a nursing home in san jose yesterday. we are live at that nursing home with more about the elderly woman who passed away today. >> reporter: we have learned that woman consider you can see the giant hole that been repaired. the 100-year-old woman was in this room and was hurt when the 90-year-old driver lost control of her car. you can stillest skid marks inside the room. the reports were that the injuries were relatively minor but the director said by phone today that there were complications. >> the fact she was 100, she was 100 she -- her injury was according to the paramedics and everything i heard the injury was slight. >> reporter: today family members of the other victim who died after the crash visited the nursing home to look at the damage for themselves. we spoke to the son and

daughter of the 88-year-old who died yesterday following the accident. her family members said they are frustrated, worried the woman behind the wheel won't be prosecuted and they wonder if more could have been done by the staff to protect their mother. family members of other patients say it's a good facility. >> it's on the person that was driving. it's crazy if they are driving so being conscious of the way they are driving, it's the person driving who is at fault. >> reporter: you can see some of the damaged wheelchairs here, evidence of just how much force was in that car. the executive director stressed how proud he is of the staff members here who stepped in. he said they gave first aid and did whatever they could to help the injured. >> authorities are unsure if any more bodies will be found in the wreck of that bay area

bound amtrak train. the company that owns the truck that hit the train friday has a questionable safety record. a wording to records its been cited for crashes, unsafe driving and bald tires, the train's conductor is among those killed. 68-year-old lorette lee is formerly from concord. we talked to her family and they say they are planning some type of event in memorial of her for later this week. >> a danville teen in critical condition after the sand tunnel was digging collapsed on him. partial officials say the 17- year-old was digging it at sunset state beach in watsonville. he is now at the hospital in san jose where doctors are trying to remove sand from his throat. a second teen also had to be rescued. he was treated release from the hospital. both them were part of a danville church group visiting

the beach. no a 4-year-old from martinez is on life support tonight at oakland's children's hospital after his mother accidentally drove over him. police say the mother was backing out of the driveway of the family's home on vista way yesterday morning and didn't see the child walking near the car. >> two teens are under arrest tonight in connection with a daytime shooting yesterday on market street. police say the 18-year-old and 16-year-olds are accused of several felonies. the shooting sent five people including four bystanders to the hospital. their injuries aren't life threatening. witnesses say they saw two groups of people involved in a fight before the shooting. >> the man accused of beating brian stows ha been ordered back to prison for parole violation. he is now at the jail in san diego. a parole commissioner ruled he has to serve the ten month sentence after police found a gun at the residence where he was staying when he was

arrested in the case. now ramirez has yet to be charged with the beating. >> san francisco's gay pride parade is always the scene of much celebration but this year they can is celebrate more after winning significant legal victories since last year. john joins you live from san francisco. >> reporter: the parade ended a few hours ago but the party is far from over. a huge crowd is still here celebrating pride which people say feels extra special this year. the so-called dikes on bikes started the parade with a roar. market street was flood with colors and hundreds of thousands of people celebrating gay rights. >> allowing foam be what they are and really enjoying the joy of the having that -- it's wonderful. >> reporter: just two days ago

>> reporter: some say the fight is clearly gaining momentum, perhaps another reason pride 2011 seems so prideful. >> pride celebrations also took place in other cities around are the country including in chicago and new york. thousands marched today in new york city, this year's party was even bigger than past celebrations because as john mentioned the same sex marriage legislation signed in to law there friday night. the parade was led off by the governor who signed that historic bill. vandals tried to rain on chicago's pride parade but it went off as planned. someone slashed the tires on 51 parade floats at a storage facility. they were all fixed in time for the parade. hundreds of thousands attended the 42nd event. >> tomorrow the santa clara public health department is offering free hiv screenings.

doctor gets a 3d high quality view. >> still seems like science fiction. >> reporter: it's used to preform surgery. >> remove the prostate robotically. 20 years ago it would have been a sing, very large incision. >> reporter: now with this machine. >> the incisions are less than a centimeter. >> reporter: it's one of the every day tech knowledges on display. in the 20 years since the hospital first opened technologies changed dramaticly. so have many other things. immaterial one of the things that's happening other hospitals closing down their units, resources in the community sot other kids aren't there anymore and they have to come to places like this. >> reporter: during the recession people lost jobs and health insurance which puts more pressure on nonprofits to close the gap with fundraising.

the family is greatful for health insurance. >> jacob found he had leukemia in december. >> reporter: six months later his cancer is in remission. >> came out because i thought i'm part of the hospital too, a patient, most important part. >> reporter: is he already thinking about long term plans. >> i feel like my calling is game design. >> reporter: with machines like this on display his hospital can heal and inspire him. >> wow. that is cool. >> reporter: ktvu channel 2news. >> with the end of the fiscal year just day away the governor worked with lawmakers through the weekend to try to hammer out a state budget. the governor met with democrats in the legislature to talk about another plan to be passed without republican support. the governor insists he still has time to convince republicans to support his call for a special election so voters can decide on increased

taxes. the current fiscal year ends on thursday. during the budget impasse lawmakers aren't getting paid and it's because of proposition 25 that voters approved back in november. senate president today said he doesn't believe lawmakers pay should be docked. >> the voters gave us the responsibility to pass a vote -- a budget on time and gave us a majority vote to could so and we weren't going to be late the very first time out and we did the very best we could with the tools we have including $12.5 billion of cuts. . >> reporter: the late budget means they are losing around $400 a day in pay and expenses. >> university of california president is supporting the governor's plan to extend taxes in a statement issued today he said in my view what the governor has proposed offers the surest pathway available to a more stable fiscal future for california including its

universities. he went onto say reliable state support is important to the continued excellence. a new field poll finds most california residents follow what's going on in government but an increasing portion of the voters don't. 41% say they follow matters relating to government most of the time, 25% say they follow what's going on only now and then or hardly at all. that's up from 16% in 1979. a majority of california voters say television is their media source for most of their news about government and public affairs, 44% say it's the internet and 33% say newspapers. >> republican congresswoman tomorrow will announce her run for the white house. she said she would vote in favor to an amendment to the

. more hope in north dakota. the source river is slowly starting to go down. still thousands remain on alert as officials warn the danger will continue for days. we have more now from the flood zone. >> reporter: the river is now swamping at least one in five homes. water blasting its way over the levee system. >> the water that we are dealing with which has been -- between 25 and 30,000 feet per second, is five times more than

up, down, up, down,. >> reporter: this is now the city's worst flood in history. officials know there are difficult days ahead as the river crests well above flood stage. in north dakota, fox news. >> some promising news from the wildfire lines in arizona. the smallest of the three major fires in the state is now fully contained. the horseshoe two fire is surrounded afterburning more than 348 ware miles, crews making steady progress. both are now around 75% contained. the wallow fire is the largest ever in the state's history and has burned an 845 square mile area and destroyed three dozen homes and cabins. >> the afghanistan president said his country is ready to take control of its own security. he described the situation in afghanistan as getting better even though mays was the

bloodiest month for civilians. >> no nation can take deaths forever, especially a nation like us where even before september 11th we had seen 20 years of violence affecting the country. >> on wednesday the president announced ten thousand united states military people would leave afghanistan this year and all 33,000 remaining service members would return home by next summer. >> in news of the world, in pakistan this weekend police say a husband and wife team of suicide bombers attacked a police station. the couple claimed they were at the station to make a complaint, then attacked with grenades and guns. after a five hour standoff they blew themselves up killing eight police officers and two civilians. in syria more video of attacks by government troops.

activities say these pictures were taken at a funeral where sources opened fire killing two mourners. human rights works say 20 people died friday, at least 200 critics of the president of syria are set to meet monday, a meeting the government so far has not tried to block. in yemin hundreds of thousands of protesters rallied to demand the son of the president leave the country. both men control powerful military units but for the first time today he said he supports attempts to reach a solution between his father's regime and the opposition. that's seen as a possible first step in getting his father to leave. >> a new e-coli outbreak in europe may be linked to bean sprouts. france has halted the sale now of sprout seeds from a british mail order company called thompson and morgan.

the shooting led to a manhunt that ended in the arrest of a 39-year-old. >> santa rosa police plan to crack down on the city's most dangerous intersection. they will patrol stoney point road all week. that intersection had the most traffic collisions in all of last year with 20. police will be looking for drivers not wearing seatbelts, those using cell phones illegally and those speeding. the landfill where most of the trash of marin goes is facing legal trouble. the redwood landfill is located north of nevado. the state approved an expangs plan for the site but there are reports tonight that the environmental group no wetlands landfill expansion has file a lawsuit. the organization said the plan shouldn't move forward because that landfill sits below sea level and is at risk of

changed. >> yes. looks like the forecast and at least the models speeding up the approach of our possible rain maker that will move into northern california at least for today we had a nice warm up with most areas about five to ten degrees warmer than yesterday with mostly clear skies, we have some patchy fog developing coast side around half moon bay and pacifica and around san francisco as well. in -- you can see some of that -- at least the evidence of the marine layer. san francisco checking in 61 degrees, as we pull back you can see all the clear skies and temperatures warmed up nicely. for tonight we will have that with clear skies, breezy conditions but the fog will continue to develop. morning overcast to start out monday and warm temperatures inland. the extended forecast and other warming trends showing up but in between tomorrow and the extended we have a weather system. this area of low pressure has cooled off the area and that been moving out to the north

ask east. we warmed up interpretly much the same for monday. we head into tuesday, this system pretty much looks like a cold front we would see in january or february moving in and a big drop off in temperatures. we bring in the chance of a few showers and the slight chance of isolated thunderstorms, most of activity would favor the north bay. a look at the satellite. the development out to the north and west and the rainfall and the cloud cover, at least for tomorrow 6:00 we have patchy fog to start out the day, coast side and around the bay and then we will take this into tuesday. tuesday morning we should start out dry. then look what happens into early tuesday afternoon. this system actually could produce showers up in parts of the north bay, even a chance south of the golden gate bridge and then washes out. temperatures dropping off a good ten to 15 degrees tuesday and then wednesday the

atmosphere begins to stabilize. for tomorrow at 7:00 50 to 55 degrees, patchy fog by 12:00, 58 to 75 degrees, and then 3:00, 60 to 85. here is the look at some of the numbers, warmest locations approaching the low to mid80s, antioch around 85 degrees and oakland 69, san jose at 77, and san francisco right around 66 degrees. normal for tomorrow but a significant change into tuesday. we bring in the cloud cover and the rain clouds reflect the increase in the shower chances, a big time cooldown as well. by tuesday the warmest locations not so warm, only in the lower 07's. we start to warm it up thursday and friday and then look what happens through the upcoming weekend. about a week from now significant warm ups. very all sorts of material for tonight with warm temperatures, shower chances and then more hot weather in the long range. >> you name it we are getting

halladay ten and three after this jam. they are back home on tuesday night to host florida. the freeway series at dodger stadium tied at one in the 9th. angels in front when wells hits a foul pole hugging drive -- the angels took the lead to the bottom of the 9ing. after the dodgers tied the game tony quinn made it a walk off day for the dodgers, they end the streak at three with a 3-2 win but are still nine under 500. national tv appearances have been a staple of the giant season. they are on the featured sunday night game against the indians, they just scored two in the bottom of the second and lead 2- 0 in the top of the third. in detroit curt gibson watching sparky anderson's number retired. tigers had their third sell out of the year and the fans went
