four teens escaped in the county. they made the escape on picks lar road -- picks lar road. here is kraig debro with details on the search and why people nearby were told to stay inside and lock their doors. kraig debro? >> reporter: there is not much going on right now there was a shelter in place, was for residents in discovery bay and that ended five minutes ago and they called the sheriff's office to get an update on the search. the news caused a brief panic from a local safe way and police stopped by to tell them about the escape. they heard noises on the roof of the building and they thought it might be escapes and when they looked on the roof

they found they were roofers and not the juveniles. >> four teens escaped, one is believed to be dangerous. people in the byron and discovery bay areas are advised to take shelters for the nearest place of safety, go inside and close and lock all windows and doors, stay off the phone unless you need to report a life-threatening emergency at your location. the first is described as a black male 15 years old, six feet 3-inch the tall weighing 300 pounds... >> the 911 calls went to both byron and discovery bay. the recording is telling residents to use the phone only incase of emergencies and stay inside and lock all doors and windows. they just started to tell you the descriptions. two black males both 15 years

old, one 6-foot 3, 300 pounds and two hispanic males both 14, one is five feet 110-pounds. so far no information as to what offense they committed to be in this facility in the first place and we are still checking with the sheriff's office for that information. reporting live in byron, kraig debro ktvu channel 2 news. police rammed into a liquor store. it happened around 10:00 last night. again the officer was responded to an armed robbery when he hit the curb and went straight into the store but again neither the officer for anyone inside the store was hurt we are told they have retained a suspect in

connection with the robbery while the other had escaped. two uc berkeley students have been detained in iran and we have a surprise announcement by the president of the iran. >> reporter: it is now in the hands of the swiss embassy and the u.s. and iran do not have diplomatic relations. the state department says they are in close contact with them. if shane bauer and john fetterman are released it will -- and josh fattal are released it will cost them. their families are trying to come up with the money to secure their release. the two men have been in prison for the last two years and just last month, it appears they faced a set back after an iranian court sentenced them to

illegal crossing. they had accused them of spying for the u.s. after the three of them crossed the border on a hike in 2009. they had crossed over accidentally and had maintained their innocence since then. shaw shaw was released on humanitarian grounds and her release also came with a price tag. the court ordered her to pay 500,000 before she was released and it appears they be -- they may be part of a similar agreement. their families are not ready to issue any comments on the possible release just yet and two hikers have been initially cleared by the iranian court but if they can come up with a million dollars they could be freed on thursday. time now 6:05, well the so-

release. they have been imprisoned for more than two years and just last month it appears their case had faced a set back after they had been sentenced to two years in prison for espionage. a third hiker shaw shaw was accused as well after -- sarah shaw was accused as well. they crossed over accidentally and have strongly maintained their innocence since then. they were released on humanitarian and medical grounds and her release also came with a price tag. she was also ordered to pay $500,000 bail and it appears their release may be due to a similar arrangement. she said the family is not ready to comment on the possible release or talk about it just yet. again the two hikers have not

been officially cleared by the iranian court and right now there is the swiss embassy which reps iran. they are working on some of the details of the possible release and again if the two men, john fetterman and shane bauer can secure $500,000 each in bail they could be released as early as thursday. the search is underway for to your teens who escaped from a youth detention facility. it happened last night at the byron county area. we understand the search has been called off this morning? >> yes, it has been lifted since 5:00 this morning 90 minutes ago. there is more light and this is the boy's ranch in byron. a couple of things happened, a couple of sheriff's deputies

pulled up. i spoke to one of the teachers at the school here and she tells me she recognizes them by their description at least two of the boys asked if they were trouble makers. she said this is a camp. take a look at this. now the security, she was referring to the security. if you walk to the end of that fence you can get into this facility easily and conversely would imagine once outside you can get out as well. now i have called the sheriff's office to get an update on the search. >> four juveniles escaped from the boy's ranch this morning. >> reporter: they went to discovery bay and they are telling residents to lock all doors and windows and use the phones only in cases of emergency and released descriptions of the four boys.

the news caused a panic at a safe way. later in the evening some of the workers heard noises on the roof so they called police thinking those noises were escapes. here are the descriptions two are black males 6-foot 3, 300 pounds, 6-foot 4, 170 pounds for the other. both five foot, one is 110 pounds and one is 125 pounds and the 300-pound boy who escaped has mental disabilities and is mentally challenged and believed to be dangerous. reporting live kraig debro ktvu channel 2 news. well right now one person is in serious condition at san francisco general hospital after being hit by a car.

that collision just happened. the driver of the car is cooperating. this are four people in the car but the driver did not appear to be in paired. police toed the car as part of the investigation. firefighters are investigating an apartment fire. a viewer sent us these pictures on newton avenue and lester avenue at 8:30 last night. firefighters had everything under control in less than 45 minutes. one man was hurt but his injuries do not appear to be serious. one man found dead inside an oakland home had been found standed that according to an autopsy report. they found the victim's body after responding to a fire on coolage and nichole avenue.

on the rise after a second student is sexually assaulted in just one week. on sunday a female student reported being sexually assaulted off campus. this comes after another student said a man lawyered her into an alley on labor day. according to the california department of justice violent crime is down 6.9% and that includes homicide and rape. robbery is down 10%, motor vehicle theft is down 6%. that number includes both juvenile and arrest rates and this information is based on data from police and sheriff's departments from all 58 counties. sal, i am nervous asking

sunny partly sunny skies this afternoon. you have to brush some of these thunderstorms that could drift over from the sacramento valley into mendocino valley and boy in the higher elevations they are exploding up there. a lot of locationels are closer to the coast and bay. west at 12 and only 9 at fairfield but that's not much of a delta breeze. the system that is responsible is this low that's right down there. coming out of the gulf of alaska it is pretty impressive. there is always an out lie but for most inland temperatures they will be in the mid-80s. they will be in the 60s and a lot of 70s. extended outlook, you can get a little bit of anything, showers off to the east and a lot of
