sunday forecast with rosemary. >> reporter: good morning to you. happy father's day to everybody out there celebrating. for today, the headline will read a warmup. we're going to see our temperatures soar, especially for the inland areas. the wind will pick up, but if you've got it hot, it will feel good. widespread 60s for the coast. widespread 60s inland. we'll look at what you can expect for your afternoon and temperatures outside your door this morning coming up. and new from overnight, san francisco police are searching for suspects after an early morning stabbing. it happened around 2:00 this morning near the whole foods market. police found a man in his 20s with several cuts to his throat. he was taken to the hospital. so far, no one has been arrested. also overnight, a search and rescue underway. there was a boat on fire in the

estuary. they launched a search for a possible person on board or in the water but didn't find anything or anyone. the boat had about three feet of garbage on it. that fire is now under control. oakland police are investigating a fatal shooting of a man on 19th street. the man was found with multiple gunshot wounds just after 10:00 p.m. he was taken to the the hospital where he was pronounced dead. so far, police have no suspects or a motive for the shooting. last night's homicide followed another one. police say 18-year-old christian daniel garcia was shot friday night. investigators tell ktvu he was a known gang member with an extensive criminal history. new this morning, a missing elderly san francisco woman with alzheimer's disease has been found well. she was last seen near california street in san francisco around 1:30 friday afternoon. there is no word on how or

where she was found. her family was worried because she speaks almost no english. in one hour, family and friends of michelle le will continue their search for the missing nursing student. >> reporter: today is the last in a three-day search for new clues on the disappearance for 26-year-old michelle le. she's been missing for three weeks. volunteers are not giving up hope along with michelle young's friends and family. this is where all the volunteers are meeting this morning. they're scheduled to be here at 8:00. michelle le was a nursing student. she hasn't been seen since she left kizer hospital in hayward. police are investigating her disappearance as a possible homicide. but le's friends and family are not giving up hope she will be found alive. they started this search effort friday morning. 130 people showed up that day.

on friday, volunteers focused their search in the niles canyon area because activity was detected from michelle le's cell phone there. they were looking for any personal items and signs of white clothing. as we mentioned, the search resumes this morning. they'll be here starting at 8:00. we hope to talk to them when aarrive about how things are going. a fairfield man is in police custody this morning after an eight-hour long s.w.a.t. standoff. daniel garcia surrendered to police after officers fired four rounds of tear gas into his park. neighbors say police showed up around 1:45 yesterday afternoon looking for garcia. that 29-year-old is suspected of setting off a pipe bomb under a car in an apartment complex last month. after taking garcia into custody, police say they got a

pipe bomb and bomb-making materials inside his home. things are slow getting back to normal for unite the airlines this morning after a computer glitch caused delays here in the bay area and across the country. this is how sfo looked friday night when thousands of passengers found themself strand. the airline worked all day yesterday to rebook passengers. united it warning it could take several days to rebook everyone affected. a smoke detector is being credited for saving the lives of three people while a raging fire destroyed their home and damaged another. yesterday afternoon fire crews were called to this home on valley drive in pittsburgh. firefighters say they could see the smoke from a mile away and immediately called for more backup. in total, nine engines were called to the scene. crews still had their hands full. >> the challenges of this fire were we had two cars fully engulfed when we got here. the winds were 20-30 miles an hour, blowing flames to the

home next door. not only did we have to worry about home on fire but vehicle, the home next door, and the the home behind it. >> the fire started in the garage and appears to be accidental. firefighters say the smoke detector alerted the family who escaped from the home and called 911. good morning to you. a live look at the bay there where we're watching the sunshine begin to burn through that low cloud deck. you can see the low cloud deck right there. a little bit of squashed marine layer and fog outside our door. we're going to see a nice build of our temperatures into the afternoon. some of our inland spots could warm 10, even 15 degrees over yesterday. it's going to be warm and eventually it's going to be hot as we move through the first half of next week. current temperature, 62 degrees already reported in santa rosa. that's a big warmup over yesterday. 57 in napa. 54 in oakland. most of us anywhere from 2-5 degrees above what we saw

yesterday. our winds generally light. they're comeing in from the northwest at this point, which means it's going to help knock that marine layer out of our area sooner than what we saw yesterday. take a look at what's happening here in the 7:00 hour. just a little bit of patchy fog around the bay area. by 8:00, already retreating back along the coastline a little bit here over the golden gate bridge. by 9:00 or so, it's off the coast. we are going to be mostly sunny for your sunday. temperatures along the coast will warm into the 60s. widespread 70s expected in the bay. inland, 80s nearing 90 degrees. this is just the beginning of a warmup that will take substance abuse the first day of summer on tuesday. by tuesday some of our inland spots expected to hit triple digit heat, especially far inland. take a look at the forecast hying expected for today. 86 in clear lake. 85 at st. helena. the north bay didn't get too

friday. it's all being done to move sand off ocean beach. drivers are encouraged to use sunset boulevard as an alternate route. also in san francisco, more problems for the swans living in the lagoon at the palace of fine arts. a volunteer swan keeper means the missing 3-week-old hatchling named martha was killed by a hawk. time now is 7:10. running short on money, al qaeda is now hoping ransoms will help fuel their cause. and getting showered by glitter. the politicians here in the bay area.

good morning to you. giving you a beauty shot there of the city by the bay. nice, interesting shot. you can see the clouds right up above. that will be burning off this morning. new this morning, al qaeda is apparently turning to kidnapping and ransoms to help finance its terrorist organizations. the associated press is reporting today that information obtained from osama bin laden's pakistani compound shows the terrorist organization is having trouble raising money, and that's leading al qaeda officials to try to kidnap diplomats, tourists, and business owners, mostly in pakistan. no word on how successful those efforts have been. also new this morning, a deadly weekend in afghanistan after eight nato troops were killed. nato says one died this morning after an insurgent attack in the country. that death follows seven others yesterday. three troops while died and four others were killed in a car accident. so far this month, 38 nato service members have been killed. the thousands of protesters

that demanded change in egypt might have to wait a bit longer. egypt's prime minister announced this morning he wants to delay parliamentary elections. right now, they're set for september. you will recall mass protests earlier this year led to the resignation of the former president hosni mubarak. the libyan government is now saying civilians, including children, were killed in nato's latest air strike. it happened this morning in a residential area in tripoli. rescue efforts are currently underway to help those who may be trapped in the rubble. first lady michelle obama is preparing for a week-long trip to africa on a mission she hopes will bring inspiration. tomorrow, mrs. obama, her daughters, and a niece and nephew will arrive in

johannesberg. she says the challenges of the world are falling to the next generation. >> whether you live in new york, new delhi or nairobi, we share the game goals and dreams. >> mrs. obama and her family will also travel to botswana. she also plans to meet with former president nelson mandela. as his re-election campaign revs up, president obama is taking a more active role on twitter. he is now going to tweet regularly on his official account. personal tweets will be signed "b.o.." campaign staff say that will give him new opportunities to report on what the president is doing every day and connect to his supporters. president obama has more than 8.69 million followers on twitter. he is the the third most followed account behind lady gaga and justin bieber. a president obama impersonator is getting a lot

gathering of presidential hopefuls. minnesota congresswoman michelle bachmann attended saturday's conference, but before she arrived in louisiana, she attended a conservative blogger's event in minnesota. that's where she became the latest victim of a glitter attack. it was a little hard to see in that video, but that was a day rights activist throwing glitter on bachmann as she walked off the stage. authorities quickly escorted the activist away. tim pawlenty was also showered in confetti and glitter at a book signing on thursday. police escorted two women out of the area on thursday. on this father's day weekend, children get a special visit with their incarcerated dads. we'll take you behind the walls of san quentin prison for that reunion.

right now, firefighters are battling the second largest wild fire in's texas history. this is the bearing fire. so far it's burned more than 13,000 acres, forcing residents from their homes. on friday, firefighters say the fire was 80% contained, but yesterday's high winds whipped the flames out of control. firefighters in are preparing for more hot weather as they struggle to contain two different wild fires. this is video of the wallow fire. yesterday, the state senator's toured the damage. when asked about the cost to firefighters, senator john kyle had a different approach than just government aid. >> for the government to have to continue to subsidize this treatment if these difficult times presents a real challenge. if we can get it commercially buyable, then obviously the

people could take the timber out, make a small profit, and do the work that's do to the benefit of all of us. >> right now, the wallow fire is 38% contained. some residents have been allowed to return home. forecasters say high wind and high temperatures in the coming days could mean more trouble. here at home, cal fire has declared tomorrow the official start of the north coast fire season. it covers all the counties from the san francisco bay up to the oregon border. fire officials say the recent rain has created a lot of fast drying grass that will fuel any wild fires. residents should make sure there's plenty of clear, defensible space. >> rosemary, what's it looking like for firefighters out there? >> reporter: it's going to be a warm one. the wind shouldn't be too bad. air quality is still pretty good. as we head out the doors this afternoon, bring along the sun block. we have plenty of sun. 56 degrees. a mild start to the day. as you can see way in the backdrop, we have a little bit

of low cloud hanging off the coast. we'll be siting in the 50s, low 60s moving through the 8:00 hour. some of our inland spots waking up in the upper 50s, low 60s. a mild one outside your door. noontime numbers, low to mid- 60s along the coast. mid-upper 70s inland. for the afternoon, a big jump in our temperatures, especially for inland spots. anywhere from 10-15 degrees over yesterday. 65 expected. the average along the coastline. mid-upper 80s for our inland areas. the north beach festival counties forthe afternoon today. mostly sunny skies. a little breezy in the afternoon. low 60s through about noontime, 1:00. at the warmest part of the day, we'll be sitting at 70 degrees in and around a san francisco. and a look at your overall highs for the afternoon. 85 expected in santa rosa. 86 for livermore. the farther you go inland, the warmer it's going to be. some of our inland spots will

even be hitting 90 degrees. those of us on the coast are going to feel pretty good. 65 expected for pacifica. santa cruz will be nice and warm. extended forecast. tomorrow, even warmer. take a look at the highs. some of us hitting the hottest temperatures so far this year, especially the inland spots. by wednesday, we begin to see a little bit of a pattern change. the coast will feel it first, as usual. 67. so temperatures rolling back midweek wednesday. inland spots it's going to take a while before you begin to feel that cooldown. by thursday, all of us dropping off with our temperatures and it looks like the cool down will continue into early weekend. back to you up. a visit from a child to celebrate father's day is not unusual, unless is takes place behind prison walls. >> reporter: outside san quentin, there was silence.

trying to see themselves reflected in their father's eyes, if his features. >> reporter: susan provided get on the bus, providing free transportation for children of inmates. marquis carter is talking about his dad, a man who could spend the rest of his life in prison. a man who says he's still proud to be a dad. >> some of my family members share with me how lucky i am that i have a son like him. >> reporter: smiles behind the walls of san quentin on this father's day weekend. well, a florida man has given his son a life-saving gift this father's day, one of his kidneys. his 24-year-old son has had kidney problems his whole life. about a year ago, his doctors decided he needed a transplant. when brian's father stepped in and volunteered to donate one of his kidneys to save his son. >> i have no idea how to say thank you. what sort of father's day gift can live up to this? >> not your every day gift.

i just want him to have as good a life as he possibly can. >> both father and son are said to be doing well after the procedure. they'll likely be in the hospital for at least a week recovering. and the search is on this morning for a gunman in an overnight shooting that left one man dead in san francisco. the first volunteers have arrived to help with the search for missing nursing student michelle le. we'll tell you where volunteers have focused their efforts coming up up. plus, scary video from poland as a stunt plane crashes into a river.

more than three weeks after she disappeared, friends and family of michelle le plan on once again cam passing part of the east bay. welcome back to ktvu mornings on 2. the time is now 7:29. >> in just about 30 minutes, the search will resume for the missing nursing student. >> allie is live now in hayward with details. >> reporter: well, on friday the search and volunteers focused on the niles canyon area because authorities said they detected activity from michelle le's cell phone in the

area. i just spoke with michelle le's uncle who said that search didn't turn up much, so they are moving on. the family informs me they're going to be focusing more of their efforts here in the hayward area. that's where 26-year-old michelle le was last seen. she's been missing for three weeks. there's still no sign of her, but family and friends are not giving up hope. they've organized a three-day, all-volunteer search effort all on their own. le was a nursing student. she was last seen leaving kizer hospital in hayward on may 27. hayward police are investigating her disappearance as a possible homicide, but her friends and family are optimistic she'll be found alive. we spoke to the first volunteer to arrive this morning. he says he doesn't know the le family personally, but he's inspired by their strength. >> if i were them, i would be so stressed out and not be able

to sleep anyway. the fact they're going through it and holding on to it, that shows how close of a family they are. >> reporter: on friday, 130 people showed up to assist with this volunteer search. michelle le's uncle said yesterday they had about 300 people helping out. they're not sure how many people to expect today. again, they are looking for any personal items of michelle le's. she was last seen wearing white scrubs. family members were searching on friday in the nilea canyon area. again, the family says they've moved on and are focusing their effort here in hayward. new this morning, oakland police are looking for suspects in the fatal shooting of a man on 19th street. police say the man was found with multiple gunshot wounds just after 10:00 last night. he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead about 40 minutes later. so far, the motive for the shooting is unknown. anyone with information is asked to call police. police are searching for a

man who attacked a jogger in runner park. the man grabbed her, slashed her face and arms with a box cutter, then ran off. he's described as white, in his 30s, 6'2" tall with a lean build. the victim was treated at a hospital and released. two stranded hikers are safe this morning after being rescued near the big sur river. they were stuck about 300 feet above the river. the search and rescue team found the i and helped them get back on the the trail. one man is dead after a hit- and-run crash in san francisco's mission district. it happened yesterday morning. police say a man driving a white chevy fan hit a latino man in his 40s. officers say the van likely has front-end damage. witnesses said the van was driven by an african-american man in his 30s or 40s. a fatal police chase is now being investigated. it ended when the suspect drove under a gasoline tanker truck and slammed into a build.

this is what was left of the suspect's car. san jose police say they responded to calls of a car doing donuts and driving recklessly. when they arrived, the car sped off and they chased it for more than three miles. >> the truck actually went underneath the tanker truck. it sheered off the top half of the suspect's vehicle. >> amazingly, the gas tanker was empty. if it wasn't, it would have been a totally different scene. >> the 21-year-old driver was pronounced dead at scene. his 22-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. this morning, people are reacting to controversial billboards in the east bay. some want them torn down. this is one of the billboards located across from the west oakland bart station. the group issues for life says the billboards target african- american women because they have a much higher abortion rate. >> i think that's an attack on

black communities and reproductive right, especially for women of color. i think that billboard need to come down. >> all women should have a right to make their own decisions without anyone interfering with those personal decisions. >> walter hoye is the man behind the billboards. he says he's just trying to raise awareness. a san francisco woman could face charges after trying to prevent the installation of a pg&e smart meter. it happened yesterday afternoon in the glen park neighborhood. amy o'hare sat on the truck and refused to move. that's when police officers arrived. this is believed to be the first such arrest in san francisco. pg&e smart meters have led to controversy. san jose's international airport wants to test new ways to attract airlines. the city council will vote on tuesday on whether or not to

spend $1 million on two marketing firms. the mayor is skeptical of the approach and wants to put off the vote. since 2007, san jose airport has seen its scheduled flights fall 35% and passenger traffic drop 25%. former utah governor john huntsman is expected to officially join the g.o.p. presidential field this week. huntsman will announce he's running for president later this week. he served as u.s. ambassador to china for two years after being appointed by president obama in 2009. even before announcing his candidacy, john huntsman got an early boost this weekend. he came in second in a presidential straw poll at the republican leadership conference in new orleans. ron paul won that poll in a landslide. >> there's too much spending, too much debt, too much borrowing, and it's time to

stop the spending. minnesota congresswoman michele bachmann was third. herman cain came in fourth. mitt romney skipped that conference and did not participate in the polls. happy father's day, and good morning to you. a live look of oakland. we're still dealing with a low cloud deck. it's going to burn off. we have sunny skies on the way. in fact, some of us already waking up with mostly sunny skies. most of this low fog and clouds confined to the bay. tonight, light northerly breeze reported at 6 miles per hour. variable around the area. southeasterly in concord. our flow is more northwesterly. that's going to knock this marine layer out of the area. it's going to be off the coast by about 9:00, 10:00 this morning. sunnier conditions, warmer conditions as high pressure builds in from here out. 62 degrees at santa rosa right

now. 53 in san francisco. 57 in oakland. upper 50s hayward, concord, san jose. these temperatures anywhere from 2-5 degrees warmer than where we started yesterday. with the calm conditions, you step outside and it's notably warmer in some areas, especially around santa rosa. here's the marine layer we're talking about. by 8:00, it's already retreating. by about 9:00, off the coastline. down here on the bottom davenport and santa cruz until about 10:00. take a look at some of those temperatures coming up in a moment. satellite view here. remember that trough that rolled back our temperatures thursday and friday? it's right about here, now moving off to the east. high pressure will be in place now through about wednesday. that high pressure is really going to hike up our temperatures. in fact, some of the hottest temperatures so far this year expected by tuesday and wednesday. so sunny skies expected for today. a nice little warmup around the bay area. inland spots anywhere from 10- 15 degrees, approaching the 90- degree mark in many spots.

inland spots begin to feel it. by thursday, all of us seeing a bit of a cooldown. low 60s along the coast. upper 80s for the inland spots. we'll look at your day planner coming up. a southern california parolee has been arrested for hanging a noose in the doorway of a day rights organization. police say he was linked to the crime by dna, but it took months to find him because he's homeless. he was arrested friday when he showed up for a parole appointment. president obama is set to put the gay community in the spotlight over the next few weeks. this week, the president is going to headline a $1200 a plate dinner in manhattan. on june 29, a gay pride reception will be hosted at the white house. these two events are sparking speculation that president obama could be getting ready to endorse same-sex marriage, but the white house is not commenting on those rumors. a struggling mother from indiana is hoping a letter from president obama will help save

good morning to you. what a gorgeous shot there. the fog is beginning to burn off. well, new video this morning from poland shows the terrifying moments as a stunt plane loses control and crashes into the river. that all happened yesterday during an air show. you saw black smoke trailing from the plane as it began the nose dive. the pilot was eventually pulled out of the plane by emergency crews, but later died at the hospital. no one else was in the plane. four people are dead after a small plane crashed in a suburb north of new york city. the plane was flying from white plains to long island when the pilot reported having trouble.

air traffic controllers opened a runway so the pilot could make an emergency landing, but the plane crashed in a wooded area. right now a man suspected of stealing someone's identity to land a job as a flight attendant is siting in a miami jail. he's in the country illegally. on friday, the fbi arrested him on miami international airport. he's accused of stealing the identity of a new york man to land a job for american airlines. >> the ability to duplicate someone's identity, they get past almost any system. >> he's facing six counts of identity theft and three counts of forgely. the judge in the case has set his bail at $1 billion because authorities say they don't know who he could be working for. some new york police officers are recovering this morning after being rescued dangerously close to niagra

falls. police had responded to a call for help from a group of teenagers whose boat had died. they were able to bring the teens to shore, but when officers went back for the boat, they became trapped in the churning water. after three hours, the officers were saved by that helicopter. heavy rain and flooding continues to batter china. more than 2.5 million people are affected by flooding. supplies are arriving in the country, but blocked roads have made it difficult to deliver that aid. flooding has left more than 170 people dead or missing. armed inmates have taken partial control of this venezuelan prison. the national guard has been called in to try to regain control. his partial takeover, three people have been killed and 18 injured. new this morning, outgoing defense secretary robert gates says he's skeptical that peace

day effort organized by her family and friends. allie is live in hayward as volunteers prepare to begin the search. >> reporter: today's search effort just kicked off in the last ten minutes or so. we've seen a number of cars full of volunteers pulling into this lot behind me. that building you're looking at is where search volunteers are meeting to start their search today. just inside that doorway is a registration table. you can see from the turnout, there's a line to get to those registration tables and help out. that's just an idea of how many people in this community are turning out to help michelle le's family. we just went inside this building where there are some registration tables and a couple dozen volunteers waiting to be briefed. we'll show you the video we have inside the building. volunteers focused their search efforts in the niles canyon area because cell phone activity was detected from

michelle le's phone in that area. they didn't find anything significant in the area, they tell me. now the search has turned to the outskirts of niles canyon and the hills surrounding the area. 26-year-old michelle le was last seen on may 27 leaving kizer hospital in hayward. she's a nursing student there. police are investigating her disappearance as a possible homicide. michelle's family says they are not giving up hope for her safe return. they've organized this all- volunteer search effort. today is the third day of that effort. >> we're going to be doing our work until noon today. i know her father is going to come in here. being father's day, it's going to be difficult. we're going to go out with this and, you know, be prepared to just continually do it long- term. >> reporter: the family says they will continue to organize search efforts like this one. like the one they had this weekend, they'll have more in the future.

they continue to hand out these fliers. we have a copy of one to show you. the family has offered a $65,000 reward for any information leading to the safe return of michelle le. we'll continue to go inside and continue to check on how the registration is going this morning. the family says so far this weekend, it had 300 volunteers turn up to help out. new from overnight, san francisco police are searching for suspects after a stabbing. police found a man in his 20s with several cuts near his throat. he was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. so far, no one has been arrested. police say witnesses told them they saw a man running away from the scene. investigators believe the suspect and victim may have been arguing before that stabbing. also overnight a search and rescue effort in the oakland

estuary. there's a boat with about three feet of garbage on fire in the estuary. they launched a search for a possible person on board. the fire is now out. a fairfield man is now in custody this morning after an eight-hour s.w.a.t. standoff. daniel garcia surrendered to police after they fired four rounds of tear gas into his house. the 29-year-old is suspected of setting off a pipe bomb under a car in an apartment complex last month. after taking garcia into custody, police say they found a pipe bomb and bomb-making materials inside the home. a smoke detector is being credited for saving the lives of three people as a raging fire destroyed their home. yesterday afternoon, fire crews were called to this home on valley drive in pittsburgh. firefighters say they could see the smoke billowing about a mile away from the house. nine engines had to be called to the scene. >> the challenges with this

fire is we had two cars fully involved when we got here. the winds were 20-30 miles an hour, blowing flames to the home next door. >> the fire started in the garage and appears to be accidental. firefighters say the smoke detector alerted the family who escaped from the home and called 911 up. things are slowly getting back to normal for united airlines this weekend after a computer glitch caused passenger delays here in the bay area and across the country. this is how sfo looked friday night when thousands of passengers found themselves stranded. the airline worked all day yesterday to rebook passengers. united is warning it could take several days to rebook everyone. an elderly missing woman with alzheimer's disease was found alive and well.

long all-volunteer search effort. right now, volunteers are getting ready to head out today. you can see we can't cross this driveway because there's still some traffic coming. we can't get our cables across, but we went inside just ten minutes ago. we can show you what's going on inside there. there are about 100 people, all volunteers, wearing orange vests, getting briefed, and quickly trained on what to look for and instructions on where they will be going today. again, these volunteers are looking for clues in the disappearance of 26-year-old michelle le. she was last seen may 27 in hayward. she's a nursing student there. hayward police are investigating her disappearance as a possible homicide. le's family says they are not giving hope and are trying to be as proactive as possible. >> we come in, and we stay very, very positive, optimistic. it's great to meet people who are equally as positive, and i

street. police say the man was found with multiple gunshot wounds just after 10:00 p.m. he was taken to the postoperative where he was pronounced dead. so far, police have no suspects or a motive for that shooting. last night's homicide followed another one from friday night. investigators say the man was a known gang member with an extense i have criminal history. police are still searching for the gunman. the santa clara county sheriff's office is now investigating a fatal police chase. it ended when the suspect drove under a gasoline tanker truck and slammed into a building. this is what's left of the suspect's truck. yesterday afternoon, san jose police say they responded to calls of someone doing donuts and driving recklessly. the driver took off when police showed up, sending them on a chase. >> the truck went underneath the tanker truck. this sheered off the top half of the vehicle.

man who attacked a jogger. they say the victim was on the five-creek pass friday afternoon when the men grabbed her and slashed her face with a box cutter. he then ran off. the man is described as white in his 30s around 6'2". he also has a two-inch round tattoo on his forearm. the victim was treated and released from the hospital. two stranded hikers are safe this morning after being rescued near the big sur river. a search and rescue team found the hikers and helped them get back on the trail. they were not hurt. more people are now reacting to a controversial billboard. some people want them torn down, but the people behind the message say they're staying up. this is one of the billboards in question. it's located across the street from the west oakland bart station. it shows the profile of an infant with the headline black and beautiful.

wow. what a beautiful start for you estuary. an early morning fire at an old chemical plant in new jersey is now under investigation. that vacant building caught fire a little after 5:00 this morning, and the fire caused the building to partially collapse. some nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution. although the plant has been empty for two years, hazmat crews were called in because there may still be chemicals in the building. fortunately, no one was hurt. new video from poland shows scary moments as a stunt plane loses control and crashes into a river. you can see black smoke trailing from the plane as it begins to nose dive. the pilot was eventually pulled out of the plane but late every died at the hospital. no one else was on board.

four people are dead after a small plane crashed in a suburb of new york city. the pilot reported having trouble and tried to go back to the airport. air traffic controllers opened a runway so the pilot could make an emergency landing, but the plane crashed in a wooded area and burst into flames. this morning, armed inmates still have partial control of a prison in venezuela. the national guard has been called in to try to regain control. since the partial takeover, three people have been killed, 18 others injured. officials say at least 50 inmates are still refusing to surrender. police in south dakota are investigating a bizarre shooting at a wild west shootout charity event. three people were shot and injured while watching the show yesterday in hill city. witnesses say it happened when the actors shot in the direction of the crowd. the guns used during the show were supposed to be filled with blanks. police still aren't sure whether it was real bullets or shrapnel that caused the
