the main change. the sea breeze will be a little stronger today. tomorrow even cooler than today. we will look at your forecast in a few moments. >> we begin with a violate incident. police say a man was stabbed on a popular bus line in the mission district. alley? >> reporter: it anenned around 8:00 last night near this intersection where we standing. it happened on a popular bus line, unis 14 mission. one of the drivers of one of the 14 mission lines this morning told us she would like to see more security on her bus, especially after what

happened yesterday evening. san francisco police say a fight broke out between two groups of men and women riding on the bus. one man suffered multiple stab wounds and lacerations to the head. we are told he is in his 30s, but we don't know his out or his condition this morning. police will be looking at surveillance video to get a better idea of who the suspects are. anyone with information is asked to give san francisco police a call. coming up later this morning, we'll be talking to some of the people who regularly ride the 14 mission line, and them what they have to say about all of this. live in san francisco, ktvu channel 2 news. >> today the world is expected to come to an end. that's according to a christian radio coast named harold

allowed into heaven. well,? people are taking advantage of judgment day by off everying to take personal opportunities off the hands of believes. we checked craig list this morning, and there are a -- craig's list this morning, and there are people willing to take everything from pets to cars and take care of them. new this morning, oakland police are investigating two overnight shootings. the first happened just after 11:00 last night, just around the same time another shooting was reported at 83rd avenue and d streets. this is video from the first shooting. police say one victim died from his injuries, another person walked into kiser hospital with gunshot wounds. officers say they are searching for four black men around 18

years old in connection to both those shootings. four young black men in hoodies are also suspects in a homicide that happened yesterday. witnesses are now reporting that they saw four men running away from this scene on 34th street. police say around 1:00 p.m., they found a man who had been shot while doing his yard work. homicide detectives say the motive for the shooting was robbery. they are now looking at similar cases in the area to see if the same suspects are responsible for those, as well. hundreds of oakland police officers had to pull their guns and return them back to police headquarters. the assistant police chief said the department was in the middle of switching to a new generation of glock handguns this week when they discovered some of the guns malfunctioned during training yesterday. the problem comes a couple of months after many officers reported their radios were not

going to be pretty awesome. we're dealing with sunshine and a few clouds out there. low clouds filling in once again across portions of the bay area, partly to mostly cloudy skies in some areas around san francisco and oakland. most of us dealing with light winds this morning. oakland reporting 8 and san francisco 12 at this time. the afternoon sea breeze will be with us, and that onshore breeze going to cool us down a little bit, especially the afternoon. right now, as we wake up, outside our door this in the morning, very close to what we saw friday morning. 51 in san francisco, 53 in oakland. so for today, we have the clouds out there this morning. our temperatures will dip just a bit. we'll be sitting in the 60s for most of our bay area locations, mostly 70s inland, but a 2 to 4- degree drop from yesterday.

we have a trough building that will deepen over the course of the weekend, and that will continue to bring us that onshore breeze. along the coastline, could be a little tough from pacifica into half moon day. we could see it linger through the afternoon. a few sprinkles over the higher elevations of northern california. if you're headed to the sierra, snow levels quite high, above 7,000 feet, light showers expected. 63 in oakland. along the immediate coastline, we'll be in the upper 50s for the afternoon. 66 mountain view. 67 expected in free month.

still dry, one belonging to fred smith. he made a make shift see you can see he added some cinder blocks where he lifted his home on top of the water, and he is still dry. businesses are open, and the reason being, this team rests on about a natural hundred-foot bluff. so you can see, there's a lot of activity there. they are trying to get people to come by, because they know they are safe. utility line are being monitored. they come by and check out their hopes, waiting for these water levels to recede, so really they can just get back to normal every day life. >> since we have you here, you talk about fred smith there, the resident standing next to you. can you get us a little bit more about the mood of those residents?

are they hoping this water will go away sooner rather than later? and what are theying new their day to day activities? >> reporter: well, it's a resill gent group. they want to get the message out that businesses are still open. obviously people get a little nervous when they see these water levels on tv. they say they are not strangers to flooding, but the mississippi river is about a mile from where would normally be the banks of the in mississippi. so this type of flooding is something they're not used to, but like i tell you, they are very patient and resilient people. they just want to get back to every day life. if they have businesses or they work at businesses, they go back to work. it's still life as usual, as much as it can be. >> all right. certainly a long road ahead. thank you for that live report from saint francisville,

louisiana, this in the morning. >> a five-mile stretch of the surging mississippi river were closed down. four bargingle hauling grain broke free from a 495-foot vessel fire baton rouge yesterday. one was carrying sulfuric acid, but no injuries, and no chemicals spilled. >> the imf fund leader is now free on bond and under house arrest. right now he is staying somewhere near ground zero until at living place is found. he is being watched by guards and monitored electronically.

six people are dead after a suicide bombing in afghanistan. it happened at a military hospital in kabul in a tent where medical students were eating lunch. 23 other people were wounded in the explosion.

the taliban has already claimed credit for the attack. american students of amanda knocks broke down and declared her innocence to a court in italy. she told the court that despite prejudice and mistakes, nothing is more important than finding the truth. independent experts are now reviewing dna evidence and are expected to have results back by june 30th. opening arguments in the trial of the florida mother accused of killing her two-year- old daughter will begin on monday. the jury has been sworn in. however, this process wasn't without controversy. >> you're talking about someone's life, and -- >> that you just burst you heard came while the judge was questioning a potential juror. the woman who interrupted the courtroom was ex-courted out. 25-year-old casey anthony is accused of killing two two yearly daughter who disappeared

if 2008. her body was found five months later. an ohio mother convicted of killing her one-month-old baby in a microwave will spend the rest of her life in prison without the ability of parole. police say china soonerled put the baby in the microwave after a fight with her baby. investigators say in the baby died quickly when it's body temperature reached between 105 and 108 degrees.

a medical examiner is working to identify human remains found buried in a backyard in a home east of los angeles. according to police, the remains are a number of years old. the man who led deputies to the

home is now under arrest, and is being held on $1 million bail. the coast guard has suspended the search for a navy petty officer swept out to sea in san diego county. in the had gone for a swim. military place to say they saw the man get swept out to sea. a help countier and patrol both searched for nearly 24 hours before that search was called off. >> a san francisco police officer is offer something encouragement to the family of injured giants fan brian stow. this is 34-year-old nick forendo. he was involved in an accident with two police cars. he spent several days in a coma. now the same neurosurgeon who worked on him is working with stow who was beaten outside dodger's stadium in march. >> at the time that nick came to the hospital, he was

tied up when aubrey huff sent a game winning double to right field. that represented the giants third straight win and the a's third straight loss. same two teams will go at it again at 4:00 this afternoon. you can see that game right here on ktvu channel 2. brian wilson turns 28 years old today. it's the hippo at the zoo named for the famous giants pitcher. the hippo, brian wilson, will be given watermelon and other treats during special feedings this weekend. zoo officials hope the pitcher brian wilson will be able to stop by this summer. according to an oakland- based preacher, the world is going to end at 6:00 tonight, but one group is calling his bluff with billboards and a

earthquakes will end the world in the 6:00 p.m. time zone. right now it's past 6:00 p.m. in other parts of the world, and there have been no reports of any disaster. yesterday officer jason hedrick son appeared in court. police say the officer gave a woman some marijuana to sell because he was in love with her. his attorney said the charges against him won't hold. >> it's simply one person making a mistake in judgment, and getting involved with somebody he shouldn't have gone involved with. >> the police chief said it's not clear where the marijuana came from. she sales said he act aid loan and there appear to be no other officers -- she also said he act aid loan and there appear to be no other officers involved.

now let's go back to that story on the muni bus. >> reporter: we've been standing out here on mission street where the 14 mission line runs. you can see that the buses are packed. this is one of the most popular bus lines in this neighborhood. and there's no say it was around 8:00 last night when one of these -- a fight broke out on one of the buses. police say that fight broke out between two men, or two groups of men and 27. one man suffered multiple stab wounds and injuries to his head. one of the mission drivers told us she wants better security on these buses, especially after what happened last night. another muni driver told us that scuffles like the one last night are a problem for muni. do you they're your co workers talking about fights? >> every day. >> reporter: how do they describe them? what are their thoughts about it? >> the thoughts are just --

it's a safety issue, for the passengers and the bus drivers. >> reporter: thee on-board fight occurs at this intersection. anyone with information is asked to call san francisco police. according to statistics, the 14 mission bus has the biggest problem when it cops to crime. it accounts for 8% of all of the violent incidents that happened in the muni system. the second runner up is the 38 yeary line. recent violence in east oakland has renewed a call to bridge the gap between the community and the police department. officers say there has been a spike in shootings because of a feud between two different groups, and the threat of violence and what sources say led to the fatal officer-

involved shoots wednesday night. police responded to current avenue, and when they arrived, shots were fired and two men were killed. residents say the relationship between police and the community needs to improve. >> they have to let us help with them. they have to stop shooting us and thinking we deserve it. >> she would like to get officers out of their patrol car and interacting with residents, but some don't think that is enough. some say living with the sound of gunfire has just become part of life. they tell us they worry about being caught in the crossfire and that moving out of oakland is the only option. a man is recovering this morning after crashing his hang

good morning to you. a beautiful look there across the bay area. overall is a nice-looking day. people living in turkey are assessing the damage this in the morning after a 5.9 magnitude earthquake. two people were killed and about two dozen others were injured. aftershocks have continued to rock the area since the quake hit thursday night. a mexican border city notorious for drug-related violence has seen a drop in the numbers. officials say murder rates have dropped in juarez. more than 30,000 people have died in drug-related violence in mexico in the last five

one of the most popular bus routes in this neighborhood, muni's 14 mission. as early as 6:00, we've seen passengers standing shoulder to shoulder on the 14 mission bus. it is definitely a popular route. one of the drivers of to the buses this in the morning said she would like to see more security on her bus, especially after what happened yesterday. one man had to go to the hospital with stab wounds after san francisco police say a fight broke out between a group of men and women riding on the bus. the fern who was injured, we're told -- the person who was injured, we're told, is a 30- year-old man. we tonight know his condition this in the morning. but spokesman paul rose said there is some evidence that police will be looking in that their investigation. >> what we're doing right now is working with the police department to pull the video from the bus and get that video to the police department so they have all of the information they need to apreend him when they need to. >> so the good news ask there

is surveillance video nat was -- video that was working that night on the bus? >> yes, there is. >> reporter: according to police statistics, the 14 mission bus has the biggest problem with crime, making up about 8% of all of the crime incidents reported on muni. the 38 geary was the second most problematic bus, but the line's spokesman said this is common when dealing with a mass transit system in a big city like san francisco, and that his the muni is a safe system. police are investigating two overnight shootings. the first happened just after 8:00 last night in east oakland. about the same time, a second shooting was reported at 83rd avenue and d street. this is video from the scene of that first shooting on 90th. police say one victim here died

at the scene, another person walked into kiser hospital with gunshot wounds. officers say they are searching for four black males around 18 years old in connection to both of those shootings. we are now learning more about the suspects who shot and killed a man and oakland yesterday. four young black men were seen running from the scene. around 1:00 if the afternoon, they found one man who had been shot while doing yard work. homicide detectives say the motive was robbery. they are now looking at other cases in the area to see if the same suspects may be responsible. the world is expected to end at 6:00 p.m. toronto according to christian radio host harold camping who lives right here. this spot in the first time he has predicted the end of life as we know it. back in 1994, camping said the world would spend we would expect the second coming to have jesus.

a slight cool down for the afternoon. a medical examiner is working to identify human remains found buries in a backyard. police made the discovery yesterday in a home east of los angeles. the remains are a number of years old. the man who actually led deputies to the home is now under arrest and being held on $1 million pail. some towns along the mississippi river are still inundate with floodwaters. >> but there's still an effort to keep a sense of normalcy. elizabeth, we checked in with you last time. i'm amazed by how well people are dealing with this, considering how long this road is. >> reporter: absolutely. a lot of these residents here tell us that they're used to living near a river, and they know that floods do occur. however, this magnitude is something that people who is lived here for 50, 60 years have never seen before.

the watt level is supposed to crest today, but people who live here said that the level has already begun to drop a little bit. if we pain cross this neighborhood, you can see that for people who live in these homes, it's simply devastating, and they'll say that's an understatement. this house you're looking at now, an 84-year-old man lives there. he comes down every day to take a living at his home. he raised 12 children in that house. that home is at a low point in the row, and that's on 11-foot stilts. fred jones has lived in his home. you can see he took drastic measures to keep that home try. we did speak with some local business owners, and they're safe, because they're sitting on about a 100-foot bluff. they'll be the first to tell you that people simply aren't

coming, for very obvious reasons. >> elizabeth, i know that they're come bagging to check on their homes, and it's great the water has been dropping, but they've been under watt err for so long, are the plans to demolish or rebuild? what's the plan? >> reporter: well, the fact of the matter is this water has been at a very high level for a long time, and we have received reports that this water is putrid. you can actually smell that this water is not necessarily the cleanest. we know it's been carrying debris for miles, so it's certainly an issue of not just a clean up and dry out for many of these people it's a repair and rebuild. we spoke with several residents who have flood insurance, others don't. these people have a very long road ahead. you're right, this water has been high for days, even weeks, and it's not very clean water, like i mentioned.
