ocean beach. how did they end up in the water? and california's new budget has one unexpected benefit for consumers. why friday could be a good day to make a big purchase. the morning news continues. good morning to you. welcome to wednesday. it's june 2th. i'm dave clark. >> good morning. i'm pam cook. let's get a look at weather this morning with steve paulson. thank you, pam and dave. we have mostly cloudy skies. now today will be a lot better than yesterday unless you really, really love the rain. still a possibility of showers as you can see the wrap around the low is right over us. so it won't take much to get some build ups here. temperatures though remaining on the cool side. 60s and low 70s. showers possible, thundershowers after today though things calm down and start to warm up. here's sal. steve, right now traffic looks pretty good here on interstate 880 past the coliseum with no major problems. also if you are driving on 80

westbound it is looking good all the way to the maze. now back to the desk. topping our news this morning. a homicide in fairfield. police say a minimart owner was killed during a robbery attempt. ktvu's kraig debro tells us that the victim managed to call police before he died to describe his attackers. kraig. >> reporter: good morning, pam. i spoke to police not too long ago. they will not release the name of the victim, but it did happen in a place called the travis dairy. it's on east travis boulevard. the store's locked up now but when i looked inside about 30 minutes ago between the soda machines and the budweiser posters i could see a lot of things had been knocked on the floor as if there'd been a struggle. police say the victim as you said, pam, actually called police himself right after this all happened around 7:50 last night. the unidentified man told police that three men had come into the store, robbed and attacked him. when officers arrived they detected a scent of a mist typically used for self- defense. >> as the officer went inside he had the smell of pepper

spray everywhere. looked like he'd been pepper sprayed inside the own. he's in critical condition. they called an ambulance for him. transferred to north bay medical center and he passed away at the medical center. >> reporter: one thing police are not being very clear about is exactly how the victim received his fatal injuries. not much is known about the suspects either. police say they only have a vague description. they do say the victim told them various items were taken including the whole cash register. police are looking for a brown or tan colored car believed to be a late model honda in this case as well. now what police also are trying to do is look at the video surveillance tape. they did try to take video surveillance tape from the store but we understand they have taken a video recorder with them but they also understand that they've got at least one recorder that may have been taken by the suspects. reporting live in fairfield, kraig debro, ktvu channel 2 news. time now 6:02.

well, just hours ago the coast guard rescued three men who fell out of the their crab boat. this happened in the ocean waters near the cliff house in san francisco. rescue teams took those three boaters to the coast guard station in sausalito and we were able to talk to one of the rescued boaters. >> we just rolled a lot of gear shifted on the deck and the pilot took a -- it just rolled. boat went over wouldn't come back. >> now one of the boaters had to be treated for hypothermia. you see him right there. the others were not hurt. all three of the boaters are from the eureka area. gasoline thieves causing some big problems for drivers in concord this morning. ktvu's jade hernandez joining us live with some of the places they'd been targeting there. jade. >> reporter: good morning. we moved to a neighborhood where a blog reports that there have been some problems with gas thieves. the blog reports gasoline thieves are targeting various spots in the city including

right here in this estates. the report comes out of clay cord.com. within the past month eight drivers have reported gas thieves targeting their tank. now here's a map showing streets according to the blog where the siphoning has been an issue. there have been a couple issues in dana estates in crystal ranch. the other streets listed are as follows, peach place, florida drive and meadow lane. the blog also says someone reported gas siphoning at this grocery outlet in concord. we were there about an hour ago. doors don't open for another few hours. we also checked in with the concord police department this morning and we were told officers have not had any reports as far as anyone on duty overnight is aware of. but our inquiries have been forwarded to detectives. we are also told detectives should be in the office in about an hour or so. i just spoke to one neighbor who hasn't heard about anything in this neighborhood but we'll continue to talk to neighbors who are walking this morning. reporting live from concord, jade hernandez, ktvu channel 2 news. pg&e will reduce the pressure in a pipeline just

north of san bruno after problems were found during a video inspection. now the pipeline runs between ser are boulevard and hillside boulevard in south san francisco. pg&e says a video inspection showed minor dents and welding problems. now outside experts will be brought in to conduct even more inspections on the pipeline. we're now hearing that the man appointed by the state to investigate the san bruno explosion is changing his mind on what caused that disaster. in his original report he said vibrations from a 2008 sewer project weakened the pipeline. now he says changes in gas line pressure over the years is what caused the damage. he says the pressure change wore away at the welding causing the pipe to rupture. time now 6:05. president obama will hold a white house news conference in just a couple of hours from right now. his first news conference since march. coming up for you at 6:15 we'll bring you a live report from our washington d.c. newsroom on

what the president is expected to talk about this morning. well, alameda county judge thompson just received a very special honor from president obama. the president appointed judge thompson to serve on the coordinating council on justice and delinquency prevention. this very prestigious group is within the executive branch of the government. it coordinates programs relating to juvenile delinquency, children without care givers and missing or exploited children. we have breaking news now out of greece. the greece parliament just voted to approve those unpopular austerity measures. we are looking live this morning where you can see a number of people there outside the parliament building in athens. riot police have been clashing with protesters outside the parliament building this morning. now many people in greece are upset about the deep spending cuts and higher taxes that are in that austerity bill, but the european union is insisting on

the measures in order for greece to receive some crucial bailout funds. again, we are looking at live pictures outside of athens, the parliament building where they just passed those austerity measures. back here in california today governor brown will sign the state budget passed by lawmakers late last night. the budget was approved with no republican votes as expected. democrats used their new majority vote authority to close the remaining $9.6 billion deficit with deep spending cuts and new fees. the budget also anticipates $4 billion in new revenue based on an improving economy. now if that doesn't happen, further cuts built into the budget would go into effect. a positive note for consumers this friday. that means the state sales tax will drop by 1 percentage point from 8.25 to 7.25% that's because governor brown was unsuccessful in getting republicans to support extending a temporary sales tax

increase that went into effect in 2009. now we asked people here in the bay area their reaction to that drop. >> i like a penny back. any money we can save right now or have, i like it. >> i'll spend more, but at the same time i'm kind of torn because the state's going to bank less. >> counties and cities can add on to the state sales tax rate. so it does vary from place to place. the drop in the rate will be most noticeable for big ticket items such as washers and tryers. now at ktvu.com we have posted complete details about the budget now headed to the governor's desk. just look for the state budget tab. time now 6:08. today san francisco muni riders will be asked if you should be allowed to ride buses and trains for free. questions being asked by the racial and environmental justice group called power. riders who want to participate can vote at the corner of mission street and geneva

avenue. members of power say that rising bus fares are hurting the poor and eliminating the fares would get more people out of their cars. all right. see how many people are in their cars today, let's go to sal. is it crowded out there? it is crowded but not isobases add it was yesterday afternoon with all that rain. right now pretty good at the bay bridge toll plaza. we are getting more people coming up here and they usually switch the metering lights on about 6:15 or so. this morning's commute looks pretty good if you are driving on interstate 880. let's go to the south bay. computerized map system whenever you see the map looking green like this it's a good deal because traffic is looking good. once you start seeing it turn red and yellow that means we have slow traffic. not a lot on the map as you can see. 6:09 let's go to steve. thank you, sal. our system continues to move out of the area but the low over us. in the sierra nevada a lot of rain. about half inch at lake level and there will be rain today that's the front we had yesterday. the wrap around though could still produce a few showers.

june started off very wet and guess what it ended very wet as well. san francisco it was a record for the day, but it is not the wettest june. 2.57 in 1884. so if you thought, man, this must be the wettest june ever no it's not. 2.41 has fallen so far. yesterday though .81 broke the old mark of .22 going back to 1952. i mean talk about shattering it. not only san francisco but santa rosa down to san jose. rodeo over an inch. oakland an inch plus. napa .9. san jose was the really leader of the pack. they had to break .02. they had .6. incredible. other rainfall records around the state chico my old stomping ground yesterday 1.19. brentwood .86. in january that would be good rain but for the end of june it's amazing. crescent city with rain, vacaville and sacramento all records for the day. still some on the mendocino sonoma border. so we're not completely done. also in lake county.

very light but this low that's over us now is too close to say we're done. so morning showers possible afternoon showers. a lot of clouds right now. 53, 54, 55, 56. 53 livermore, 56 san jose. you can see the low spinning right there. it's not out of the picture. it will be out of here by tonight. clouds, sun showers today possible thundershowers very cold system for this time of year is over us. any sun or any breaks in the clouds would help kind of prime the atmosphere. 60s and 70s it will be a cool day for this time of year but after today we'll start to rebound rather fast. in fact i expect to see temperatures inland hitting the 90s here probably not until about saturday. maybe friday but the weekend looks sunny and warmer. well, the first major storm of the 2011 atlantic hurricane season is here. tropical storm arlene barreling through the gulf of mexico. right now winds about 40 miles per hour. but forecasters say it could strengthen as it moves towards mexico. it's expected to reach the coast over the next few days. it will likely bring heavy rains that could cause some flash floods and mud slides. all right.

conference this morning. as ktvu's allison burns reports from our washington d.c. newsroom it comes as his popularity seems to be on the decline. allison. >> reporter: that's right, pam. new york times poit shows that are some challenges for president obama. his approval rating is at 47%. that is down 10% since right after the death of osama bin laden. only 39% of americans approve of how he is handling the economy. now president obama is just back from a campaign stop in iowa. he's expected to face tough questions this morning about what type of deal he might strike with republicans on the budget and debt limit and his refusal to get congressional approval before committing u.s. forces to the mission in libya. one bright spot for president obama another new poll is out today that shows 72% of americans approve of his strategy in afghanistan. reporting live from washington d.c., allison burns, ktvu

channel 2 news. we're going to provide live coverage of president obama's news conference this morning at 8:30 coming up on mornings on 2. time now 6:15. another politician this time in louisiana caught up in a scandal after a photo he sent to a woman ended up on the city's computer system. now here's a photo. this is kenner city councilman. kenner is near new orleans. he confessed he sent this picture to a city employee. he used his personal phone to send this photo and text message to the woman. apparently she then sent the photo to a co-worker. that's how it ended up on the city's computer system. he did make a statement and says he has apologized to his wife. right now the casey anthony murder trial is underway in florida. we want to take you live to inside the courtroom right now. that is casey's mom, cindy, on the witness stand. today the defense plans to call

a grief expert to the stand as well. now the defense is trying to prove that the anthony family is disfunctional and that casey suffered sexual abuse at the hands of her father. defense attorneys say this taught casey to keep secrets. that's why she was able to lie about 2-year-old caylee's whereabouts when she was missing. our time now 6:16. san diego judge may decide today whether doctors can continue to forcibly medicate arizona shooting rampage suspect jared loughner. but loughner's lawyer says he's been forced to take mind altering drugs against his will. however, prosecutors argue that medication is needed to help loughner cope with his schizophrenia. he's accused of fatally shooting six people injuring 13 others back in january. two east bay brothers are in custody this morning. they are accused of stabbing three men in walnut creek. now it happened monday night during a fight outside a car wash on north main street.

investigators say they are responsible for the attack. two men suffered serious stab wounds, the third has cuts on his arm. police are still looking for a motive. now san francisco police are investigating a deadly shooting in the city's poor to will district. the chronicle reports the victim was shot several times from behind while walking along san bruno avenue. it happened yesterday afternoon at about 3:30. the victim later died at a local hospital. he is identified as 26-year-old neilson bathes of san francisco. the suspect was reportedly seen getting into a white car waiting nearby. time now 6:18. malaysia airlines now banning babies on some of its flights. the airline says children under the age of 2 no longer allowed on first class sections in the 747s. babies will also be banned on air bus a380s when they begin to fly with the airlines next year.

good build ups today. the low is right over us. the front up in the sierra nevada producing rain there. you can see that wrap around still producing rain at fort brag couple of our observers up there say what the heck is going on. american canyon last 24 hours 1.2. that's a lot of rain for any time of the year especially the end of june. petaluma almost an inch. castro valley in there. livermore .78. palo alto kentfield half inch. right there little system coming into northern part of sonoma county 53 to 56 on the temps. few breaks in those clouds, but the low which is right over us now needed to move out and it's not going to happen until today later today. so some sun but a lot of clouds, few showers are possible. maybe a thundershower could rumble. had some yesterday. 60s and low 70s after today though temperatures will rebound. although i'd be surprised if we didn't get fog tonight and into tomorrow. after that all systems go for sunshine and warmer weather especially as we head towards the weekend and inland areas back in the 90s. thank you, steve. well, this morning toyota announced it is recalling more

than 82,000 more vehicles here in the u.s. executives say the recall effects highlander and lexus brand hybrid suvs from the 2006 and 2007 model years. a possible wiring problem in computer boards is to blame. toyota says the suv could operate under reduced power or come to an unexpected stop because of that wiring problem. effected owners will be notified. starting today american express is offering a new rewards system to its small business members. now they can use their credit cards points to get free facebook ads. $6750 in purchases will mean a business can buy one $50 facebook ad. it's the first time a major company has linked social media advertising with bonus points. facebook by the way has more than 750 million members around the world. time now 6:21. the federal government just gave the okay for fireworks shows along the coast of three california counties. those counties by the way are santa cruz, monterey and san

louis bus pro. the government approval was needed because of the noise, smell and the light from fireworks may bother some of the harbor seals and sea lions. officials estimate almost 6200 sea lions and about 1,000 seals could be annoyed by the fireworks show that have been approved. the federal government says no marine mammals will probably be hurt or killed and we hope that is the case. 6:22 is the time right now. there are concerns about an illness out at sea. the reason this cruise ship will have to undergo major inspections before it sets out on its next crew. also the new information that suggests that some extra cash may be bad for your health. good morning. traffic is moving along pretty well getting up to the willow pass grade. we'll tell you more about the morning drive to work coming up. ñw?

good morning. bay bridge toll plaza traffic is getting busy now. they've turned the metering lights on. no major problems getting into the city once on the bridge. well, a cruise ship is set to arrive in san francisco today to undergo a rigorous health inspection. the u.s. centers for disease control will oversee the cleaning of the sea princess. the inspection was ordered

because the ship had two no are virus outbreaks in the last five weeks. once the cleaning is complete, the sea princess will take off for a cruise to alaska. time now 6:25. some last minute union contract deals may help the city of oakland close its almost $60 million budget deficit. city council members debated several budget plans last night. now the city has reached tentative agreements with the fire and police associations along with three other labor unions. if it's approved, the agreements could keep libraries open and prevent cut backs to parks. 44 laid off police officers may also be hired back. >> i can't answer the question if it's enough. we have a lot of demand in the city. but you have to pay for what you can afford. >> the city council did not take a vote last night. they'll meet again tomorrow to talk about the budget. friday by the way is the deadline for a budget to be passed. meantime a pension reform ballot measure introduced by

san francisco mayor ed lee is headed to the full board of supervisors for their vote. the plan would cap pension benefits. it would raise retirement ages and also boost city workers in health and pension contributions. a vote on whether to put that issue on the november ballot could happen at the supervisors meeting on july 12th. receiving a paycheck or tax refund check may be hazardous to your health. a new study suggests that people have a better chance of dying on or close to the day they receive money. researchers say when people get paid they're more likely to leave the house and look for ways to spend that new money. that leaves them open to potentially risky situations such as car accidents. a bay area minimart owner dies after a violent robbery. what that victim told police before he died. >> reporter: and are gas thieves a problem in concord? we have a live report coming up. greece is the word.

now topping our news there was a homicide in fairfield. police say a minimart owner died after a violent robbery. ktvu's kraig debro says the victim managed to call police before he died and described his attackers. kraig. >> reporter: dave, it's called the travis dairy. it's right behind me on east travis boulevard. keep going north from here you go right to travis air force base. police aren't releasing the name of the victim but there are plenty of people around here that know him well. there's absolutely no indication of the violence that took place here last night. police say the man who owns the travis dairy received wounds that killed him inside the store. they got the call about 7:50 last night. the call came from the victim. he told police that three men came into his store, pepper sprayed him, took various items and wounded him. police wouldn't say what weapon was used. this morning neighbors say the owner was more than a businessman. >> i go to the store every day. i go there every day. every morning he always look

out the door he be like hi, how are you doing? good morning, how are you doing? >> reporter: victim transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries. police are not saying how the victim received those injuries and that seems to be one of the major points in this investigation right now. not much is known about the suspects either. police say the victims told him that the victim told police that in addition to the various items took they also took a cash register. police took something themselves videotape from the store. all they could gather. they also said that the thieves may have taken one tape recorder as well. that might hinder their investigation. but they are looking for a tan or brown car late model possibly a honda or similar car with a similar body type. reporting live in fairfield, kraig debro, ktvu channel 2 news. well, gasoline thieves are reportedly causing some problems for drivers in concord. ktvu's jade hernandez just spoke to some neighbors with their reaction. >> reporter: pam, we did speak to a few neighbors.

we checked in with the concord police department this morning and we were told by on duty overnight staff that they haven't had any reports that they're aware of. but of course there are inquiries forwarded to detectives and detectives should be in the department in just about a half hour. reporting live from concord, jade hernandez, ktvu channel 2 news. time is now 6:33. well, clean up crews go back to oakland's lake merit this morning after a diesel fuel spill out there. they'll be laying down equipment to soak up the 40- gallons of diesel fuel that spilled into the lake yesterday. fire officials say yesterday's heavy rains may have flushed the fuel down to a nearby sewer gate. right now they still don't know how the spill happened. clean up will probably take a couple of days. the city of ross is postponing a vote on water and sewer rate hikes after a heated meeting last night. the ross valley sanitation board says toilets from lark spur, green bray, kentfield and fair fax need a new sewer system. but this upgrade could mean rate hikes of up to 60%.

residents say they should not be financially responsible for replacing all the pipes in ross valley. >> we are on a really tight budget. and on a personal level this really fouls up the budget. >> rate payers presented the sanitation board with boxes of protest postcards gathered by a local businessman. under state law if half of the 18,000 property owners in the district oppose the rate hike, it dies. the board has now postponed the vote until their meeting in july when they go through the protest cards and discuss other solutions. time now 6:35. the first lawsuit has now been filed relating to that big crash between a big rig and an amtrak train last weekend where at least six people were killed. the lawsuit was filed by one of the train's attendants hurt in that crash. it claims negligence on the part of the truck driver lawrence valli and the trucking company he worked for. that company by the way also released a statement yesterday expressing its deepest sympathy

to the families and friends of those who were killed. well, the 4th of july is less than a week away and san jose police have a warning for people buying their own fireworks. they say fireworks are only legal in eleven bay area and santa cruz county cities. any fireworks not purchased from a licensed vendor are considered illegal. now coming up in just about 15 minutes we're going to tell you the cities where you can legally purchase and set off fireworks. well, bart has closed another chapter in the oscar grant case. yesterday the transit agency agreed to pay grant's family $1.3 million to settle a federal civil rights lawsuit. grant's mother, his uncle and family attorney announced the settlement during a news conference in oakland. she says no amount of money can replace her son. >> there's just not enough words to describe how my heart feels broken for the loss of my son when it was just

unnecessary. >> now the settlement also means the grant family cannot go after former officer mesherle for any additional money. time now 6:38. well, muni central subway project takes another big step forward. the board of directors unanimously approved a tunnel contract. now the federal government tentatively approved funding to pay the tunnel cost. some are telling the examiner for instance that the board should have waited until the money is in hand to award a contract. the subway when it's finished will connect muni streetcars from south of market to chinatown. service is scheduled to begin in 2019. 6:37 is the time right now. let's check back in with sal. sal what is your occupation are you keeping an eye on? almost everything, pam. things are getting more crowded now we're getting to part of the commute. you can see the flag is up at the toll plaza kind of coming in and out of our toll plaza camera. it's backed up now for about a 15 minute delay there. also the morning commute if you're driving in san francisco

looks pretty good coming up to the 80 split. northbound 280 also moves along very nicely to king street. and this morning if you're on 80 westbound you can see traffic is moving along nicely. i want to move it down to fremont hayward area. uh-oh, my map having a mind of its own. try this again. start it here. and we want to move it there. that looks better. hayward union city and fremont that traffic looks pretty good driving down to fremont from hayward on interstate 880 south. 6:38. let's go to steve. thank you, sal. we have a few sun breaks around. a lot of clouds. there will still be some showers today. i was asked a question i did not have an answer to but maybe some of the farmers and ranchers can help me out. i was asked now we have gone through the cycle where the brass is green and die off will they start to regenerate again? i wouldn't think it would be until maybe september or october but it's only one cycle. get the green hills, they die doesn't come back like that.

well. brentwood incredible rain for brentwood. vacaville all record rains for the day and they're not done yet coming out of the mendocino county sonoma county little bans wrapping around the low still over us. until the low kicks out of here into nevada some of that wrap around could develop and any sun breaks possibility of a storm or two. things are quieter. still a lot of moisture in the air and the low is right over the bay area until it gets east of tahoe. sun and clouds, a lot of clouds. showers likely though. maybe possibility of thundershowers. very mild cool temps for this time of year. temperatures 60s, upper 60s or low 70s. i mean upper 50s yesterday was as good as it gets for parts of the north bay. so by default warm up a little bit today. everything starts to calm down. night and morning fog thursday and friday. but sunshine and warmer weather takes us into the weekend however the nine and ten day outlook brings back cooler and low pressure as we head into parts of july. all right.

good morning to you. welcome back. here's a quick look at some of the top stories we're following right now at 6:44. police in fairfield say the owner of a minimart died after a violent robbery that happened last night here at the travis dairy. investigators say the victim managed to call the police and describe his attackers before he died. just hours ago the coast guard rescued three men. they fell out of their crab boat in the ocean waters near san francisco's cliff house. the rescue teams took three boaters to the coast guard station in sausalito. one of them you see him here

had to be treated for hypothermia. and president obama holds a white house news conference this morning at 8:30. he's expected to talk about those tense negotiations to raise the nation's debt limit and also reduce the federal deficit. new this morning, just about half an hour ago the greek parliament voted for unpopular budget measures. want to take you live to athens this morning. these are pictures from earlier this morning in athens where riot police clashed with protesters outside the parliament building. many people in greece are upset about the deep spending cuts and higher taxes. but the european union is insisting that the measures are needed for greece to receive crucial bail out funds. in egypt security forces clashed in cairo's square for a second day. the scene similar to the

uprising in the square earlier this year that forced former president human bark from power. prosecution of former officials killing protesters during that uprising. human rights groups estimate more than 800 people were killed during the three week revolution. time now 6:45. afghan president says his security forces will be ready to take over from foreign troops despite a deadly overnight hotel attack in kabul. eight heavily armed taliban fighters stormed the intercontinental hotel very popular among international guests. look at these pictures here. eleven civilians were killed including five afghan police officers and hotel employees. nato helicopters and afghan forces eventually killed all eight of those attackers during a four hour gun battle. meantime hotels in new york city are on alert after that hotel attack in afghanistan. new york police spokesman says there's no specific threat in

new york city. however, precautions are being taken as new york police learn more about the attack on the intercontinental hotel in kabul. this morning a man is being held at the sacramento county jail for taking a loaded handgun to an airport. police say 49-year-old was arrested yesterday afternoon at sacramento international airport. now security officers say they found a loaded gun and several rounds of ammunition in his backpack. he's being held on $60,000 bail. he'll be arraigned later this week. the government is now testing for radiation near the los alamos nuclear plant in new mexico. firefighters are on high alert watching for spot fires near the facility. people not far from the lab have expressed concern about the potential risk of radio active smoke. firefighters say there is no threat of radiation so far. most of los alamos' 12,000 residents have left but about

150 people stayed behind. our time is now 6:47. the 4th of july almost here less than a week away. tonight though the san jose police and fire departments are cracking down on fireworks safety. now as of right now fireworks can be purchased and used only in eleven cities in the bay area in santa cruz county. tonight at 6:00 at city hall san jose police and fire officials will talk about the proper use of legal fireworks. they'll also be patrolling between 3:00 p.m. july 4th and 1:00 a.m. the following day. they'll be passing out citations to people who have illegal fireworks. now here's a list of where you can buy legal fireworks now. san bruno, pacifica, union city and newark, dublin, wattsonville and sebastopol. on friday sales will begin in gill roy, clover dale, rohnert park and petaluma. all right. let's go back over to sal to check in on the roads and commute this morning. sal. all right, pam and dave, right now traffic is doing very

nicely in many areas although it is slowing down in typical spots. for example, antioch westbound 4 and also here bay point as it widens out the freeway is going to be slow coming over the hill. you can see a bart train in the background there. bart is still doing well there on time according to dispatch. westbound bay bridge that is backed up for about a ten minute wait at the toll plaza. and this morning's commute on 680 southbound looks okay. we did have an earlier crash on 680 southbound heading down through this area. however, on dotty road the injury accident southbound 680 just looking at the commute looks like a couple of slow downs but the accident had been cleared. 6:49. let's go to steve. sal, thank you. look at this. painted you a very pretty picture. clouds popping up over the hills and blue sky. a day where we get some sun but any sun just kind of adds to the cloud formation as the low is right over us. it's already starting to build up here. there's plenty going on. our system's not out of the

including the federal reserve bank of new york demanded b of a buy back $47 billion in bonds sold by the bank's country wide division. the investors say country wide ran up its expenses by servicing bad loans. bank of america by the way denied those claims. pg&e is preparing to test pipelines in parts of men lo park and woodside. they will be testing the condition of the pipeline that runs west along sand hill road to interstate 280. then continues along 280 to wood side drive. now tonight pg&e will hold a meeting to explain the testing and what people can expect. that meeting starts at 6:30 at apiscopo church. they have not said when the testing will be done. time now 6:56. counterfeit giants t-shirts and baseball caps are now headed to haiti. last fall federal agents seized the unofficial giants gear from unlicensed vendors. they were doing a big business outside at&t park during the
