parents. tara moriarty joins us. >> reporter: police are saying this is a particularly heinous crime. one that has hit their community very hard. they are actually asking the suspects to have some humanity and to surrounder after killing a three-month-old. now yesterday police officers went door to door canvassing the neighborhood on wisteria drive where the incident happened. the family was leaving a baby shower around 1:00 in the morning when two men wearing hooded sweatshirts approached their car. >> as they were leaving the party the gunshots erupted. they saw their infant was struck by a bullet. parents got out of there as fast as they could and try to get the baby to medical care. >> reporter: the baby boy was shot in the head and did die at the hospital. his parents were also shot and are in serious condition.

the mother was shot in the buttock while trying to shield her children. the other child a three-year- old was not harmed. police do believe this family was targeted. the suspects are described as young latino men wearing dark clothing. one man is 5'91"30-140. the other is in his early 20s about the same height 10 pounds with brown hair and dark eyes. the police did catch two men with weapons but are not sure if it's related to this crime. last night dozens of people gathered for a vigil at the scene of that tragic shooting in east palo alto. many city leaders were there among the mourning the loss of the innocent baby. the mayor vows that he will not rest until police capture those responsible. >> we will be steadfast in

tracking them down and making sure that they receive their just deserve. it was the one thing i promised the mother who tragically is still in the hospital. >> religious leaders in east al low alto are helping to track down the killers. a four-year-old antioch boy is being treated at oakland children's hospital after falling out of a second story window. firefighters were called to a home on garden court in antioch just before 4:30 yesterday afternoon. they say the boy was leaning up against a window screen to look outside when he fell about 15 feet on to concrete in the backyard. the child's condition has not been released. overnight just about an hour ago the u.s. military reports five american soldiers have been killed in iraq. the military has not released the cause of death but an iraqi security official says a rocket attack is to blame.

at least three rockets hit and iraqi military base in eastern baghdad where the troops were stationed as advisors. right now one person is in the hospital with serious injuries after a bicycle accident. this is the street view of where the accident happened around 12:30 this morning. not far from l.a. goo that honda hospital. one person was on a bicycle coming down that street. it appears they hit the sensor divide. the accident is under investigation but it does not appear any other vehicles were involved. police say the bicyclist was wearing a helmet. a funeral service is set for friday for both san francisco firefighters killed in the line of duty. anthony valerio and perez were

overcome by fire and smoke in the diamond heights area yesterday. perez died on the day of the fire. valerio died from his injuries on saturday. services will be held at st. mary's cathedral. a memorial is growing at fire station 26 where the fallen firefighters worked. in the lobby helmets bearing their name sit on two chairs. their jackets hang from the back. well wishers have sent flowers and cards. other people dropping off food. >> when a tragedy happens like this. you realize how they put their lines on the line every day. >> first responders took part in a mandatory debriefing which included sessions with counselors. firefighters say it was helpful. you can find images from that deadly fire as well as the very

latest on our channel 2 website just go to ktvu.com and click on the sf firefighter tab on the front page. an autopsy will be conducted on a body found in a trash bag. police say around 10:00 yesterday morning someone found a bloody plastic garbage bag near a house. officers found a body inside but are not sure if it's a man or woman. neighbors tell police they don't remember hearing or seeing anything unusual before the bag was found. police are now investigating this as a suspicious homicide. once the autopsy is complete and will learn more about the victim. this morning oakley police are investigating strongyles. this is video from o'hara park

middle school early saturday morning. that is where 21-year-old james didio was shot and killed by a gunman police say had no motive. when police arrived didio was dead in his friends arms. >> there was no altercation whatsoever. the suspect just approached the three or four people that were in the park and pulls out a firearm and fires. >> last night a vigil was held for di doe. they say he ha no enemies. house say they manage to reitems. today the attorney for the man arrested in the beating of brain 'ised -- the term jer van any -- it's from april 1st the

especially for early june has now move -- the -- maybe the wrap around could give a few lingering showers. a lot of cloud cover over us this morning. there is not much left. it's mild. no doubt about it. san jose 58 and 50 at santa rosa. these are running warmer than we had. there goes the low right there. another low is to the north. soy mean we will warm up a tiny bit but that other low diving down. but the trend is to decrease the rain and get rid of the clouds but not for awhile. morning clouds and sun. lingering rain showers but again off toward the east. mild temps. due to the cloud cover highs are itching to warm up. but they can't do it. maybe some afternoon sun. especially by the coast. i think inland stays cloudy. partly cloudy.

ever researchers have been scrambling to try to identify the source of the e. coli bacteria that has sickened more than 2200 people in germany. the german farm has been shut down and all of its produce recalled. a man who pretended to be a pest control workers is accused of attacking an elderly woman in her car near san jose. the man pretended to take soil samples early saturday morning. he forced his way into a home of 73-year-old woman. he attacked her and stole several pieces of jewelry. deputies say the man drove away in a white cargo van. jury deliberations will resume in the murder trial of oakland journalist chauncey bailey. they are working on to decide

the fate of yusuf bey iv and macky. jurors have had the case since may 23rd. today begins the third week in the murder trial of casey anthony and testimony will focus on evidence that anthony kept her two-year-old daughter's dead body in the trunk of her car. they provided the jury with evidence that casey's car had decomposition. on saturday jury heard testimony from an fbi analysts about the hair sample. >>she also said that the hair was found in a condition that only exists when the person has died. today the state is also expected to call a computer witness to the stand. they will discuss google

this isn't something you usually see. a plane heading down the freeway. this isn't just any plane it is the u.s. airways jet that landed in the hudson river. it was piloted by captain sullivan. the plane made headlines in early 2009 when a bird strike damaged its engines and sullivan had to land in the river. they will review their new radio system. they are designed to give emergency crews clear and reliable reception in all parts of the city. now raid deproblems have caused several communication breakdowns for oakland police in recent months. last january police radios only worked half the time during a high speed chase and officer involved shooting. apples worldwide developers conference kicks off this morning. they announced that ceo steve

it's giving a wide variety of weather. but for us we're on the western edge. we're on the drier side. wrap around light rains. we are not completely done. everyone sees to be wining down. we get a more trier an -- temperatures are on the mile see. another one moves out. morning clouds and then some sun. probably a little bit more toward the coast and enen ran. mild temps. highs toy to 70. but we're still way below average on some of the afternoon highs. there are signs we will warm up especially after wednesday. still though under an area of low pressure. that decreases as we head toward the end of the week.
