8:37 am
jury has begun their deliberations. we're not sure if the court will tell us if they have. we do know we will hear when they have come to a decision and we'll be given a warning. there are a lot of people that believe this jury will come back with a decision today. yet there are other people who do believe the opposite, the jury could take their time to ensure they get everything correct even though it's only one count of involuntary manslaughter. yesterday we had the closing arguments, both sides giving their final push to get jury to rule in their favor. the prosecutor coming out. hammering the defendant, hammering the defense, saying dr. murray is solely support for the death of michael jackson, the defense saying it's all just a tragic mistake and dr. murray is not responsible. take a listen. >> michael jackson trusted conrad murray. he trusted him with his life.
8:38 am
he paid with his life. >> you're going to hold dr. murray responsible, don't do it because it's michael jackson. this is not a reality show. it's reality. >> once again, those are the arguments yesterday from both sides. at left a little step in the. the judge had given them each 90 minutes to give closing arguments, both the prosecutor and the defense team went over that by at least a half hour. now you have on rather they have seen this jury 49 witnesses, well over 300 pieces of evidence, and they've had 23 days of arguments. today is the 24th day they've been in session. so they have a lot to go through having said that, depending on who you talk to, depends on whether or not you believe or they believe this jury could come back today with the verdict l that is guilty or not guilty. if conrad murray is convicted, of this charge, he could facing four years line bars and then there's the other question,
8:39 am
will he even ever serve time because of overcrowding in california prisons and jails? that's something they'll have to be determined if they is even found guilty. we'll keep you updated from the latest here at the courthouse in los angeles. adam housley, ktvu channel 2 news. >> see if the jackson family had showed up but we'll get those details later. >> they have been very add man about showing up every day. we want to check in again with sal on that friday morning commute. >> i'm finishing up typing this thing so i can show it to you here. my phone is ringing. i'm just doing a map here and i'll have it ready. we have some breaking news in san jose. a train has hit a pedestrian. let's go to had map. we found out a train has hut a pedestrian on the line heading up to -- station here in san jose. the train was capital corridor
