. sunny mild great visibility here is sal. we are looking at i bay bridge and as steve has mentioned, we don't have any fog this morning unlike yesterday it was tough to see and traffic is moving well. westbound interstate 880, that traffic is moving well getting out to the mcarthur maze and 280, that traffic looks good, let's go back to the desk. as steve mentioned, much of the bay area is under a high win advisory. claudine wong joins us from san leandro where the winds have downed some power lines and what is going on, claudine? >> reporter: you can see they

are hard at work trying to put some replacement wires up and it will take awhile for them to get power back to the building you are looking at. take a look at that damage. this is all being blamed on wind. wind knocked down the power lines and sparked a fire. the flames were actually coming out of this vacant building and 164th avenue. alameda firefighters responded to the scene last night and there were reports there were two wires down in the middle of the road and again they were saying those wires came down from wind and once it came down it sparked this fire. >> we had livener guyed lines -- live, energized lines, and sparked the fire. >> reporter: nobody was hurt. there is a sign out side the

building for lease and you can see the work continues at this hour several hours after this fire they were replacing wires and they had the cherry picker up, again they will be out here for another 40 minutes and they will get this cleared up before traffic starts moving through here this morning. i spoke to the supervisor and he said it is off to the next spot, paint page is trying to get -- pg&e is trying to get power restored to all the areas that are down. claudine wong ktvu channel 2 news. in oakland a tree came crashing down to some power lines and a parked struck, police responded while pg&e made repairs it no reports of any injuries but a high wind warning remains in effect for

the bay east hills. high winds have knocked out power to tens of thousands of people. 27,000 people are without power in the santa cruz mountains. 160 people are in the dark and 1200 customers are affected. south bay has 180 and 145 people without power. san francisco no outages at this point. they do have extra crews at work and they do have power restored but one that could have extended outages. and a home in san leandro has prompted an investigation by investigators. firefighters were called to the home and they say the fire started in the home's basement but was quickly knocked out by

firefighters. the chief said it was illegal wiring that sparked the fire. >> illegal wiring due to a marijuana grow operation that was the cause of the fire... >> nobody was hurt in the incident and it's unclear if the homeowners were present when that fire started. a search is underway for a man in marin county who police say tried to kidnap a young girl. it happened at 7:00 last night. he went up to a group of young girls and grabbed an 11-year- old by the shirt. she screamed and managed to fight him off. he is described as awhile man in his 40s, he is 5-foot 6, wearing along brown correct roy -- cord roy coat. the parents of a young by
