"mornings on 2" starts right now. well, good morning to you. i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. it's monday, november 2th. we begin with an important warning from the chp. dense fog has created a dangerous commute. we have team coverage. steve's in the weather center. tara is monitoring weather problems. we begin with paul chambers. what's the fog like now? >> reporter: about a half-hour ago you could barely see anything in front of us. there's nothing out there in the distance. -- there's fog out there in the distance. let's swing out to 880. the fog is basically clear in

this area. national weather service has issued a dense fog advisory until 9:00 this morning. here's a look at the toll plaza where drivers are hitting up the advisoriry conditions. the advisory is for the bridges. the fog was heavy at times while we were in -- reporting from san ramon in morning. now, fog advisories were issued for san mateo county, with a heavy fog alert near 0 near edgewood in redwood city. the chp says the visibility was there, about 10, 15. the fog is rolling in and rolling out in some areas. it might have changed in those spots.

scheduled to hold their meeting. the resents will be connected -- regents will be connected to ucsf and other universities. you can see a lot of those barry dades set up outside of -- barricades set up outside. the occupy prompt is among the groups calling for protests against the regents. this morning, the coast guard is busy still searching for a missing paddleboarder. the searching started yesterday. the missing man is rodrigo ruiz. he's in his 30s. he never came pack to shore after paddling out to the ocean alone yesterday.

demolition work is -- work is about to begin on a building that's in danger of collapsing. allie rasmus is joining us live after talking with officials. in fact, she'll be back in a little bit on the latest on what the crews will be doing and how long the work will be taking. volunteers now providing security for a church in antioch. the church has been targeted by copper thieves four times this year. the thieves have stripped hundreds of yards of copper fire from saint ignacios. pack in september, about three dozen men volunteered to patrol the grounds from midnight until dawn. the church raised about $47,000 to install a fence around the company by christmas. police are searching for a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman on the deanza trail. the woman said she wassic walk -- said she was walking on the trail saturday afternoon, when a man grabbed her from behind,

reached for her skirt and ran away. the man was hispanic, 6 feet tall an curly black hair and pimples on his cheek. the power is now back on for hundreds of customers in milpitas. the outage knocked out to about 1200 customers. drews were on the scene -- crews were on the scene overnight. a building may be in danger of collapsing. again, allie rasmus is out there right now. what are the crews doing now or what are they about to do? >> well, in the last 30 minutes or so, we have seen some of the demolition out here. you see the construction road in the middle of telegraph? it's a big cater pillar parked there. it has an arm that connection

tend. that thing is culled a -- called a muncher. here's how he explained it. >> then we set it you and we start with whatever spot we would like to do and we start crunching the building. that will british it safe and we crunch evenly because you have to protect the wall. >> reporter: the entire building was heavily damaged in a fire that happened here on move 18th. this is the sequoia apartment building. the building is -- the building is 96 years old and 6 people who lived in this apartment building were displaced. no one was hurt but the cause of the fire is still under investigation. that's one of the reasons why a group of tenants don't want this building -- building demolished just yet. the tenants are saying hear are issues with the building that

about 100 miles east of los angeles. the truck the bol was in rolled over, trapping the woman underneath. she's expected to survive but one person is dead after this accident. the cause of the rollover is still being investigated. 7:23. good news this morning if you are a woman who drinks coffee. a new harvard study found that women who drink four or more cups of coffee a day reduce their chance of endometrial cancer. the studies in the past have shown that coffee lowers insulin and estrogen levels. high levels of knows hormones have been connected to this cancer. the researchers point this out -- if you use cream and sugar in your coffee, you actually cancel out the coffee effects.

she's breathing. she's conscious. >> this group of bystanders are credited with pulling a woman to safety after this crash. she was pinned by a car. this happened yesterday on interstate 10, about 100 miles just east of los angeles. the truck the woman was in rolled over and trapped her beneath it. we're told she's expected to survive but one other person, though, has died after this. the cause of the rollover is still under investigation. :56. san francisco police are still searching for the driver accused of running down a firefighter who is a former marine. this is surveillance video from thanksgiving night at a jack in the box restaurant on 11th and geary. investigators say it shows the driver who hit 29-year-old al bartal outside a shell gas station. it's believed the driver then fled the scene. investigators say the suspect and bartal got into a fight at the jack-in-the-box, leading up to the hit-and-run. bartal is now in critical condition. >> fantastic guy, very diligent and ma tick cue lus, attention
