today we're doing something a little different -- we're counting down what we think are the day's best videos and stories. >> of all the videos we've been countdown. the best of the best. we start with number 20, steven's got it. >> it's dash cam video of a crash in the middle of the night. but this time, it's not between two vehicles. let's go to state trooper lonnie pregna pregler's car. boom, a deer comes out from the side of the road. the photos from the aftermath of this crash and the video were released by the minnesota state patrol. this was how the car was left. a huge hole in the windshield. obviously some damage on the side of the door. the antlers, the head of this deer crashed through the windshield. the antler broke off and was stuck there in the car.

fortunately, state trooper pregler survived. just walked away with a few bumps and bruises. think about the speed he was going. that antler could have totally impaled him. >> almost every single time you hear of a story like this, some major damage is done, not just to the car, but sometimes the people. >> the dash cam was completely destroyed. it's corn harvest season in minnesota, so collisions like this between deer and vehicles, very common. but very uncommon to see it caught on video. the minnesota department of public safety is sort of letting people know, the little slogan -- don't veer for deer. at the end of the day, you would rather hit the deer than somebody else. next up on the countdown, our number 19 video, a stop-and-start car race and gayle's got this one. >> this is a rollover accident that has an ending that will have you cheering.

>> let's ask her owner, cj, who we have "right this minute" with jasmine. >> well, jasmine is a 5-year-old habanese, i started teaching her basic obedience, but she picked it up so quick, i had to thing of more things, so that's how i taught her trick training. she knows how to sneeze on command. >> she's a therapy dog. tell as you little bit what she does when she interacts with people? >> we go to the children's hospital here every week on fridays to volunteer. we go from room to room to talk to all the patients and she'll sit there while they pet him and talk to me and she'll do a little trick show for them to smile and make them laugh. >> have you been into dog training before? >> it just happened. i'm not a professional trainer, she's my first dog. we sort of learned as we went. >> what advice would you have for other dog owners who want to teach their dogs. >> you have to find out their motivation, toys, food, praise,

why did you buy my husband a falcon? thanks for the falcon. i didn't buy anyone a falcon. sure, you did. you saved us a lot of money on auto insurance. i used that money to buy a falcon. ergo, you bought me a falcon. i should've got a falcon. most people who switch to state farm save on average about $480. what they do with it, well, that's their business. oh, that explains a lot, actually. the guy thinks the hawk is dead. and the mechanic goes up. opens the hood, looks down and the hawk blinks at him and that's how he realized the hawk was alive. >> they were able to get it out and take it to the vet. who determined it probably had a light concussion and maybe some internal injuries but it was going to survive and it would fly again. that shot of the hawk stuck in the car -- blinking, that, wow. it's crazy, right? >> i'm glad it's got a happy ending. we're there. it is time to unveil the video that we all think is number one in our top 20 countdown. it's a video that no one around here could stop watching or stop talking about. it's another battle in the animal kingdom. this time, gecko versus snake. >> oh. >> or i should say i guess, two geckos versus snake.

two geckos hanging out, one is in some bad shape. it's got a snake wrapped around him. the snake is ready to suck the life out of him. but his gecko buddy is like hell not, son, not on my watch. >> he's like, should i do it? taking a deep breath. >> we grew up together. >> he's scoping out the situation. >> oh! >> what, his first attack, didn't work. he almost fell off the wall. the snake gets a tighter grip around his buddy. he's like, i can't watch my friend die. >> you better hurry this up, if you're going to pull off the rescue, come on, brother. >> the snake's like, forget this, i'm going after this guy who is messing with me. he tries to bite this gecko and the snake falls from the wall and the gecko stays. the one gecko definitely took the other gecko out for some beers after this because he saved his butt. >>.
