moving into arizona and southern nevada. we will see a decrease in that. there is a lot of fog out there. 50s and 60s. 55 concord. west, southwest at fairfield. napa southwest and vacaville has a southwest. that tells me and you there are low clouds making its way over the coastal hills. that is the one that sat there for five days. it's getting pushed along by another system coming president pacific northwest. more fog and cooler. windy on the coast. temperatures will drop off a good ten degrees. instead of 90 for concord we will go 80 today. it looks like a cool they on the peninsula. 50s and 60s on the coast and in the city. right now traffic is doing pretty well around the bay area. we are looking at traffic that is moving along very nicely on highway 4 coming up to the

a seat on the school board, but the public is finding out she is admitting she kidnapped four girls. that is not all. she spent more than a year at a psychiatric hospital to get better and pay for what she did. she kidnapped four girls from a bus stop back in 1998 in illinois. one of the girl's mothers refused to give she'llly custody of one-her daughters. she lost that race. we will try to get ahead of her and members of the school board for comment. kraig debro. a new and potentially disappointing development in the case of two uc berkeley graduates ohm prisoned in iran. it is still reviewing details of a bail proposal for josh fattal and shane bauer. the two americans could be

freed in days on a half million dollars bail each. but iran's ruling govern court decision. in overnight news police are investigating a shooting near 580 in richmond. officers received an emergency call at 12:45 this morning at cutting boulevard and south 25th street. when police arrived, they found a man who had been shot. he was taken to john mere medical center in serious condition. there are no suspects at this time. authorities do not say how many shots were fired. six people were evacuated from an apartment complex after a bucket holding chlorine tablets exploded. they said it happened in a room that contains the buildings pool pump. firefighters confirm the explosion was from a desolving

chlorine substance. no one was injured but some people report mild throat irritation from the gas. a san jose man that created an hours long bomb scare is in jail this morning. 63-year-old mark sedlock is a convicted felon who is not allowed to possess weapons or ammunition. they found eight explosive devices. ten neighboring homes had to be evacuated. police dug a hole in sedlock's front yard where i where they detonated the explosives. neighbors were allowed back into their homes at about 11:00 last night. police are looking into why sedlock had so many explosives and weapons. the military and nevada police are looking into how a 15-year-old boy obtained a rocket propelled grenade launcher. they pulled the teenager for

blaring loud music from his vehicle when they saw the grenade launcher. they brought in a bomb squad robot to retrieve the rocket. >> it's unusual to locate a device a rocket launcher in the back of the vehicle. >> it's a little scary. very scary. >> now this youtube video gives an example of the destructive power. the teen was booked into juvenile hall as felony charges. he has a brother that served or still in the military. disappointment among parents and teachers this morning at clayton valley high school after the mount diablo school board only gave partial

approval. the board approved the charter petition but with conditions. district analysts say there are problems with accountability and the academic plan. >> it was a sound precision. i'm very disappointed. i had higher hopes for the board. >> supporters now have to address a list of concerns in a new plan. they will present it to the school board in early february and the board will take another vote. the deadline on the new state law is looming for more than 700 students in gilroy. they have just nine days to prove they have received their vaccination against whopping cough. coming up at 4:45 what the district will do if students can't produce their immunization records. vallejo police want people to be on alert after metal thieves strike three times in one week. the latest incident happened early sunday morning at the

intersection of redwood and columbus parkways. all eight electrical boxes at that intersection were stripped of their signal wiring. in the past six months metal thieves have stolen street light wiring in 40 areas of the city. the high price of copper is to blame. 4:36. this morning a congressional panel is holding a hearing on the bankruptcy filing of fremont based solyndra. it received more than $500 million in federal stimulus loans. two solyndra executives were invited to appear before the panel this morning but they said they need to remain in california because they are in investigation of purchases. the company gave a detailed look at their new system at the build windows conference

it's 4:38 let's go to steve. >> thank you. yesterday coastal locations around the bay not bad. 60 and 70s inland. not the case today. there is a stronger sea breeze. it will stay foggy at the coast. we will drop off 5-10 degrees from yesterday's highs. a cooling trend will take us all the way into friday. it are be very, very proinsuranced cooling trend as we head into the next couple of days. we will bottom out if not thursday but friday. really impressive fire storm complex. but the source of that the low is now moving. as it does you can see it's covering a wide area. going into the four corners. maybe some of the wrap around will hit into las vegas. things should calm down as the upper atmosphere gets a westerly direction instead of a southerly direction. 50s and 60s a lot of these low clouds starting to fly in.

and there is a no doubt about it sea breeze there. west, southwest fairfield. southwest vacaville. even west, northwest to west sfo. the delta breeze is in place because the one system is moving out and a very strong system or getting that time of year we have to take a look at things. there is no sign of any rain. there is a sign of opening the door to the sea breeze. that will usher in a bigger fog bank and windy conditions. foggy by the coast today. fog, sun cooler though across the board. 50s, 60s, and 70s. instead of 90s now a lot of low to mid 80s as temperatures slide down here. looks like wednesday, thursday, friday will be a cooling trend. with your weekend in view a little warmer friday and more so on sunday. >> thank you, steve. fogging is scheduled for tonight in south san jose after mosquitoes tested positive for west nile virus. weather permitting crews plan

yesterday. they say 19-year-old david lee hall and three juveniles are seen in this sur available lens video running -- surveillance video running from the scene. the four are accused of shooting and killing 42-year- old antonio torres to steal a gold necklace he was wearing and an ipod. the break came when one of the teens bragged about the shooting. an arkansas courthouse will remain closed today after a gunman opened fire inside. he was armed with two handguns and assault rifle. the gunshots sent court workers scrambling for cover. two people were hurt including a court secretary. both are expected to recover. >> i called 911 and i looked up and he was coming down the hall. he had on a long duster and he was spur ratically shooting. i tole the girls -- i told the girls in the office to dive under the desk. >> the gunman died in a

shootout with police. the san jose city council voted to limit the number of marijuana clubs in the city to ten. there are currently 130 medical marijuana dispensaries within the city limits. yesterday's decision will likely force more than 100 medical marijuana clubs to shut down or relocate. all of the clubs will have to apply for new permits which are expected to be issued on a first come first serve basis next month. the environmental group save the bay has identified five bay area water ways that it calls trash hot spots. those walter ways are the gatt lieu pay river in san jose. pool gust creek. davis slew in oakland. mission creek in san francisco. and baxter creek in richmond. save the bay says these are polluted. san francisco mayor ed lee

'cause you like to be in them. welcome back to the morning news. tomorrow amtrak will resume eastbound train service between chicago and emeryville. the tracks were damaged earlier this summer from accidents and flooding. one accident happened late last month in nebraska where a train hit a farm vehicle. westbound service begins friday out of chicago. transportation officials are working on making airport security more kid friendly. homeland security secretary jan net napolitano made that

announcement yesterday. kids will go through body scanners or metal detectors instead of being patted down. this comes after outrage over videos like these showing children being screened. napolitano says the changes will be rolled out in the coming weeks. an ohio woman says her middle eastern appearance led to her being forced off this airplane and interrogated. she was sitting next to two men that were spending a lot of time in the bathroom. fighter jets escorted the plane to detroit and police entered the men plane when it landed. the woman says she and the two men were taken off the plane and she was strip searched before being released. none of these three were an actual threat. we are hearing from the family of a september 11th victim who's name is misspelled on the world trade center

memorial. on sunday janice heart and her family made the trip to new york looking for the name of her mother. he was killed when the world trade center collapsed. heart says the name on the memorial is all she has left of her brother. when she finally found it she noticed the mistake. >> the memorial it was jeffery. and it's supposed to be spelled jeffrey. the memorial organization has apologized for the mistake. they are working on a solution to that problem. facebook users should expect to see some changes on their profiles today. the social work networking site will automatically group friends into smart lists based on a common workplace, school, city, and county. that bay users will receive fewer updates from people they are not close to.

it will be cooler inland. we will drop ten degrees. we are going into a cooling trend over the next ten or four days. the doors is open for the fog bank. the west, southwest wind. the thunderstorm activity was really it deserves awhile. there is the low as it -- it was sitting off point conception. just hanging out. well now it's getting bumped along by the system move into the north. thunderstorm activity should if anything should be on the lee side. they had flight delays down in san diego. but that whole system now move into the four corners. i was reading the discussion out of phoenix national weather service they were like thunderstorms anywhere today. if you have any travel plans toward that direction, there will probably be good boomers. for us things calm down. 55 in the city.
