they are boarding the place up. this-bedroom house a total lois tonight. a call came in as a fire alarm, those are often false alarm, but crewses could see smoke from a mile way and called for backup. the family that lived her got out. they called 911 when the fire broke out. the house next door suffered some damage, broken windows, melted blinds, but firefighters kept the main fire from spreading, very tough with the winds that were whipping it along. at its peak contra costa fire with nine engines here. >> the fire was fully involved and winds blowing flames into the explosion and the home next door and not only did we have to worry about the home on fire, but vehicles, the home next door and also the home behind it. the home had a pool, which was a hazard to the firefighters. so there were a lot of

challenges with the fire. >> reporter: the couple and their child, who are the residents here were taken to the hospital to be checked for smoke inhalation, injuries not life-threatening. their house, a total loss. estimated at $400,000 for the structure and the contents. the cause undetermined, but investigators see nothing suspicious and they are leaning towards accidental. the take away for all of us here, the family did a lot of things right. they did have working smoke detectors and an alarm system, but officials say they wasted precious minutes trying to put the fire out by themselves with a bucket and a hose. the advice is always call 911 without delay. reporting live in pittsburg, debora villalon, ktvu, channel 2 news. at this hour a s.w.a.t. team is out in full force in a fairfield neighborhood. police say they have surrounded a home believed to be a hideout for a man suspected of making and detonating pipe-bombs. police are searching for 29-

year-old daniel garcia. garcia is suspected of setting off a pipe bomb under a car in an apartment complex last month. neighbors say police showed up at a home on the 1600 block of quincy lane around 1:45 this afternoon looking for garcia. right now they are using a helicopter in the air to search for him. a police chase near down san jose led to a fatal crash and what could have been a disaster with a gasoline tanker truck. it happened on east santa clara just west of 101 earlier this morning. that is where kutv's eric rasmussen is live with two investigators happening tonight. >> reporter: ken, san josi police are investigating the crash that ended when when a pickup truck slammed into this building back here. you can see friends and family of the man who died have set up a small memorial and the santa clara county sheriff's offices is investigating why he ran from deputies. of the in an instant this pickup truck turned into a

mandarin and understands almost no english. if anyone has any information about her whereabouts you are asked to give police a call immediately. dozens of volunteers tomorrow will take place in a third day-long search for a nursing student michelle le. the park was the focus of today's search. the klaaskids foundation has helped to coordinate the search for le to disappeared 21 days ago. police have classified the case as a homicide and family members are hopeful she will be found alive. we're learning more about a shooting that killed an oakland teen late last night. they say christian daniel gars way was in this park, parked at seminary and bankcroft avenue. investigators say he died at the hospital. still no word on a motive and

. the firefighters of san francisco fire station 26 said goodbye to two of their own about a week ago in a ceremony that brought a massive response from the city. today ktvu's john sasaki was the first to visit the station

since the community support continues. >> reporter: this was a quiet day for station 26 in san francisco's diamond heights district. they are reminders everywhere of the two men lost, vince perez and tony valerio. >> it's kind of still new and as can quiets down each person at the firehouse will discover, oh, i am missing tony talking about his bread acin the morning or vinny helping with the rigs. >> reporter: first there was shock and then came last week wheeze massive funeral, all with the daily task of being firefighter and these men saying now that everything is over, the full impact is hitting them. >> we're starting to miss tony and vinny we haven't had time to do that. we're starting to realize this they are gone. >> reporter: the only action came from the crew drove to another fire station to gas up. >> well, i want there of the day of the fire. i wish i could have been to help out a little bit. >> reporter: back home, the

the bay, but what is happening? we had more of a northerly breeze developing. that will help clear out the clouds rapidly as we head into your sunday morgan you been and as a morning, and as a result that will lead to a warm-up. wear going to warm thing you for your sunday. the extended forecast, more sunshine and we're talking about mid to upper 90s for the warmest locations of the bay area. overnight lows most areas in the low to mid-50s. satellite, you may have noticed high clouds across the bay area today, but a big area of high pressure developing and strengthening offshore and this will be the key factor, at least resulting in our warm-up. you can see the temperature trend for sunday, monday and tuesday and bytund, the warmest locations, 95, 96 and possibly 97 degrees. so tomorrow just the beginning

of of our warming trend. with those offshore winds in place, that will warm up the beaches, primarily in the low to mid-70s. here is our forecast model showing you some of the fog right now. we'll put this into motion tomorrow morning, 5:00, 6:00, the clouds hugging the coastline and some patches in a the bay. this clears out rapidly with a big bounce in the temperatures. for father's day, 7:00 tomorrow morning, you can see temperatures low to mid-50s. areas of fog out there. by 12:00, clearing skies, 68 to 80 degrees. there is the eventual temperature range with the micro climates resurfacing. santa rosa, 85 degrees and fairfield at 88. oakland in fact, around rim of the bay, mainly in the 70s. so a good day for the ballgame as they wrap up the series with
