the mission district. you can see all the water gushing onto the road. the crew had to wait for a tow truck to take the car away before they could fix the problem. ktvu's tara mor quartty joins us with details on the new campus threat. well, school officials received a fax here at concord high school, saying that someone was going to show up at 10:00 in the morning and start shooting. an audio warning was sent out to parents last night. we will have extra administrators on campus for additional support. >> reporter: concord police will have extra officers on hand as well as at eldorado middle school and the

elementary school. classes will be in session. police want to ensure that nothing happens. they're asking people to be observant and report anything suspicious. last week there was a similar situation where someone sent an anonymous threat to a school official. there was not a credible threat and school went on as planned. live in concord, i'm tara moriarity. >> activists have been camped out near city hall for close to two weeks now, but the city of oakland posted an order on its website last night saying activists must vacate the plaza every night. a long standing rat problem, public urination and vandalism are all cited for reasons for the new order. they can peacefully assemble between 6-a.m. and 10:00 p.m.

we've been watching the -- overnight. a 4.0 quake hit the berkeley area at 2:41 yesterday afternoon. a 3.0 quake jolted the same area at 8:00 p.m. last night. the quakes were felt as far north as sacramento and as far south as gilroy. now, both quakes were centered about half a mile south of the cal campus on the hayward fault and the shaking created tense moments for construction workers around hall stadium. it also rattled cafes in berkley. >> i saw the glasses that were shaking and people were looking around. >> seismologist say the second quake was an after shock, but they say there's still a possibility of more quakes in hours and days ahead. now, jay hernandez was in

the organization that runs oracle arena is in a holding pattern on how to use the court and what to do on game days. >> we can't make your decisions until we know what the nba is going to do, so really we don't have an answer at this point. all games through november 14 november 14th have been canceled. many more are in jeopardy. the sides are far apart. now, 4:36, let's go back to sal for a look at traffic this morning. sal? traffic is doing pretty well around the bay area. traffic is moving well in many of these pictures we're going to show you, the east shore freeway, the traffic looks good with no major problems. the westbound bay bridge approach looks good. the last couple of days have been good, but it's light coming into san francisco. and this morning's commute on 280 is off to a good start, getting up to highway 17.

it's 437. >> fall is out there again, but it's going to burn off sooner. you can see it going right down the coast, a sign of things to come as far as warmer weather. yesterday it was really tough to burn it off. upper 40s to mid 50s in the bay. san jose is at 55. west-southwest out of fairfield and west at sfo. so we have a little component of the sea breeze. it's there. one system kept the fog and drizzle in the north bay going through most of the area. you can see it's lifting off further north. we're not going to get a classic offshore wind, but we will get good old fashioned high pressure and that means it's going to be warmer. the fog gets squashed and burns off sooner this weekend. if you're in the sun, might be in the warm category. upper 70s to 80s degrees, 60s

southern california were shot to death after being taken hostage by 19 pirates. mckay had ties to the area. her mother lives in south san francisco. today's sentencing is for the 11 11th man to plea guilty. he faces a mandatory life in prison sentence. a man is in jail in connection to the shooting death deaths of people in -- >> he was taken into custody in oakland with the help of the swat team. investigators believe stevenson opened fire on an suv parked outside a tattoo party at a warehouse earlier this month. three people were killed, including a 16-year-old. tips from the public helped track stevenson down. investigators say they don't know the motive for the shooting. they're still looking for a second gunman. a middle school is warning parents about a possibly deadly game that its students are

witnesses. murray has pled not guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges. hertz is firing muslim drivers at the airport. they needed to clock out when they took time for daily prayers. 34 workers were suspended last night because they did not punch out for their paid breaks. nine of these workers said they would clock out and they're back on the job. the company says that's necessary because some workers were taking longer than the ten minutes allowed. anyone who spend a long time talking on the cell phone will be reassured by a big new study. danish researchers found no link between cell phone use and developing cancer. 350,000 people were followed for ten years. one group criticizes is the study saying it can take decades to see signs of brain cancer. and san francisco cell phone stores will not have to post

major problems here. we've had a couple of major wrecks on the bay bridge yesterday and the traffic was backed up all the way onto here. if you're going on eastbound 80 on the right, you will see traffic is moving well. this morning, we don't have any word of any construction work. all the lanes are open for you. also this morning we're looking at westbound to our northbound and southbound 880 right near the coliseum. that traffic is moving along very nicely. 580 traffic looks good over to the lake shore curve. of course it's nice and early so you don't have to worry about any of the slowdowns, really. and, as we go to the maps, just looking at the overview of the east bay, don't see a lot of slow traffic in the east bay. the maps get color coated and we get to oakland here. traffic is moving along nicely. as i mentioned, eastbound 580, a little bit of slowing as you approach a traffic zone. we're off to a nice start.
