others but highs today coming down around the bay and yesterday still warm but not as warm as the day before. today i am wrestling with a lot of these temperatures, no problem along the coast, 70s on the bay, if the sea breeze kicks in let's go with it. traffic is moving along nicely if you are driving in many areas. let's look at highway 4 which looks good towards the willow pass grade. as we mentioned the tunnel is looking good as well. also this morning's commute looks pretty good in oakland on north and southbound 880 with no major issues and westbound traffic is moving along nicely across the san mateo bridge and coming up we will run some fog advisories in the regular traffic report, 4:30 let's go

back to pam. topping our news in just a couple of hours 23 nurses at sutter and keizer hospital will go on strike. nurses will walk the picket lines at 7:00 a.m. they are walking off to protest proposed concessions by sutter health. union leaders wants to restrict nurse's ability to advocate for patients, reduce health coverage and eliminate nurse's sick days? >> can you imagine the risk i could pose to pregnant women and their children if i were ill. it is really frightening to me. >> kaiser nurses have a contract but they are joining the strike in sol dartty . in all, nurses at all facilities will walk the picket lines. hospitals are hiring replacement nurses to walk during the strike though many elective surgeries are being postponed. here is a complete list of the affected hospitals, look

for the section at the front page of www.ktvu.com. crank calling 911 could cost you if you live in vallejo. joining us with more to explain a special new fee that is set to go into effect soon. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, it could be a crank call or accidental call but 4 is times somebody calls 911 hangs up and when a dispatcher calls them back nobody answers. now if you do that you could pay, it is called the cost recovery fee for the misuse of the 911 system. what is basically means, you better know what you are doing. they don't want to discourage anybody who has a legitimate emergency from calling 911 because they want to be there but keep in minds vallejo is facing dramatic cuts. talking about the police department they have dropped

from 121 officers -- or 151 officers to 90 and firefighters dropped to 68 firefighters. and dispatchers have gone from 21 to 17. >> to see so few people trying to serve the citizens, a population of almost 120,000 people with such a cut back streamlined police department fire department in fact every department in the city has been impacted. >> reporter: so what the city does not want to do is waist it's time on calls that are actual emergencies. if someone calls 911 and hangs up and the dispatchers call back and nobody picks up two officers have to be sent there to make sure there is no emergency and that's what they want to avoid. it goes into effect on october

highway 17 and that traffic is moving well. now with the real story on the weather, hell hoe steve. -- hello steve. >> a few pockets some fog reduced visibility on the bridges big difference the fog has really increased and the fog bank is much bigger today than it was yesterday but it's still only around 1,000 feet. it will make it to parts of the north bay peninsular south and east bay will still be in line for very warm temperatures, although when you get the southwest winds starting to pick up from the delta it is on the cuss. if it starts to collapse it will still be a toasty day inland. there is a lot of low clouds banked on coast and moving over of the bay an areas where there is least resistance. there is a lot of energy and a

in the deadly beating of a mentally ill homeless man is now underway. manuel ramos was charged with second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter yesterday. he was charged with excessive force and pled not guilty.$♪ the two officers beat kelly thomas during an altercation in july. kelly died five days later. >> how could somebody keep beating you after that, how do they live with themselves, i don't understand that at all. >> officers were investigating car break-ins at the time of the attack. thomas violently resisted arrest but the district attorney called the attack unprovoked. four other officers involved in the beating remain on administrative leave. a shooting in vallejo, take a look, it is from a business on broadway recorded shortly
