space that has been taken from us and we intend to camp and create a community here just like oakland and it looks like we are doing that and it was the first night and it is significant we are still here and our tents are still here and we have people sleeping here. >> it is an effort to fight against tuition hikes. they are calling for a statewide strike urging the public to stay at home that day. close to 40 people were arrested about members of the faculty as well and police are not saying what action could be taken as you can see people continue to sleep out, some in sleeping bags and a couple of people are setting up tents.

meantime, the future of the occupied santa rosa encampment will be talked about tonight. they are worried about crime they have made more than 2 dozen occupied arrests. there are also new concerns about crime, coming up at 6:15 on a newly opened ice skating rink. ronald bridge said he will surrender in a red wood city courtroom. he is accused of shooting at police in south san francisco. he is now a married college

counselor with two grown the children and wants to do the right thing. he is charged along with members of the black liberation army in the killing of a san francisco police officer in 1971. they are investigating a series of accidents involving pedestrians and tells us they were three in less than an hour. we are at the site of one of them and you can see the crosswalk and some of the remnants of the flares when police came to investigate. now police say a 67-year-old woman was walking across that crosswalk at 6 5:00 when -- 6:35 when she was hit by a vehicle. five minutes later, a man was working on tullely road and he was hit. five minutes after that, a 44-

year-old bicyclist was hit and also suffered life-threatening accidents. this whether two people killed versus all related accidents. certainly at this point, investigations are ongoing and police are trying to figure out what has happened and they don't believe alcohol or drugs were related. as far as the two others what they are guessing is it had something to do with the time change and they are asking people to be aware and to be very careful out on these streets. ktvu channel 2 news. ed lee shows he has passed the 50% threshold and lee has

two others are fighting for their lives and this morning police are asking everyone to be extra careful. we have moved to tullely road, obviously a busy intersection this morning. this was the site of one accident and there are two in this area just last night. a 60-year-old man was hit and several blocks away 44-year-old bicyclist was killed, a few minutes before those accidents rather, there was a fatal accident at jackson and we were there and saw remnants of flares in the crosswalk and spoke to a woman because she crosses that intersection up with day. two people were killed, police say it does not look like alcohol or drugs are involved, all were stopped at the scene

. welcome back to the morning news, a battle is brewing on the raid to oakland calm -- oakland camp. they are filing a public request from the october 25th incident but they have refused to hand over documents to name officers who approved the use of force and they are part of an ongoing investigation and there for unavailable. they are helping people stay warm during the winter months and members of the alliance ministry were out handing out hundreds of
