they live in fear he is still on the loose. poll finds that most california voters support the death penality. but that more and more people are favoring life in prison without patrol. all executions have been on hold since 2006. a judge ordered the state to address questions about whether california's lethal injection method was cruel and painful. voters supported the death penality as punishment for first-degree murder but the numbers are changing. 68% favor keeping the death penality. 27% want to do away with it. that's a big change from 25 years ago. when asked what they would prefer, 48% chose life in prison without patrol. 40% said the death penality. in 2000 they preferred the death penality over life in prison and there are more signs
