good afternoon. i am john sasaki. this is another big day in court for the san francisco police department as the district attorney decides to drop 26 felony cases because of police misconduct. ktvu's allie rasmus joins us live where the district attorney just spoke. >> the district attorney is still holding a press conference right now on the third floor. he is talking about his decision to not pursue 26 felony cases. most of those cases are drug violation, some are gun violations. the reason the cases will be drop and 7 people get to walk is because the people, the officers involved in investigating the crimes are now under investigation themselves. the fbi is looking into allegations that police officers, some in this video took things from some of the people they arrested and did

not book those items into evidence. there is no record of where those items are and that amounts to theft. he released this video this month and the fall out as we mentioned, 26 cases have now been dropped. >> the fact they dismissed these cases signals they decided the officers can't be relied upon. that they cannot say that the officers can offer credible testimony in the cases. >> reporter: the district attorney says some of the charges could be refile in the future. in addition, another four were dropped earlier this week. over 100 cases have been dropped because of these allegations of police misconduct. 6900 other cases are under review and there could be more because of the number of

investigations this group of officers, san francisco police was involved in. the fbi is investigating the allegations, and in response media relations issued a statement saying the officers in these videos have the same rights as any other citizens and we are operating on that. he says she has yet another video he will release this afternoon that he says shows more evidence of additional police misconduct. david stevenson will have more on that at 5:00. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. a accusedf serial killer joseph naso enters a not guilty police this morning. he is charged with killing 4 women. lee is acting as his own attorney. he says photos of the women

showed them posing on their own free will and they were all alive. the judge will respond by next wednesday. police are investigating the robberyf & rape of a -- robbery and rape of a homeowner this morning. investigators say a man broke into the home, robbed the family and sexually assaulted the female resident. police brought in search dogs but they believe the attacker got away. a candlelight vigil will be held today in memory of a 10 killed 17 years ago. no one has ever been arrested in the case although authorities consider a man as a prime suspect. they hold a family individual every year.

high school students are outraged over the suspension of 5 classmates. they suspended them and banned them from prom after a group photo of them in white. students held a demonstration yesterday saying two of those have no ties to any racial movement. >> wet weather may have caused a accident yesterday. a pick up truck with 7 workers rolled down a hillside killing one and injuring five others. some of the rescuers had to hike miles to the scene. >> the search effort continues in joplin, missouri. number of those missing stands at 156. cassey seagull has more. >> reporter: when you drive through joplin the extent of

. new details about the crash affa jet two years ago. the co-pilots were in control when the emergency began. inconsistent speed readings and the co-pilot pulled the nose of the plane up. it stalled and started to roll. the captain returned from a break as the co-pilot struggled to retain-control. all 228 were killed. secretary of state hillary clinton made a visit to pakistan. pakistan asked the u.s. to reduce the number of military personal there following the raid that killed osama bin laden. hillary clinton said the u.s. can't solve pakistan problems. >> pakistan should understand that anti-americanism and conspiracy theories will not make problems disappears.

president obama is wrapping up a trip to europe. he arrived in warsaw and attended a ceremony for holocaust victims. his trip took him to island, england and france. he had several meetings and a news conference tomorrow. the president could get a bill from the mayor of london. he wants president obama to pay the city's congestion charges for his limo use earlier this week. the charged with be $16 for each car in the president's motorcade. man could face two years in jail after three dui arrests in three days. once in custody police realized he was arrested two other times

. all right. looking at the the stock market. dow up 2929 and u.s. stocks rose friday ahead of a three day weekend. paypal is suing google. they claim two of their executives stole confidencal information about how paypal works. paypal and google had been in negotiations for two yes to provide the payment system for google till google built its own system. new diet for mark zuckerberg, he can only eat the meat of the animals he kills.

weather. everybody is getting away. >> it is. we are moments away in some cases and hopefully you have three days off. it will be cloudy and cooler than many of us are hoping for. the big festival saturday and sunday, people like to go camping and look at what is going on. temperatures in the low 60s around the bay area. coast line 50s. inland, 60s, 70s. some of the inland areas are warming into the 80, concord, livermore, it is typical and we are barely getting to 70. sunday, more sunshine but breezy conditions. when it's this cold and the wind picks up it could feel chilly. memorial day may be the best day. partly cloudy skies. future cast models are predicting more rain tuesday and wednesday. so we can't shake this pattern. >> summer is less than a month
