good morning. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. and we begin with the six scandal behind the breakup of arnold schwarzenegger and maria shriver. today's "laugh times" reports that the -- "louisiana times"la times "reports that couple separated due to arnold schwarzenegger fathering a child. >> reporter: good morning. this revelation appears to be tied with the sudden separation that arnold schwarzenegger and maria shriver announced just last week after 25 years of marriage. the "l.a. times" is reporting that schwarzenegger recent slip told his wife about the -- recently told his wife about the child he had out of wedlock with a

member of the staff. now, that woman just retired. maria shriver stood by arnold schwarzenegger when other allegations came out about groping. but this time, maria shriver moved out. people don't blame them. >> eventually, it comes out. >> reporter: eventually. >> eventually. i don't care who you are. >> reporter: schwarzenegger said "there are no excuses. i take full responsibility for the hurt i've caused. i've apologized to maria, my children and my family." no comment from maria shriver. shriver and schwarzenegger have four children of their own between 13 and 1 years old. that household staff member has not been identified. back to you. >> thank you. the owners of six homes on a sliding hillside in san san pablo are worried about what the city council is doing.

allie rasmus joins us with why the landslide is no longer an emergency. >> reporter: well, dave, we're standing right next to the landslide at very center of this debate. the worst of this happened in march. the damage is still very visible. this home doesn't even have a backyard anymore because dirt and mud is pressing up against the house. this patio table umbrella, we just noticed this. is basically buried in the mud out here. this is not the only home affected. three at the top of the hill, three at the bottom. city leaders say even though this looks unsettling, they say the ground on the hillside is relatively stable, that it has not moved significantly in the last six months ago.

the homeowners affected -- now, the city council was to make a decision to strip the emergency declaration last night. they postponed it until last month. one homeowner said she actually start drying when she heard the city was even thinking about this. >> i couldn't believe i was hearing that. i thought i was gonna hear something or someone was gonna come in and help us out. i've heard nothing but rhetoric. >> now, the other homeowners are also very upset about the city's decision, what the city is considering to do. the back patio, that yellow house was yellow-tagged. the home next door to it was red-tagged. that family had to move out because the home was deemed unsafe to live in.

now, city leaders say in their defense, the homeowners probably wouldn't get any of that government funding to fix the problem anyway because of the area affected is on private property. in the meantime, these homeowners say they feel abandoned. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. 7:04. this morning, los angeles police will give an update on the search for the two men who brutally beat bryan stow. the l.a.p.d. has been following up with hundreds of leads ever since the attack outside of dodger stadium six weeks ago. the tips have increased dramatically after these billboards went up along the freeway. they show the suspects' composite sketches and the reward amount. bryan stow was moved to san francisco from los angeles yesterday. city officials have been sharply divided on this yakdown.

oakland mayor jean quan says imposing severe restrictions on suspected gang members in north oakland has raised several very serious questions. however, supporterses say the injunction has been tremendously effective in cutting gang violence. they even want to expand the countdown to the fruitvale neighborhood. more on this at 7:30. meantime, the oakland police department is considering reorganizing its main investigatish branch. police say it would make the criminal investigation more effective. officers would work in each of the homicide, robbery and assault categories instead of just one. but the head of the reorganization says property crimes would be given a lower priority and may not be investigated. oakland police say nothing will be finalized until the middle of the summer. the former president of the healdsburg youth soccer league

took a plea deal in the stealing of league funds. 38-year-old kyle hoffman pleaded no contest to three counts of grand theft. authorities say he was writing next to himself and took more than $53,000 over three years. league board members began investigating when bills weren't being paid. there's new information on the food fight at this school in the cafeteria. 30 students were involved. the school says all 100 seniors involved will have to write a letter about the food fight and whether they knew about it before it happened. they said everyone will get to attend the prom and garage wakes. but wakes -- the prom and graduation nights. but those involved won't be able to go to post-graduation

activities. 7:07. happening now, a live senate hearing on u.s. oil production is just getting underway, with testimony from interior secretary, ken ra czar and -- ren salazar, you are looking at live pictures of the hearing. president obama's plan for offshore drill something expected to take priority.

no bay area senators supported the bill for california offshore drilling and the bill is likely not to pass. next week, the senate will hold another hearing about replacing a gas tax with one based on miles driven. the 18.4 cent a gallon tax has not been raised since 1993 and with more fuel-efficient vehicles on the road, revenue is dropping for road maintenance. that will look at the benefits and drawbacks of a vehicle's miles tax. all right. 7:07. a lot of people driving around today trying to get to work and school and elsewhere. let's check in with sal for an update on the commute. >> right now the traffic -- it has not been all that bad in the last few minutes. in fact, we had a worst commute in the 6:00 hour. it's pretty typical at the bay

bridge. it's been responsible, we think, anyway, for a lunch of collisions out there. let's move along and take a look at the commute on the san mateo bridge. westbound 92, moderately heavy. if you are driving in hayward, 880 southbound, and then into the south bay, the commute is not all that bad. 85, some slowing already. north of 87 it begins to slow down on the way into saratoga. let's go to steve. >> cloudy skies, dreary, kind of breezy, cool, light rain. 7:00 observation, san jose, sfo say light rain. most say cloudy and cool with the low 50s. kazooler row picked up 1.50 of

attempted rain claims against him. a judge has denied bail for strauss-kahn. he will be back in court on friday. alison burns, ktvu channel 2 news. 7:17. well, the king of jordan is now in washington, d.c. king abdullah ii is meeting with president obama at the white house. now, on thursday, he'll make a speech at the state department on his views on what's happening in the middle east. also right now the senate foreign relations committee is holing a hearing on u.s./pakistan raids that killed osama bin laden. there's senator john kerry. he just came back from pakistan. senator kerry says two countries have agreed on what they should do to ease tensions. now, among those steps, today, pakistan will give back the broken tail of a damaged u.s. helicopter used during the raid that killed osama bin laden. after that chopper crashed,

u.s. navy s.e.a.l.s actually tried to destroy it. but the tail section remained intact. in some of these photos that have come out, experts say they've never seen a helicopter like this one and that's leading to speculation it was a kind of new stealth technology. senator kerry negotiated the return of that helicopter when he was in pakistan. this morning, queen elizabeth is in ireland on an historic visit. just hours before her arrival, irish police defused a bomb. this is video of the queen arriving this morning. the bomb defused was found in the luggage apartment of a bus outside of dublin. one other device was examed that was suspicious but turned out to be a host. queen elizabeth is the first to visit ireland since it gained independence in 149. floodwaters on the mississippi river are expected

wife, maria shriver. our reporter bob decastro is live in santa monica with more on the former governor's stunning confession. i know this was a big story in los angeles, bob. >> reporter: it certainly was. we're standing just around the corner from arnold schwarzenegger's personal office. no comment from the offices here. but i can tell you, it was just last week that the former first couple of california announced they were splits up after 25 years. there was a lot of spec lation and now the bombshell worst -- speculation and now the bombshell, arnold schwarzenegger finally admitting to maria shriver that he had fathered this child from a staff member that he has worked with for more than 20 years. the encounter happened ten years ago and that's when maria

shriver left the house. they were saying that the father's -- that the child was her staff member's husband and so maria shriver thought whole time that was the case. now, schwarzenegger has taken responsibility for the child since the beginning. the woman apparently left the staff in january on good terms, retiring after ten years, receiving severence payments. >> reporter: he went on to apologize to maria and family. the couple has four children together. they range in age from 13 to 21. and there's still no comment this morning from maria shriver.

not a great start for wall street today, one, construction of new homes plummeted in april with so many foreclosures out

there. the dow currently down 59 and dropping. nasdaq down 6. s&p down 1. now, another big reason for the markets to be down this morning, hewlett-packard's stock, so far, it's down over 8% after this morning's announcement that it is cutting the full year outlook to $5 a share. that's down 28 cents. hp reported second-quarter revenue actually climbed to $36.1 billion. palo alto-based company released its report a day earlier than expected after an executive memo warned a tough ahead was made public. and na list -- analysts will be closely watching the public offering for linked in, the website for professionals will go public on thursday. the company hopes to raise

millions dollars to headache it biggest in five years. jerry lewis is retiring from the annual telethon that he has made famous. the 85-year-old is giving up hosting duties of the multiple sclerosis association's labor day weekend telethon. lewis has been the host for 45 years but has reduced his contributions because his own health issues and the demands of the job. he will stay in caught, he says. the tele-- stay in the house, though, he says. ktvu is one of the stations that airs the telethon every monday. a 2-year-old girl killed in a crosswalk, her parents now

a backup motorized tram had be used for the tours of alcatraz after an accident yesterday left two people injured. look at these pictures, a 64- year-old mother and her son were on the tram when the tram hit a pipe. that caused the roof of the tram to collapse and other and son they were sitting in the front, they were hit. the two were taken to san francisco general hospital. another family member on board during accident, talked about those injuries. >> it's hard to tell. he has a pretty good gash on his head, my nephew does. my sister's eye -- and i thin he has to be -- thing he has to
