have in custody two men. they are not yet sure if they are the gunman responsible for the killing of that boy or not, they are still questioning the men. international boulevard is a high crime area but the killing the of boy crossed the line with residents here. >> scared. scared. we feel like, you know -- yeah. yeah. we are afraid. >> reporter: they were inside the laundry washing clothes when the father says he heard 10 gun shots outside. it was here where a gunman driving by shot two young men who police say were the intended victims and the three- year-old boy the unintended victim. >> we have a couple leads we will track down. hopefully we bring these people to justice. i we can make sure someone is

brought to justice. >> reporter: police are still talking to witnesses and want to hear from other people who were here at 1:00 this afternoon. the two men who were shot were taken to the hospital and they are expected to survive. the boy died that children's hospital shortly after the shooting. >> before it used to be fist fights, sticks, now it's bullets. >> reporter: he opened a store two doors down, just six months go. he says this is the second homicide in this one block in the past three months. >> you don't know how tough it is to look a parent in the face and the pain they are going through and say you are sorry and you know that doesn't make a difference. >> you are looking at the sidewalk where the boy was hot and killed this afternoon. police are out here in force as

you can see. the police chief says all officers are out here at the scene and working leads. they expect to find the gunman that killed that little three- year-old. reporting live, rita williams, ktvu channel 2 news. >> a stunning development tonight in a cold case that is 30 years old. today police announced an arrest in the murder of a 14- year-old girl. investigators say advances in dna technology led them to arrest a former teammate in the stabbing debt at tina faelz. schoolmates found her body in april of 1984. fbi analysis linked evidence from the scene to a 43-year-old man. he was 16 years old at the time of the killing. for the victim's family there is still unanswered questions. >> without somebody feeling like they got to do the right

force also perished in the shoot down. ed lee announced today he is officially running to keep the title of san francisco mayor. not everyone is happy about that. ktvu's david stevenson talked to ed lee tonight about what changed his mind. >> reporter: ed lee and nine others are set to hit the stage here. this forum comes after the mayor promised not to run. he told us today about the person who pushed him to campaign. >> my second, my first campaign was senior class in high school and i won that one. it happened before midnight. investigators say a gunman opened fire on a man inside the car. that man is in critical condition. no word on what led to the gunfire. two hospitalized after being rescued from a burning home. the fire started at 11:30 last night on jackson street. firefighters say smoke was coming from a second floor bedroom when they arrived. two people were trapped inside. >> smoke coming from the top floor. we had a report of two people that were unaccounted for. they are both pulled out. >> officials say both women were burned and remain hospitalized tonight. the fire may have been caused by cigarettes. this is coyotes creek in san jose. what the city plans on doing about it. >> the problem i have is my rib

alternatives there are. >> no way. no way this will go through there. >> reporter: michael says banning foam isn't the answer. they want the city to invest in infrastructure, better storm drains or start a program to recycle foam. >> we are willing to pay for the equipment. when you process foam you want to compact it and we would buy the compacters for the cities. >> officials are listening to all the input and this will help them determine. janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. the lock down at napa state hospital has been lifted after a patient was attacked. happened saturday night to a technician. in an interview with ktvu the victim says he was hit on the head and this was the sixth time he has been attacked while on the job. >> probably my co-workers who

was with me that night, i was calling her help, hope. i am going to die. >> the victim also says the person who attacked him attacked two other people and only been there for a month. san jose police identified a man stabbed to death in a park. officers found the body at roosevelt park before 3:00 a.m. he is the 28 home side victim in san jose this year. there were 20 last year. at this time no arrests have been made. police are asking if anyone seen a missing 15-year-old girl. he was reported missing by her father last night when he kiddant return home from a walk. her family says she may have taken bart to san francisco to meet a man she found online.

she was wearing a gray jacket a pink shirt pink shoes. a man died last night when his car hit a tree. investors -- investigators say danny cox was drived 60- pyruvate mimes an hour in his car. last year he broke his neck. leaving his paralyzed. he was alone in the car and no other vehicles were involved. fresh and easy is recalling some of its spinach over fears of a bacteria contamination. it issued the recall after a bag of its spinach tested positive for listeria. the spinach includes bags with

there. this low pressure, the dominate feature in our weather for eight months for the winter. this low pressure, when this thing moves it's going to change, it's not moving. that's where we are. that low wants to stay there and that continues with this pattern. you may love this pattern, lot of folks do. that's pleasant. good air quality, and fire danger is manageable. if you are along the coast, pacifica or half moon bay you may be kind of -- lot of fog out here. depends on your perspective. if you are over the fog, drive 10 miles east and you will find sunshine. this is how it goes. no big changes heading our way
