point as we come to the willow pass grade, 680 traffic looks good from that area. the traffic is getting busier and this morning if you are on 80 from richmond heading to berkeley, it looks good. there in dublin also as you hit 680, let's go to steve. very muggy and humid, it will clear later and warmer with 70s and we are on our way to seeing some 80s by tomorrow but today will be a gradual warmup and lows are sitting in the mid-60s and today santa rosa 76 and cord along with san jose 76 and tomorrow we will bump those highs up to mid-70s

. welcome back to the morning news, 6:12, a friend's funeral landed three people in the emergency room. the three unknowingly ate brownies with medical marijuana. they were rushed to the hospital after complaining the disneyness and police say the brownies were laced in memory of the deceased who often enjoyed the medical marijuana treat. coming up, new medical marijuana candy and it is in about 1,000 stores in the buffalo area. parents are angry and asking

really friendly. >> police are not releasing any other details saying the case is still under investigation but if you have any information call san jose police or crime stoppers. they will grant amnesty to more than 683 prisoners. more than 2000 political prisoners will be among those freed. it could help repair the country's relations with the u.s. and other western nations. the hurricane is expected to make landfall in mexico early evening and the storm was felt with winds speeds up to 115 miles per hour. people are being told to prepare for mudslides and they have already closed down airports in anticipation of large waves. it is now over, the window

for commercial fishermen ended on friday and more than 655,000 salmon were caught. in some news, they can continue catching salmon until october 31st. they want free muny passes for all students and they say getting to and from school has become more difficult. the price is up from two years ago and on top of that the unified school district has reduced its bus service. 18 minutes after 6:00 and you know it is time to check in on the bay bridge toll plaza. it is, right now it is going to be a little bit slow at the toll plaza and they have turned on the metering lights. no major problems getting on to the bridge.

also this morning we are looking at the commute northbound and southbound 880 and it is moving nicely passed the coliseum. 580 looks good and so does 680 from pleasantton to fremont. a couple of little breaks mainly towards the east and overall observations are saying cloudy and drizzle. there is a lot of drizzle although it seems to be letting up a little bit and higher clouds are gone and that's the good news. life storm traffic is picking up that drizzle and most of it does not show up. what is showing up is 60 to 64 and high pressure is on the way. it will give us a warmup but there are a lot of clouds and fog here in the morning and drizzle gives way to sunshine and warmer temperatures in a very muggy day. 60s0s and 70s, today will warmup a little bit and today

san bruno. the gas will be released at sand hill road and that's part of the pipeline that travels through stamford university on to san francisco. the gas is being released to test the pipeline's strength. they may be able to give size moll gifts early warning about the next great quake. they have 70 sensors strategically placed to measure tiny electromagnetic pulses and they will test eye onized -- eye beyondized air and they hope to detect earthquakes days before they strike. >> if we save one life it is great but potentially we may save thousands. >> we are asking people to

protesters have their signs out in front of their tents expressing their frustration with the political situation in this country. now even though camping in front of city haul is technically a vials -- city hall is technically a violation of the city code they will not kick them out. but they are not sure how long they will be able to stay and we will try to find out more about that. demonstrations started yesterday at 4:00 which is when 500 people metaphor a rally in front of -- met for a rally in front of city hall. they metaphor a variety of causes they are frustrated about but the one thing they are unified in is the economic situation of the country. >> i think wall street -- occupied wall street started from this and it is catching on

looking to see if ed lee violated campaign laws. they want law enforcement to look into $8,000 in contributions made to lee's campaign by employees of a shuttle company. they say a mayor asked them to make donations and told them they would be reimbursed. the spokesperson for ed lee said the money was returned after one of the workers did not confirm the money was from his personal funds. a company giving money to solyndra is facing more scrutiny this morning. the california congress is raising questions now about the program. nba season is now canceled after negotiations with the players' union broke down last night in new york city. both sides are trying to reach

observations say cloudy, yesterday's was not too bad, petaluma .60, millwood valley also picked up 2 / 10th but there were very heavy tolls especially in mendocino, now the sun can burn off the lower clouds, there are a few breaks but it is really mild. we will start off 62 and go for a high of 68 degrees, clearing later, warmer and 70s will start to show up for many. we do have a start of a warming trend wednesday and thursday and some of that drizzle was showing up on life storm tracker 2 only because it is close to the radar but it is decreasing a little bit. 63 in hayward, 63 napa fairfield and san jose so

everybody is close on the temperatures once that fog deck burns off we will be good to go and high pressure will kick in for a couple of days. i would not say it will be large and in charge but it will be here, higher clouds are gone, clearing with a northerly breeze, may be off shore at best but it will be warmer with 70s and 80s. still some drizzle and once it clears up a little more sunshine and you will notice 60s and 70s a lot of mid-70s here. we will go 74 in free mop, 68 -- fremont, 60s and 70s on the coast and they will start to stretch it a little bit more with warmer weather and with your weekend in view, it will be a little bit cooler.

. some of the top stories we are following, cupertino has reopened for the first time since last week's shooting rampage. they plan to make it fully operational within a week and at the same time they will have grieve counselors available for returning workers. and a fatal collision, police were on the scene collecting evidence after a train hit and killed a man around midnight and this morning president barack obama travels to pennsylvania to push for passage of his job's plan. the bill is expected to fail a test vote in the senate today. uc berkeley continues to grow and kraig debro has more

on where officials have traced the outbreak. >> reporter: vaccines will be given at university health services center and i did speak with a representative of the cdc and he said not only are they aware of the outbreak but they are started to provide assistance. they have started to provide the vaccine to uc berkeley and prior orty will be given to people that share common eating areas. there is no need to make an appointment for uc berkeley students and staff but there is a need for the vaccine. >> we do expect it to continue to spread and in fact we are seeing more possible cases every day. >> reporter: the school traced the outbreak to a student who came back from europe.

have a big surprise after a convenience store clerk came through, one of them started firing sending two workers scrambling for cover and one was able to reach for cover right there on the screen. he shot one of the suspects and they both took off running. one is in custody and the search continues for the other. squatters have taken over an abandoned san francisco hotel and police are not doing anything to stop them. every year hundreds of thousands die for lack of adequate housing. >> they are part of the homes not jails troop. they have a 20 year history for taking over abandoned buildings for the homeless. they are raising questions

about the feds roll program that -- federal program that awarded alone to solyndra. they have concerns about other companies that received the loan guarantees from the department of energy. they are interested in the $4.75 billion in loan guarantees awarded on september 30th, the last day of the federal loan program. >> one of the questions we have for the secretary is, tell us why that last day somehow you had everything you needed and you didn't have it over a period of time before. >> e-mails released-year-old earlier this month considered another loan companies laid off their employees. sal, it is a little bit of a different story. that's right, more people have to go to work today and you will see at the toll plaza, it is normal and i am not
