[ laughter ] >> good morningle. i'm claudine wong. developing news for you this morning. one person is in custody after a black friday shooting at walmart. kraig debro is live with aftermath pictures you will only see on 2 and a witness attack about what led up to the attack. >> reporter: good morning, claudine. we just spoke with the sergeant and he gave us new details about what happened. meanwhile, in this parking lot,

this investigation is very thorough, they are very meticulous about a they are doing, the -- about what they are doing. the victim 'clothes are still in the -- victim's clothes are still in the parking lot. we are finding out that this had noing to to with the sales -- nothing to do with the sales. this was an attempted robbery. we have pictures. we want to show you them. there was a person shot. we have exclusive pictures of that. police have not identified that person yet but they tell us they have one person in custody. it but they are looking for two others. >> we talked to a few people who said she saw two arguing in the story -- in the store. the detective i talked to said he has accounts from the witnesses that clear all of this up. he says that the victims had just left the store, that black friday promotion. >> the victims were standing by

their car talking when the suspects pulled up, kind of blocked their car in, got out of their car, approached them, asked for the items that they had. the victims weren't going to give those up a, a fight ensued. >> reporter: -- up, a fight ensued. >> reporter: -- >> reporter: a fight ensued. the suspect shot the victims. at that point, some of the victims held one of the suspects. another person got in the car. that car sped off. we did have another witness tell us, this was a red car in color. police have not put out that information just yet. they are getting more details on that. but that victim is in stable condition. we don't know much more than that or the victims age or name at this time. again, i will try to have another conversation with police to get more details. kraig debro, "mornings on 2". a walmart store is back

open after a thanksgiving day bomb square. police -- police evacuated the square. police evacuated the store and everybody was let back in after it was determined there was no threat. allie rasmus is live with more holiday shopping. >> reporter: at this point, we're seeing more shoppers come in than go out. it's going on almost seven hours after midnight. for every shopper you see with a bag walking out, you have to take into consideration the amount of time that person spent in line. we talked to the manager of one store who says they've invented a game it play with their customers while they are waiting in line. >> let the customers answer quirky questions. do have you a frash light --

why there could be an extra tax on your purchase. new this morning, we are getting a promising new look at intergiant -- injured bryan stow. last week, one of stow's friends told us that he can now push himself in his wheelchair. stow is fighting to recover from a massive brain injury that he suffered during an attack outside of dodger stadium back in march. a crucial report on the 2013 america's cup yacht race is set to take place in san francisco. it will soon be released. "the examiner" reports that the final environment impact report will be published next week before going to the city's planning commission for certification. race organizers are said to be eagerly awaiting this report. opponents could file a lawsuit. now that thanksgiving is over, walnut creek is focusing

on christmas. the city's holiday tree are will be lit tonight at 6:00. there will be music, free candy canes and santa will make a special appearance at the event. there will be a tree- lighting ceremony in downtown san jose. the christmas in the park event kicks off at 5:30. it will be held at the plaza de chavez park. the event had been in danger of going forward because of budgets but donations are keeping it going. if you are heading to p b.a.r.t. to shop, tara has the schedule. >> that's right. b.a.r.t. is operating on a sunday schedule. we do have problems with muni this morning that we want to mention. there's some video that we got in from earlier this morning.

since 5:00, muni was shut down because of an accident. a strain struck a person walking on the tracks underground between the montgomery and embarcadero stations. now, witnesses say he tried to move out of the way but he was clipped and he did receive life- threatening injuries. bus shuttle -- bus shuttles have been getting people around but should be in service. let's take a like look at the macarthur maze. traffic is flowing nicely. 7:09. here's steve. thank you, tara. we have mostly sunny skies. had the rain yesterday for some. it was over in the morning, for others, in the valley, it lased a little bit longer. we had a -- lasted a little bit longer. we had a little system. it looks like it's done. it looks like that's it for this month unless the forecast models throw us a curve but

they are all in sync saying, no. it will be very warm for us. in fact, temperatures are starting to warm up. tomorrow we'll get mid-60s. the theme will be the next -- will be in the 60s the next four or five days. 40s and 50s struck through the cloud cover. that look like rain. high pressure is gonna build in and stick around for a while. that means temperatures will be going up. some light rain, it looks like it's about done. i think it will be a bigger story tomorrow and as we go into the weekend, if we don't get the fog, temperatures will warm up. today, 50s and 60s. a lot of low 60s. doesn't make much of a difference. doesn't matter where you are, everyone will be close to 60, 61, 62. upper 50s for some. low 60s for others, including

good morning. by had some light rain. it looks like it's all gone. if you are heading to the tree lighting ceremony, it will be a little chilly. we should be under clear skies. partly cloudy skies, 50s and 60s but it looks like we're done with the rain for a while. the recovery efforts continue today following that fiery plane crash in arizona.

three adults an three children were killed when that plane crashed wednesday night. the pilot had just picked up his children to celebrate thanksgiving. police say they are doing everything possible to console the victims' families. >> these families are just obviously, heartbroken, traumatized over the loss of their loved one. so -- it was so sudden and on thanksgiving. >> one of the tree children killed was autistic and the colt pilot was soon to be married. authorities say the recovery effort is extremery difficult because of the rough terrain. they also say there's no plane in distress. airlines are scrambling to provide emergency oxygen in the bathrooms. earlier this year, the faa secretly ordered all airplanes to remove oxygen systems from the bathroom because of a security vulnerability. "usa today" is reporting it could be more than two years for a substitute system to be

in place. emergency oxygen masks in cabins are not affected by this. mexico is now acknowledging a second mayan reference that the world is going to end december of 2012. the country's archaeology institute says a second reference to the apocalyptic date exists on the ruins site. the institute says this is very real. they say that the idea this date means the world will end is a misinterpretation. the 3.7 magnitude quake shook central oklahoma about ten miles south of sparks and about 45 miles east of oklahoma city. emergency officials say it did not cause any damage. earlier this month, a 5.6 magnitude quake damaged more than 40 homes in that same area. a thanksgiving day fire damaged one home in newark. firefighters were called to the scene yesterday afternoon. now, neighbors tried to fight the fire with a garden hose but they couldn't do it.

two people were at the scene were treated for minor smoke inhalation. firefighters say it looks like the fire began in the bedroom but they are not sure of the exact cause. sonoma county is updating the public on a controversial new policy allowing consulate cards from mexico as valid identification. now, they say the county has not noticed an increase in crime since announcing the policy a month ago. critics say this could get more drivers without licenses driving. 7:16. a safeway security guard is looking for a new job after busing a 4-year-old girl -- busting a 4-year-old girl for shoplifting. the girl was with her grocery store with her dad on wednesday. she apparently dried a package of dry fruit, eight some and put -- ate some and put it on

59 billion. that's a 15% increase from last year. many retailers who sell online and are out of state don't collect the tax and they don't tell the buyers that they may owe that state tax. the state legislature requires collection of the taxes. but it doesn't go in effect until then and until then you, the buyer, are responsibilityible. at noon, james durbin will perform in front of the 40-foot christmas tree. then tonight at 7:00, another performer and then durbin will be kicking off the one warm coat as well. other performances include carolers. voters in sonoma county will have to decide about a tax

on the libraries. county supervisors agreed to place a 16-year extension of the tax on the june ballot. the sales tax revenue represents 5.2 million in funding this fiscal year. california lawmakers are getting ready to turn in their state-owned cars. originally the state planned on giving lawmakers a $300 a month transportation allowance. but the los angeles times reports that lawmakers can get that allowance because the commission that approved this overstepped their authority. lawmakers will be getting 55 cent as mile reimbursement to use their personal cars. the auto show in san francisco is nearing the end of the road. the 2012 models from 38 manufacturers are on display at moscone center. the show runs until sunday. the show is also showcasing alternate fuel and vehicles. there's even a simulator where you can test-drive. doors open at 10:00.

a hiker is safe this morning. officials say he was hiking in the an je less forest and he got tired. that's when rescuers were called in and a search light was used to locate that man. a proposed surcharge on plastic shopping bags in alameda county is moving forward. two meeting on the surcharge are planned for next month under the proposal, alameda county shoppers would pay 10 cents per plastic bag.

now, the county waste authority hopes the surcharge will lead more shoppers to use reusable bags. a group using the flags is -- bags is threatening to sue the county if the changes are put in place. there are changes put in place for b.a.r.t. they plan to run longer trains throughout the day. they plan on running longer trains on sunday from the oak and san francisco airports for all of those rushing home from their holiday trips. 7:23. let's head out to tara moriarty, in for sale, talking about possible delays in daly city. wewe have a darr accident in daly city. it's not 0 -- it's not on the freeway. it's just off 280 if we can take live pictures. this looks like this car that hit the pole is an injury

accident. i would recommend using alimany. it's kind of a nightmare to try to get onto 2 0 headed in the southbound direction. i would just go up to alamany and take that on the freeway if you need to at this hour. as you can see, a car went right into a light pole there. they are trying to vet the scene, clean -- investigate the scene, clean it up. we have a look at muni. we have problems in san francisco. if you need to cake the k, l, or m train, you can take the train and transfer. all of these delays due to a train striking a pedestrian, somebody walking on the tracks underground between the montgomery and embarcadero stations around 5:00. bus shuttles are trying to get people around. everything should be back to normal 9:00 this morning. we're going to head to the desk. >> you're not gonna talk to me,

tara? gee! i feel sleighted! we will have mostly cloudy skies. we had some light rain. it's gonna clear out. temperatures in the 40s. we're right about at 50. there is gonna be a lot of fog here in the next couple of days especially out to the valley. today is the transition day from some rain to no rain and warmer temperatures if you don't have the fog as we go forward. upper 40s, low 50s. san jose is at 46. there's our little system, maybe you slept through it but there was light rain. that's it. it's washed out and gone. some patchy fog out towards the east. partly sunny, partly cloudy. temperatures will be in the upper 50s and low 60s but they only start a warmup, especially as we head into the weekend. in fact, if anything, be -- if anything, we could be near 70 degrees by sunday into monday. the fog in the valley could be very, very tough. 7:25 is the time right now. an investigation accident -- continues in sebastopol after a call for help to 911 leads to a deadly shooting. and a robbery gone bad.

we have developing news. crime scene tape is blocking off a section of the walmart parking lot on hesperian boulevard. kraig debro is live outside that store right now where police say the victim's car has now been found. kraig? >> reporter: good morning, claudine. we found the victim's car and police have told us new details about exactly what happened. take a look behind me. you see the officer dusting the back of that red car. that's a red volvo. that's the victim's car. this all started around 1:50 this morning. police say the men of the same family, perhaps, they were just friends, came oust walmart with their merchandise -- out of the walmart with their merchandise. they got out of the car, they were standing outside the car, when another car pulled in behind that vole vole and blocked them in. one or more men got out of the car and asked the men to hand over the merchandise. the men refused. one of the suspects then pulled out a gun. >> one of the suspects pulled out a gun, shot one of the

victims. at that point, they started to flee. a couple of victims that were there grabbed one of the suspects and were able to detain him until the police arrived. >> reporter: now, the victim was take ton a local hospital. we're told he's in stable condition. police are looking for two more suspects. i want to show you this picture if you come back out here live here. see the clothes there in the middle of the street? there's the car -- there's some people trying to get to their cars. you see the red car in the left there? that's the victim's car? well, see the clothes in the center of the driveway there? that's the victim's clothes. what happened after the shooting, both the victim who was shot, and one or more of the people he was with ran after the shock. so the guy who was shot was one of the people who ran after the suspects and got the one suspect that tried to run and police are looking for two other outstanding suspects at this point. reporting live in san leandro, kraig debro, ktvu channel 2 news. black friday violence also

erupted at a walmart store in los angeles. police this morning are searching for a woman who used pepper spray on fellow shoppers. that attack happened just before 10:30 last night. investigators believe the woman armed herself with a spray to try to gang advantage. 20 customers include -- including kids were injured. despite the black friday violence in san leandro and in southern california, most shoppers are calm this morning. lorraine blanco is out with some of those shoppers at the sun valley mall in concord and some of the deals that the shoppers are looking for. what are they looking for, lorraine? >> reporter: good morning. there are amazing deals. you won't believe this. you can can get things for just $5 at h & m. we'll tell you about that in a minute. check out the line. it's been like this before 5:00 a.m. before 5:00 a.m., they had a lot of people waiting outside. you can see it's pretty crazy

see. not a lot of people on the roadways. let's check in with steve. we do have partly cloudy skies. had some very light rain this morning. if there's any left over it's just a little bit. this may be it for a while unless our forecast models, you know -- had a little bit too much on thanksgiving but they are all saying it's gonna be dry and warmer as we head into the weekend and early next week as well. not much left. pretty good rain especially on the north coast, men mendocino valley on the valley. overall, we're saying goodbye to this little wet pattern here that we had and that's gonna be it. as we go into the weekend, the temperatures will start to warm up. there's no sign of anything until next weekend. 50s and 60s for forecasted highs today but tomorrow we'll bump these up. san jose one of the forecasts and 68 might be a little too high too fast. it will be in the mid-60s for most of tomorrow unless you get

the toole fog -- tule fog. no rain, 40s and 50s. pattern, high pressure is gonna build in, kick everything to the north and really just kind of be a stable pattern. jet stream will stay to the north for a while and thick fog will be a big story. once that sets up, once you get wind to rain, it really doesn't move. 60s and 70s. and a dry pattern into the weekend. partly sunny, partly cloudy. very light rain. 50s, on the temperatures, upper 50s or very low 60s. same for conned for, pleasant hill, walnut creek, even brentwood, oakley to livermore. los gatos, morgan hill, gilroy even san jose in there. fremont at 61. san mateo redwood shores. millbrae, san bruno, all at around 60s. temperatures will start to warm up here. mid-60s upper 60s by sunday, maybe even 70 degrees. and it will stay that way early

all right. the dow is up 95 points this morning. but the markets are really mixed. if things don't go well today, we could be looking at our worse week since september. trading will end earlier today on black friday. markets close at 10:00 a.m. this morning, our time. europe's debt crisis is helping push the price of oil down this morning. at last check, oil was trading just under $97. last week a price for a barrel of oil was at $103. analysts expect less demand for oil as austerity measures taken in europe damage global network. french's president and angela merkel proposed changes yesterday during a meeting in straussberg. mario monti also took part in the meeting. the merger between at&t and t-mobile could be collapsing. the carriers announced that they are withdrawalling their requests to the fcc to join

operations but they also say it's temporary until they can win clearance from the justice department. in august, the justice department blocked the $39 billion transaction, citing anti-trust violation. 'tis the season for holiday jobs and thousands thousands are trying to cash in. according to the national retail federation. stores are hiring about $500,000 for the season but there's a lot of competition for those jobs. more than 13 million people are said to be looking for part or full-time work. well, guess what. you can watch disney movies on demand through houston. the video website is adding film rentals from disney, pixar. popular movies include "cars ii" and "the pirates of the caribbean." cost, $1 to $2. now houston began offering movie rentals this year from other major studios. about 100,000 egyptians are

good morning. thank you for joining us hire on "mornings on 2." i'm -- here on "mornings on 2". >> i'm pam cook. >> i'm claudine wong. dave and tori have the day off. we have new information coming in regard everything the black friday shooting in san leandro. in the past hour we showed you police dusting for fingerprints on the victim's car. now, kraig debro is at the walmart on hesperian boulevard where witnesses say they could see the violence brewing. kraig? >> reporter: good morning, pam. more than six hours after this happened. you can see police are out here in the middle of the main driveway at this walmart on his tearian and san leandro. they are picking up the victim's clothes right now and putting them in a box. the victim fell there. the paramedics treated him there. this happened around 1:50 in the morning, according to police, three members of a -- three members of a family, probably more than that, four or five are coming out of the

walmart. >> and when they got out of the store and they got to the car, they were hanging out outside of their car. while they were doing that, another car walks up, blocks their car in. two men get out of the car, demand they handover the -- hand over the items. they don't hand over the goods and that's when one of the suspects pulled out the gun. >> one of the suspects pulled out a gun, shot one of the victims. at that point, they started to flee. a couple of victims that were there grabbed one of the suspects and were able to detain him until the police arrived. >> reporter: so what he -- he says one of the victims grabbed one of the suspect, the victim who was shot and at least one other person shaysed -- chased down the suspect who didn't get in the car. they grabbed this guy. they told him for police. police are looking for two other peel. police have interviewing the suspect, they also have video

up the investigation. this all happened at 1:15 this morning. three or four males were coming out of a store -- out of the store and when they got to the car, the red volvo, they kind of hung out at the car. while they were doing that, another car pulled out. blocked their car in, at least two men got out of that car and demanded those men hand over the merchandise. they did not. in fact, they fought with the suspects. one of the men pulled a gun and shot one of the victims. that man and at least one other person ran after the suspects who tried to run away and tackled him. a witness we talked to said that the shooter got into a red car and that car took off. >> there is a car -- we're looking at the car right now, we can't identify clearly what type of car it is. we believe the detective is still looking at the video to determine what type of car it is if, we can even do that. >> reporter: the shooting victim and another member of

the family friend -- held that suspect. police have him at police headquarters and are questioning him now. police say they have surveillance videotape from the walmart and they are using that in that investigation. m the -- in the meantime, the person shot is said to be in stable condition. we don't know much more than that -- other than that. i did send and e-mail by this newscast. reporting live in san leandro, kraig debro, ktvu channel 2 news. gun violence is not new to that walmart parking lot. last march, a 25-year-old was shot in the neck and suffered a broken jaw, when officers arrived at the store, the victim was gone. he was later troped off at a local emergency room and a 47- year-old pill meet tis man was arrested in connection to that shooting. well, black friday violence also erupted at a walmart store in los angeles. police this morning are searching for a woman who squirted pepper spray at fellow
