good morning. i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. our top story -- the rain. we have live team coverage all over the bay area. but first let's check in with steve paulson. >> it's in the north bay and there's really impressive totals towards shelter cove. >> it's starting to enhance a little bit especially off the coast. you're going to have to wait a while. it's moving into the north bay. you can see there are some reports of moderate rain. we've had .3 up in casa zer

hard, they say, in santa rosa -- the santa rosa commute heading down to marin county will be busy. but as eric mentioned, a little bit of rain in novato. let's go outside. i want to show you southbound 101 in san rafael looks pretty good. not that wet, westbound bay bridge. not that wet but any sort of weather is gonna make the commute slower. this is about a ten-minute delay. in the south bay, it's dry. 237 traffic. it's cloudy but it's dry. 237 is slowing down heading west. let's go back to the desk. bris say -- police say two men attacked three others last night right outside of a car wash on main street near geary. that's where allie rasmus is standing by telling us what neighbors and even a suspect's wife are saying this morning.

>> reporter: well, good morning. all morning long we've seen walnut creek police patrolling the area. it actually happened in the parking lot. it's part of a business, a car wash business. it happened last night at 9:00. business is closed. but they are getting ready to open up this morning. police are still looking for witnesses who may have seen what happened. in the meantime, they've made two arrests. two men were booked into a martinez facility early this morning. one of the two arrested lives in the apartment building right next door to the car wash. earlier this morning we watched two walnut creek patrol cars pull up to the amount -- to the apartment building and ent earn the residence. i talked to one of the wives. she did not want to talk. she did not want to go in scam raw. she said he parked his car in

the spot downstairs and police -- and three men beat him up. police don't believe that and arrested him. some other neighbors say they've never had any problems like this before. >> everything is okay. >> so you are surprised by what happened in that parking lot. >> i surprised, yeah. >> now, the stabbing happened around 9:00 last night. according to police, there was some sort of dispute or fight involving five people that happened in this car wash parking lot, three of those five were stabbed and three of the five stabbed were seriously injured with stab wounds to the torso. they arrived in critical condition. however this morning, police say is their condition is now stable. a third man was stabbed in the forearm and he refused medical treatment. in the meantime, the two men arrested, again, one of the two lives in this apartment building right next door to the

car wash. they both remain in the facility on $90,000 bail. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. 7:06. overnight in concord, firefighters stayed on the scene of a grass fire to make sure it did not reignite. the fire broke out around 11:00 on discovery way near the concord com1 campus. crews managed to put ott the flames. no structures burned but some homes were threatened for a short time. dry grass helped fuel the fire. still no word on what caused the fire. but neighbors say they heard fireworks go off just before the fire ignited. oakland police are asking people to stay alert after two robberies, the first robbery happened yesterday morning around 11:00 on hanover and brooklyn. the victims were robbed of a gold chain and a purse. the suspects were driving a four-door white vehicle with moderate damage to the rear.

about an hour and a half later, another gold chain was stolen near 7th avenue and east 18th streets. the suspects in that robbery were driving a silver nissan. roger rickman was arrested after the mother of a 7-year- old girl called the police. the girl told her mother that rickman forced her to do lewd things in his car when he drove her home from school. a mountain view man is recovering from a shooting during an afternoon robbery in front of his home. police say the victim was in this driveway near alma street, when two man demanded his wallet. when he refused the robber shot

him in the leg and that shooting wound is described as serious. the robbers escaped in a black sedan with a rear spoiler. 7:08. a california man has been killed after diverring from the top of a hawaiian -- diverring from the top of a hawaiian waterfall. the 35-year-old man from irvine -- irvine jumped from the kipu falls from the i -- from the island of kauaiy. rescuers found his body at the bottom of the pool. the water fall is a popular tourist attraction. the oakland city council will discuss tentative agreements this morning with the oakland city council and they start voting on the budget tonight. soak has a $58 million budget

suspect. in fact, we can't be sure he lives at that home on whipple. now, a few minutes after knocking on the door, this man emerged from the home. he told me he didn't want to say anything. and then after stopping to a couple of men in a car, the man retreated in the house. at 657 whipple road, the problem is worse. two men have been the victims of homicide since last september and on sunday, police got another call to come here. while officers were responding to the house, they learned that an individual had been hit several times. when they arrived, they found a male in the front yard of the residence. >> reporter: now, according to the police, the suspect in this particular shooting walked up, shot the male and then fled on foot. the victim in sunday night's shooting is in critical condition. he's described only as a 21- year-old man but did not live at the home.

last month, ruben bartina was shot. it's not clear if he lived here but he was not -- shot. and then a man following a domestic dispute was shot. police don't know if these incidents are linked. the only thing they seem to have in common is where any happen. kraig debro, ktvu channel 2 news. >> okay. thank you. 7:32. well, danville police -- danville police are investigating a copper wire theft on harts avenue between noon on saturday and 8:00 yesterday morning. they stole hundreds of feet of copper wiring. last month construction trailers at the site were broken into and tools were stolen. danville police say if you have any information on this, contact them as soon as possible. new details about the big rig driver involved in friday's deadly amtrak crash east of reno that killed at least six

people. lawrence rally racked up a half- dozen violations. investigators also found a cell phone at the scene of the crash that may have belonged to him. now they want to know if he was walking -- talking on that phone and ticketing before his big rig smashed into the strain. he was killed along with five other people on the train which was found for emeryville. one passenger is still listed as missing. there's good news this morning for homeowners in several large cities as crot -- across the country. the standard & poor's case- shiller index show home prices were up in 13 of the largest cities. washington, d.c. had the biggest price jump, with san francisco coming in next. experts say the spring time

a surveillance video shows two men followed him in a gray or silver van. they were taking the -- taking the marijuana when he returned to the caur and shot him. a marin county judge has denied accused serial killer, joseph nasso's request to dismiss the charges against him. but the judge did grant his request to delay a preliminary hearing that was scheduled for july 11th. nasso is charged with killing four women in northern california. he's exacting as hen o-- as his own attorney. and prosecutors are deciding whether a 91-year-old woman will face criminal charges after her car crashed. this was saturday morning. investigators say she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes. she crashed through a wall of a nursing home, killing two women works were 88 and 100 jeers old.

organization. a vote today on the latest budget plan in sacramento. after months of trying to convince republicans to vote for his tax extensions, governor brown decided that a bipartisan deal is not going to happen. without the extensions, it means the governor can proceed without the republicans house he need as simple majority. it also means the state sales tax drops 1%. the vehicle licensing will go up .50. without that tax revenue, the new budget relies on deep cuts. >> we've made some very tough cuts in this budget. it's $650 million -- $650 million to the university, $650 million to cal state, significant cuts. hundreds of millions to the judiciary and all along the line. >> now, republicans defend their stance on tax extensions by saying they list -- they listen to the voters and

reese you can -- about this breaking news of a ut waker rescue. there is a boat in the water looking for a person. we have errors that person is out there treading water in the water -- off the san mateo bridge. now, the emergency vehicles we have no idea how that person got into the water, why this person needed rescue. but they are out there right now. we will follow this and provide more information. it looks like some of the traffic on the san mateo bridge is beginning to slow down as they are seeing the activity. people driving on this flat span can see the coast guard and just natural curiosity is going to slow traffic.

minute wait. it's been off and on here at the bay bridge. but it's not a huge delay. if you are driving on the peninsula, 101 traffic looks okay. across the bay we have slow traffic in hayward. >> walnut creek police are investigating a triple stabbing outside of a car wash. it happened near main street on geary. allie rasmus has been gathering details all morning long and joins us live with new information. >> reporter: good morning. according to police, that fight ended up with a -- excuse me, the stabbing all started out with a is fight that happened in this parking lot behind us. this is the parking lot of the walnut creek car wash. owner of this business says three of the five people involved were either current or former employees here. walnut creek police vasted two people for suspicion of a sale -- of assault. is we can see walnutting creek

memorial building that's currently being rebuilt. thieves broke into the building on hearts avenue between noon on saturday and 8:00 a.m. yesterday morning. they stole hundreds of feet of copper buyering. last month, someone broke into trailers and tools were stolen. danville police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious. we're learning more about the big rig driver involved in friday's deadly amtrak accident east of reno. lawrence valley had a half- dozen moving violations since 2008, including four speeding tickets. investigators say they also found a cell phone at the scene of the crash that likely belonged to valli. they are now checking to see if he was talking or texting right before his big rig slammed into the rain. he was killed along with five other people. one passenger is still listed as missing. 8:33.
