lloyd lacuesta tells us where the man hunt came to an end. >> reporter: you can see on the garage door there bull bullet holes as many as 24. many cars have been moved from the drive. >> all of a sudden i heard pop, pop, pop. >> reporter: the coroner's office confirmed the man shot this morning was shareef allman. investigators say he is the man seen on this surveillance video walking through a cupertino gas station. this after police say he shot and killed three coworkers and wounded six others at the lee high cement plant. police had sealed off this neighborhood for hours and didn't find him until morning. >> these houses built with 55 had external access so it was

just a little area you could shoot beneath the house. >> we believe he displaced the firearm in a threatening manner. >> reporter: exactly what set off allman may have died with him. coworkers said he was having problems at work and being scrutinized for safety violations. a week and a half a ago, allman showed him a gun. >> he said check this out, i said what are you doing with that? what's going on? he laughed and being funny with me the whole time. and he was like, people at my job, he's like prejudice people at my job keep messing with me. >> reporter: an executive at the cement plant says there was no racism and allman had not been fired and there were no plans to do so. lloyd lacuesta, ktvu channel 2

news. and more details now, a ktvu camera got this picture of a rifle under a dumpster. it is one of three guns that turned up in their search for allman. a friend of allman's who we spoke with today said allman did have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. plus lee high cement said, our first priority right now is taking care of our people. an man hunt caused a back up as police searched for the person that shot a woman. tonight police are still looking for that suspect.

jana katsuyama is live now at the scene of the robbery on mcarthur boulevard. jana, what did you learn about the incident tonight. >> reporter: we understand she was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries the driver meanwhile went down mcarthur boulevard and he didn't get far before he crashed. >> oakland police approached the suspect's 1990lexus where their gunned drawn but they found the driver had already run off. the car had crashed down an enbankment to westbound 580. police quickly set up a perimeter and began the man hunt. police spread out searching the thick brush with dogs. the shooting happened ant two clock this -- about 2:00 this afternoon. woman say the woman was shot in

they're not sure -- this week's storm is reminding a lot of people of winter. at some points today it was absolutely pouring. san francisco saw almost half an inch of rain from this latest storm system. and across the bay in oakland our cameras caught a bike rider who was determined to stay dry during one of today's many downpours. check out what an alert viewer captured with his camera this afternoon. this is the first of what appeared to be two small funnel clouds seen over oakland. this one was shot just after 1:00 and lasted for about eight minutes. we're told the second one lasted a little less than three minutes. our chief meteorologist bill martin bill martin will be here at 10:20 to break down today's rain totals and tell us about big changes in the coming days. new at 10:00 tonight, three men are being stopped by police. a man's body was found in a

vehicle in the parking lot. deputies would like to talk to any witnesses. the shooting happened shortly after 2:00 this afternoon. the three men were reported to be in a black cadillac. at least 12 members of the vagos motorcycle club are under arrest tonight following a series of coordinated arrests. the arrest followed this deadly shooting in the casino. a vagos gang member was arrested. police in san francisco state university said they are doing extra patrols tonight after a report of a sexual assault. police say the attack happened last friday night inside a room at the towers residence hall. the 18-year-old victim was visiting campus to attend a party with the friends. police say the attacker lured her into an elevator and that's

a suspected car thief is on the lose tonight following a chase that ended in alameda. this video of the scene came into the ktvu newsroom about an hour ago. we're told a sheriff's deputy ran the license plate on the car and came back as stolen. the chase started in san leandro it ended with the driver getting off and taking off on foot. a south bay pastor is taking on an extreme solution on homelessness. that group of pastor was out urging people to take over vacant buildings. >> this is one of the vacant houses they say should be opened up to people who don't have a place to stay especially on a cold night like tonight. they put a flower on the fence. while they did not try to take this place over, their pastor tells me it is a real possibility.

a dark suv. pacifica police say the pit bull attacked 32-year-old darla napura inside her home in august. investigators say napura's home came home from work and found the pit bull standing over his wife's body. police say something set off the dog but they don't know what. a trial date is now set for the lawsuits against pg & e for that san bruno pipeline explosion. the gas explosion killed eight people last month. a superior court judge set the trial for july 24th of last year. more 90 suits have been filed against pg & e. another suit by the utility against shareholders will be held separately. apple enthusiasts are remembering steve jobs through the innovative products that have changed our lives. from the mac classic to the i pad. as ktvu's sal castaneda reports many of us have grown up with the technology and consider apple a part of the family. >> many say the passing of steve jobs has reminded them of

oracle products. the government released its jobs numbers today. first time claims increased by 6,000 to 401,000. that's a sign the job market remains weak. the number of people continuing to collect jobless benefits fell by 52,000 to 3.7 million. san francisco based gap stores reported same store sales dropped 4% in september. according to the san francisco business times the retailer said september year to year net sales were almost the same at $1.35 billion. in contrast pleasanton based ross stores reported september same store sales were up 5% while net sales were up 9%. here are the closing numbers from wall street where stocks rallied for a third straight day. the dow closed up 183 points. the nasdaq composite finished up 46 points. investors are optimistic about

weather for fleet week looks almost perfect as it often is this time of year. lots of rain, thundershower today. what we're going to experience now is this cold weather. right now in the napa valley i have temperatures in the low 40s. this area up around san helena and napa. we're going to see overnight lows in the 40s. maybe some upper 30s as well. means tomorrow will be the coldest morning of the season so far with most of us having some overnight lows in the mid- 40s. that's chilly for this time of year. so as we head into your bay area week end it'sgoing to warm up. but the overnight low tonight and tomorrow morning, tomorrow morning and then again saturday morning are going to be a little chilly. this low pressure will move out. it's going, almost out of area.
