streets are where we are now, there's still an active scene out here as the investigation continue of the fatal stabbing. the area that you are looking at, beyond the patrol cars, where you see orange crime scene tape. that is part of san jose high school. the victim was found somewhere on the grounds next to the football field and the high school. the police received a call for help just after 2:00 this morning. and when they got here they did a search of the park and found the man dead he had been stabbed. this is a very residential area. it's next to the park, a football field and san jose high school here. so far police say they have not identified any suspects. they do not know the age or identity of the victim yet and the they do not know the motive of the stabbing or what worked up to it.

san jose police are investigating a fatal stabbing. a person was, a body was discovered on the grounds of the park. this is the 28th homicide of the year. we will have an update a half an hour from now. right now, chp investigators are at the scene of an accident that shut down part of 880 overnight. the chp said two cars were involved in the crash, officers are investigating the possibility that alcohol may have been a factor. the condition of the people involved has not yet been released. family and friends of two u.c. berkeley graduates are awaiting a verdict. the foreign minister said that he hopes what the verdict will lead to the release of the two

graduates. their attorney said the man along with sarah shore accidently strayed into iran's border. nato said two people were killed in the north and two in the south. no more details. the attack comes one day after officials say the taliban shot down a helicopter with dozens of u.s. forces. this morning, we are hearing that there's fighting this morning and it's not clear who it is that is fighting but

another homicide overnight in a city that has seen a sharp increase in crime. >> good morning and welcome in. it's sunday august 7th. police are on the scene of a deadly stabbing that happened at a neighborhood park at 19th and santa clara streets. we talked to investigators and allie is at the scene with more on the investigation. >> this is the --thiss is the city's 28th homicide of the

year. this area behind us where we are standing is where police discovered the body of a man that was stabbed. this is roosevelt park that you are looking at. the bleachers you see, it is part of the football field for san jose high school. the body of the victim was found to other side of the bleachers which is the dividing line, the border for roosevelt park not on the school football field. this started after 2:00 this morning. there are crime scene investigatorsors gathering investigators. police do not know his age identity yet and they do not know the circumstances that led up to the shooting. we will continue to remain out here and gather more

information on this homicide. well san jose police chief has been on the job for about six months, he has been out of town on business 12 times. the news reports that the chief's 12 trips add up to 31 days and 9 of those trips took him all the way to washington d.c., he is defending his travel. oakland mayor is taking out of town business trips. a dozen trips taken the first six months in office. the total cost, $10,000. the former mayor spent $60,000 on travel in one year. a spokesman said that her position requires travel from time to time. the race for san francisco mayor can take a turn. mayor ed lee will take out

highway patrol said that two cars were involved in the crash, investigators are investigating the possibility that alcohol pa may have been a factor. the condition of the people involved have not been released. approximate and in santa rosa, a teen-ager had to be rescued from a car after a hit and run overnight. zakry is being treated for nonlife threatening injuries, the woman fled the scene after crashing her portia, she was under the influence of alcohol and was dropped off at the hospital an hour after the crash. she was booked into jail and charged with dui and felony hit and run. new this morning, four officers were killed in eastern afghanistan and the second attack was in the south.

firefighters in riverside county are trying get control of a fast moving brush fire, it
