elementary school after three young boys were caught simulating sex acts. only on 2, ktvu's john sasaki is live where many parents are demanding answers. john? >> reporter: this is hillcrest school and these are the guidelines for student behavior, what happened here would qualify as an obscene act. the school is regarded as a jewel in the oakland hills. it's not known for children engaging in averant behavior but police were here this morning. >> shouldn't occur in a public space. >> reporter: it happened in a bath room between three boys, 10 and 8 years old. >> it was a game of truth or dare. >> reporter: it happened as they had their pants down. it was discovered last week. parents were shocked to hear

the news. >> very disturbing if it's true. i haven't heard anything. >> reporter: that's what has parents upset. the school hadn't informed them. >> i don't know how long it's been going on. i would like to hear more information about it, it's alarming. >> reporter: sexual incidents happened at other schools. >> there have been multiple incidents, it's something we need to take a look at. we will be meeting to see whether this is something where we need to have a program. >> reporter: this afternoon, the school sent out this e-mail which says the students were pretending and not engaged in sex acts. unclear how the students will be punished. john sasaki, ktvu channel 2 news.

the chp is evaluating its response after a group of protesters rappelled from the bridge and unferralled a huge banner. the protesters dangled over the hours. after two hours they climbed back on to the bridge and rested but it did raise concerns about security. >> our officers patrol that. these individuals came when our officers weren't there. >> as for the protest it was directed at chevron. the company is tied up in a legal fight for polluting the amazon. baby is back with her mother tonight and her grandmother is behind bars. police told us today the grandmother was trying to pass the girl off as her own. >> reporter: i talked with detectives this afternoon in southern california, they confirmed the grandmother had been telling neighbors she was

pregnant and she tried to pass the baby off as her own child. >> reporter: rudy spent the last day and a half worrying about his daughter but he says he had a suspicion on who was responsible. >> my mom is quirky. feels like my mom, something weird. weird, you know? >> reporter: police say that gut feeling was right on. erica gallego took a cab ride from southern california. took the baby and then took another cab all the way back to southern california. investigators say a neighbor thought there was something suspicious to erica gallego's story and that neighbor informed the police. >> erica gallego had no permission to take the baby from the house. >> reporter: rudy says he wants

outbreak appeared to be gang related. officers say 184 prisoners were involved and 10 hand made weapons were found. four inmates were taken to the hospital. a u.s. supreme court ruling could result in the early release of 33,000 california inmates. the justices upheld aryling that california's prison overcrowding is unconstitutional. the judge included photographs. the court said the overcrowding is so bad it violates the ban on cruel and unusual punishment, producing suffering and death. >> this is the right decision, the right decision for our clients who have been suffering for decades. >> this justice said reducing the prison population is gambling with our safety.

on www.ktvu.com we have a slide show of the images. san francisco police arrested a man suspected of steeling computers. we showed you this video on may 13. the man in the video is robert hoffman. he was identified by his parole agent. investigators say he jumped from his apartment in san francisco when police showed up wednesday. he is suspected in two other burglaries. the district attorney wants to make sure crime victims feel safe going to authorities regardless of their immigration status. they signed an agreement today to provide victims services to undocumented mexican immigrants. >> most vulnerable, those hesdant to come to the authorities to report the

against cancer. she has a form of bone cancer. she was diagnosed last christmas. it teen's friends started team heidi, selling wrist bands to raise money for cancer research. >> makes us feel like we have a part of it. we are all doing it in celebration of her. >> the group raised almost $5,000 for the relay for life program. heidi took her diagnosis in stride, coloring her hair blue. crassing the passing of the judgment day, the one part of the prediction that apparently came true.
