera is zooming in on an ambulance that's moving on the tarmac we know it's a private jet is there. again, live pictures from burbank airport. we believe that bryan stow is

in that ambulance on his way to the small jet that will take him to san francisco. we want to go to david stevenson at sf general, where preparations are underway for stow's arrival. >> reporter: good morning. this morning we're learning the logistics of bringing him home to the bay area. these are pictures taken just under an hour ago. you can see him being escorted by los angeles police officers to a burbank airport. especially chart -- a specially chartered plane with a medical crew aboard is set to take off and arrive at san francisco airport at about 1:30 this afternoon. he will then be brought here in

an amr ambulance. amr is the company that stow works for as a paramedic. hope is that this trauma hospital can can provide him with the care he needs to make a full recovery. we understand that he's no longer in a medically-induced coma. his parents say he does respond and his eyes open but he faces a long way to recovery. >> if he turns his eyes will move, if you touch him, he responds. >> i just want him to say hi with a smile. hi, mom, dad. >> reporter: now the reward for the people who tweet stow has grown to $150,000. later today, we expect to hear from doctors who treated stow. we'll have that for you tonight on the ktvu news at 5:00.

david stevenson, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, david. >> we want to take you back live right now to the burbank airport as the camera is closing in on the ambulance there at the center of your screen. and that's where bryan stow is in that ambulance getting ready to board that private medical jet that will take him up to san francisco. we do see some of the medical technicians there, by the plane making some final preparations. again, as david was mentioning, bryan stow was beaten outside giants' stadium. he was put in a medically- induced coma for several weeks. they tried several times to take him off the medications but he had some seizures. he's off the medication now. he's in a coma state but his family says he does respond to some stimulation. so it's hoped that when brought to the bay area, he will be closer to his family, home and

friends that the hospital will be able to treat him and help him -- it will be a slow recovery but again, make somewhat of a recovery from the situation from his medical situation right now, which is still deemed very serious. it looks like they are transferring some equipment right now that would help make the flight more comfortable for bryan stow ands some of his family members a -- and some of his family members as well. we'll have more on the witness at ktvu.com as well as ways to donate to help the stow family. a very active theft ring has been busted in the east bay. jade hernandez joins us live from oakland. >> reporter: thousands may not may -- thousands may -- may be

affected and not just in this area. the u.s. secret service and oakland pd detailed one operation which could open up a huge identity theft ring. these pictures come from michelle williams' home in hayward. police say she was operating a huge identity theft ring which may involve other suspects. the oakland police department became involved in late january, early february. among the confiscated goods, disks filmed with came driver's licenses. >> i know what keeps me awake at night is the thought that someone may steal my accounts. that's what we are gonna talk about today. >> reporter: what you were just hearing, chief batts talking at a press conference that wrapped up 45 minutes ago. he described what was found inside williams' home, including social security cards, printers and fake names. now, williams told police she's

burbank. you can see them saying their goodbyes as they get ready to take off and take off and fly bryan up here, back home, basically. he has not been back home since he went to the season opener at dodger stadium back in march. turning to other news, governor brown will release a revised budget state. an hour ago he presented his new $88.8 billion budget in a live webcast from sacramento. the revised plan calls for a 5% increase in spend over the plan he relebonesed in january. that -- he released in january. he says tax extensions still need to be renewed to close the

deficit. >> that debt, by my plan, by the time we get to 2014, we're gonna pay it down to $6 billion. if you adopt the republican deficit, that's $35. that $35 will go up. it will go up. >> his plan is for the fiscal year that begins this july 1st. lawmakers have until june 13th to approval it -- approve it. a tussle over an old oak tree has been put on hold for now. kraig debro is live with more about why there is still tension over this issue. kraig? >> reporter: tori, there's been some moment late this morning. the tree at the center of the controversy is still standing. pipes have been moved. even though the supporters know they probably won't try to cut down the tree today they still went to court to get it prevented anyway. >> we've been hearing this
