"mornings on 2" begins right now. good morning. i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. it's friday, may 27th. we begin with knight news from the oakland hills. right now, police are investigating a break-in and a possible sexual assault at a home near skyline boulevard. ktvu's kraig debro has new information and new video. what have you learned? >> reporter: police have been here since:00 a.m. and they just left. we've been trying to confirm the information for about three hours now. the man in the house declined to speak with us off camera but made a few brief comments indicating his children were

also victims. this is the e-mail that was shot off, and the e-mail does not say anything about an attempted sexual assault or sexual assault. police on scene before they left would not talk to us before they left. they referred us to the spokesperson. that person was not called us back. there's a park directly behind all of these homes on wilton. there was a thought that the man might have escaped in the park. so they searched part of the park. the sergeant we talked with, with east bay regional said there was one k-9 unit involved. neighbors we talked to, one of them said, people here stick together. >> it's a terrible thing.

i'm very shocked about what's happening here. it's a great neighborhood. most of the each other know each other -- most of the people know each other and we watch out for one another. >> reporter: there's a neighborhood watch program, as you can see, there's video -- it's a deterrent to people who might do this. according to the people, clearly there are children inside the home as well. so a scary thing to have happened to anybody, let alone small children living in the house as well. in the e-mail that -- that the victim sent to his neighbors, he said that everybody is okay now, suggesting that nobody was hurt and he said that the oakland police stayed with him all night. but he just wanted everybody to know what happened. they needed to keep an eye out. kraig debro, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, kraig. in just a few hours,

accused serial killer, joseph naso, is scheduled to be back in court. he's scheduled to enter a plea on four counts of murder. he's charged with killing four northern california women in the 1970s and 1990s. he's acting as his own attorney. a marin county judge is considering whether to unseal court documents containing evidence against naso, including a probable cause statement that was sealed. police in the south bay are out there searching for the man somethinged -- suspected of beat up his ex-girlfriend's daughter and leaving her for her dead. campbell police say he beat up the little girl and hid her in the garage. rodriquez is leaved to be -- believed to be hiding somewhere

in san jose or san francisco. there's a possibility that 26 felony cases may be dropped. nation there's new video -- there's new video that may came out. >> reporter: well, dave, a judge do decide -- could decide to throw out 26 cases. it's all alleging because of san francisco -- because san francisco police officers. in the video, officers enter the residence of a person suspected of drug violation. according to jeff adachi, in this instance and several other instandses, the officers searched the -- instances, the officers searched the home illegally. they also claim the officers

took things out homes they shouldn't have and that amounts to theft -- to theft. adachi released video and he's expected to release another video today and he says that video will show more evidence of police wrongdoing. he plans to hold a press conference and at that press conference, the san francisco couple will be there to talk about their experiences with the officers. these allegations started coming out in march. because of them, a total of 80 criminal cases have been dropped by judges and prosecutors. as we mentioned, another 26 felony cases are expected to be dropped later on today at the hall of justice. san francisco police say they are investigating the officer's actions. live in san francisco, allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. an a.t.m. repairman is accused of replacing real money with fake man is in custody after being on the run for about a year.

police say this man was identified on surveillance video stealing about $200,000 from seven a.t.m.s in san francisco and daly city. police say he abandoned his wife and disappeared. he was stopped for a traffic violation in phoenix. he's pleaded not guilty and is due in court for a preliminary hearing. just out this morning, surprising details about the pilots of an air france jet that crashed two years ago. investigators say the data recorder shows the captain was resting at the time of the accident and the two co-pilots were in the cockpit. they say the speed sensors failed and the plane stalled three times on the way to their destination. air traffic control tried to

unaccounted for. the death toll number is likely to go up. we're standing in what was once 89-year-old dorothy bell's home. this is her garage, we see -- we presume because it's concrete. as you walk up into the steps into what we think was her kitchen because of all of the canned goods, you have coffee and a lot of stuff gathered here. as we pan out, you can see all four walls dorothy's house are missing. people on the ground here say, even though she was 89, dorothy volunteered at st. john regional medical center. that's the hospital that made all of the headlines this week, that was destroyed when the twister tore through. an e-f5, meaning winding more that -- winds more than 200 miles an hour raced through. the same pictures you see here continue for miles that way. look at this.

preparedness at the he site of the damaged nuclear reactor plant in japan. an investigation shows the plant operator submitted a one- page of the risk ten years ago. single-page memo reportedly concludes that the facility would remain dry and intact under every scenario. regulators asked for the informationby apparently failedded to verify the calculations, request supporting documents or ask for an update since then. japan is announcing lower radiation limits for children as the outrage grows over the continuing disaster of the fukushima plant. those numbers were set at the same dosage recommended for the workers at the plant. today new limits were announced for children at 1/20th that amount. 7:17. just hours ago, secretary of state, hillary clinton, made a surprise trip to pakistan.

as ktvu's alison burns reports, this comes as relations of the u.s. and pakistan are strained after the u.s. raid that continued osama bin laden. >> reporter: secretary clinton is definitely demanding more from secretary leaders. but she also seems to be defending, saying there's no evidence that the government new that osama bin laden was hiding out near islam islamabad. that's a growing disrust of the u.s. and a recent poll found that 49% of pakistanis don't believe bin laden is dead. >> in solving its problems, pakistan should understand that anti-americanism and conspiracy theories will not make problems

wild life officials are warning people to be careful of moose. moose moms are said to be protective and attacking humans because they think their moose are being attacked. three weeks after a tornado hit burmingham alabama, this missing dog named mason showed up at home. amazing i -- amazingly, he made it home on two days. a vet put devices in those legs until they can heal. >> there's two fractures. they've not been able to be in alignment so neither one of

santa cruz police arrested a man suspected of having a gun, but they are still out there trying to find the gun. police say 19-year-old derrick bonoford picked up a gun off the street that someone threw out of a car last night. this hatched on sacramento avenue. police say they -- happened on sacramento avenue. police say they chased him and he was arrested. but police could not find the

silver, semi-automatic gun with black grips. the school and neighbors have been alerted in the area. two court-appointed doctors say a man killing an east bay community leader is not men tally competent to stand trial. a -- mentally competent to stand trial. a judge will decide next month whether he will testify. the apparent lack of a motive for this killing led investigators to suspect that he may be troubled. a candlelight vigil will be held to remember a cass -- a castro valley teenager. no one was ever been arrested in this case. every year, her family and friends hole a a -- hold a

if you are a b.a.r.t. rider or a commuter right here on bay bridge, you will experience the same delay. the situation has its pros. better news, the bridge won't be closed entirely. bad news, eastbound lanes will be closed from 8:00 at night until 5:00 in the morning. westbound traffic won't be affected. the detours will allow construction crews to work between existing and new bridges to complete the new eastbound lanes. the work done will create a slightly different approach into oakland after the holiday weekend. as for b.a.r.t. this picture was taken on december 19th after fire left damage along the tracks. over the next two weekends, work will create a 20 to 40- minute delay. the assistant manager for operations gave us an example of the cable that will be

an. they've all been released while an investigation continues. new legislation in sacramento could significantly weaken a controversial immigration program. state assembly approved a bill yesterday that would allow california counties to opt out of the security communities program. that's a program that cross-he references anyone booked in the county jail with an immigration database. people found to be in this country illegally are turned over to immigration agents. this bill now goes to the state senate. marin county is planning to fight a bill about closing parks. the head of the county plan to meet with officials said -- today. county officials say creative management ideas may be an alternative solution. a scenic road through

yosemite national park will reopen. drivers will be able to take glacier road into the park. but the national park service says those roads may be wet because of melting snow. tioga road will remain closed because of snow and the threat of avalanche. those conditions could also shut down some trails unexpectedly as travelers pour in. park rangers are asking everyone headed to yosemite to drive carefully because weather conditions and wildlife. b.a.r.t. is about to spend almost $150,000 to equip the department with tasers. the purchase of the tasers was approved dread. right now, if a b.a.r.t. police officer wants a taser, they have to check it out of a common tool of tasers. but the new policy will require every b.a.r.t. officer to carry one taser. one of the board of directors

did you look up in the sky? residents in the southern end of santa clara county right near gilroy had a clear view of the combined spacecraft, the space shuttle station and the "endeavour." but most of us had cloudy skies. so you really couldn't see it. if you did miss it today, you'll get one more chance. sunday morning 4:27. you will be able to look up and see what looks like a really bright star, heading from the southwest section of the sky overhead and racing to the northeast. earlier this morning, two of the space shuttle astronauts, well, it was a milestone while walking in space. the total time spent on spacewalks from u.s. space shuttles topped 1,000 hours. today's spacewalk was the very last one by the space shuttle crews. from now on, all space walks will be performed by full-time

within the past hour, about a half-hour ago, we learned from police that this came in as a possible sexual assault and then about ten minutes ago, at 7:50 i spoke with a couple of detectives and they confirm this was not only a robbery but a sectsual assault. in addition to that -- sexual assault. in addition to that, we got ahold of the e-mail sent to the neighbor. take a look at the e-mail we got. we shot it off the iphone. it reads in part, "a few hours ago, a man broke into our house and then --" we're not show egg e-mail because it has the name of the street on it but it says "a man broke into hour house and held us at gunpoint." we've confirmed with police there was a sexual assault. it does not say there was in the e-mail. the call came in about this at

around 2:00. they were looking for suspects in area. they searched the area. they also said that piedmont police came one a k-9 unit to see if they can find the suspect or suspects. but we talked with the sergeant. she told us that they believe the suspects had already got away. we've been talking to neighbors this morning. they tell us the people that live in the home here are just a typical family. >> the young people, they have is a boy and a girl. very nice, friendly people. they did beautiful work, you can see, to the house right now, on it. i just feel so sorry for them. >> most of the people know each other and you wave at each other and the people on kosher there, they are pretty -- corner there, they are pretty

out there searching for a man suspected of beating up his ex- girlfriend's-year-old daughter and leeching her -- 3-year-old -- ex-girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter and leaving her for dead. investigators say the girl only survived because rodriquez's 15- year-old son discovered her in time. rodriquez may be hiding in -- in san jose or sacramento. in just a few hours, suspected serial killer, joseph naso, is expected to be back this court and he's charged with killing four northern california women in the 1970s and the 1990s and he's acting as his own lawyer. now, marin county -- a marin county judge is considering whether to unseal court documents containing evidence against naso, including a probable cause statement that was held without public notice. it's 8:03. the san francisco police

department is facing new allegations of officer misconduct this morning. meanwhile 26 felony cases could be dropped today relate to previous allegations. allie rasmus is live in the city with what we know about this growing scandal. good morning allie. >> reporter: gening. allegations come from jeff adachi, the public defender. he says he has no -- he has new video that contains more evidence of wrongdoing. he's supposed to release the video. he told ktvu what the video is supposed to contain, he says it's video of the drug bust that happened on the tenderloin street. the officers involved in the drug bust said the person they arrested spit drugs out of his mouth. but he says this is video and it will show the officer's claims are not true and this is another example of how san francisco police officers have not been entirely truthful in their investigations.

now, he began making these allegations about the police officers since back in march. since then, he's released four videos that he says support the claims of misconduct. he says in some of the cases, in several instances followed -- captured on video, the officers illegally searched the residents. also, they took things out of the home they shouldn't have. and adachi says that amounts to theft and misconduct. now, 80 criminal cases have already within dropped from judges and district attorneys. another 26 felony cases are expected to be dropped i -- dropped later on this morning. in the meantime, the san francisco police department says it's looking into the allegations against the officers. but again at a 9:00 hearing at the hall of justice, another 26
