support he's getting, not only in san francisco but worldwide. >> reporter: we contacted u.s. airways and we're told they would get back to us. we're still waiting for a promise from the airline. at san francisco international airport, jade hernandez, ktvu channel 2 news. a motorcyclist from southern california was killed in a crash this morning in fremont, authorities say the man was merging onto northbound 680 when he veered over the center median as was thrown from the bike. he landed on the asphalt and was pronounced dead at the scene. the accident happened around 5:30 a.m. and shut down one lane. officers say the motorcyclist was traveling about 70 miles an hour and tried to get around traffic by getting around that median. >> witnesses have told us the motorcyclist was taking the ramp, went over to the median,

in san francisco a rollover crash sent a driver to the hospital. it happened at brennan. as you can see, the car ended upside down. police say the woman was trapped in the car for about 15 minutes before she was freed by emergency crews. there's no word on any other injuries. things are back to normal at bayfair center after a small fire at the shopping mall. it started around 7:00 last night in the chun area between macy's and kohl's. it was quickly put out. firefighters say it does appear to be an electrical fire. repairs are underway in the city of belvedere.

this morning the pipe shot rocks and dirt into the air. in one case the rock smashed the back window. water officials say they don't know what caused the main to break and city officials say they don't know either. >> the age of the pipes are approximately late '50s, '60s. i'm not aware of when the last repair or replacement was done on the street. there are questions about an iconic mural in san jose. the mural of a mexican warrior has been on the corner of 4th and taylor streets for the past 25 years. this week it was painted over. this is video we shot this morning. a change came as a shock to the artist. whoever covered it up and why remains a mystery. dramatic moments in cairo,

oakland safe. >> it's been great have all of the neighbors come out. knowing your neighbors is a great way to -- to know safety. i have three small children. it's great that i can feel safe with them on the streets. they had a pretty good turnout near story and king roads. police say the crime rate is very high in that that neighborhood -- in that neighborhood. and the and the nightouts included food. a propane tank sent one man to the hospital. firefighters say a food truck driver suffered second and third degree burns on his arms. no one else was hurt. but a nearby shed and brush area caught fire. last night, firefighters were leaving a national nightout event and they saw smoke on augusta drive around 7:00 last night.

when crews arrived on scene, flames and heavy smoke were coming out of the house. at one point, the neighbor's fence started to burn, raising concerns that the fire could spread to other homes but crews managed to put that fire out. firefighters also rescued a dog in the home. no one was where the in that incident. paul loy alto police are investigating -- paul low alto police are investigating vandalism at a school. thieves made off with five apple commuters. it was the third robbery in paul low alto -- palo alto. pamela silant was rescued by helicopter. the young massachusetts woman had been stranded since falling off a cliff since sunday. she broke her leg and could

pretty rough day yesterday. the dow up just about 24 points. but the dow jones australia average throughout the afternoon has been on the lower side putting it at risk of logging the longest losing streak since 1978. it's been up and down all day. it's up now just about 27 points. plans to change san francisco's healthcare law are now on hold. right now, small businesses, including many restaurants, put money into a reimbursement account but if employees don't use the money it reverts back to the businesses. the super visor -- supervisor kamblis wanted to take that back. it did not have enough support. so he withdrew the plan. the motion picture academy with present its humanitarian
