guard is still searching the ocean waters near half-moon bay for a missing paddle border. it happened on the san mateo coast. they identified the missing man in his 30s as rodriguez ruiz. the coast guard is using both a helicopter and motor boat in this morning's search. in overnight news, the midnight deadline with occupied l.a. to leave their encampment has passed but those protesters are still there. we want to show you protesters outside city hall and hundreds of supporters have also showed up to the scene. >> we don't have a timeline and if we don't discuss when we will make our tactical moves we

will be publishing a timeline. >> los angeles mayor announced a deadline saying the encampment needs to close because of public health and safety. protesters with occupied oakland are trying to retake ogawa plaza. it was two weeks ago where police arrested many people after not complying with the order. they will hold a 24 hour seven day a week vigil in frank ogawa plaza and the city says camping will not be allowed in the plaza. they are calling or students and faculty to protest relation generals -- relation gents and however they will also gather at merced campuses.

school football field. the father of three children was shot and killed 11 days ago while chasing a suspected robber. he is the 4th officer killed in the line of duty in the city's 105 year history. >> meanwhile the man accused of killing him is due back in court this afternoon. lawyers for henry albert smith will ask a judge to bar cameras from the courtroom in this case. police arrested him just hours after the officer's fatal shooting. time now 5:45 they are still searching for the man who also -- the firefighter who also served as a marine. take a look at 11th and gary. it shows the driver who hit him outside near a nearby shell gas station. it is believed the driver left the scene. witnesses say the suspect got into a fight at the jack in the

on for the first time this season. they now require all california homes have carbon-monoxide detectors. a flight was forced to make an emergency landing after the pilot noticed smoke in the cockpit. they landed safely in buffalo and the 173 passengers on board were taken off the plane and another flight was taken in to continue that flight to san francisco. they are now expected to figure out what happened. as we showed you earlier fog has settled in on the bay area and we are keeping an eye on the airports as people head home for the thanksgiving holiday. bay area fog and bad weather was causing some delays. one traveler we spoke to was waiting for them to arrive turns out she would be stuck in new york for another six hours. >> you never know what can happen. you just have to be patient.
