raider nation. the owner of ricky's sports theater in san leandro a popular hang out for raider fans says nation's should have known better. >> i think it's part of business. don't take it personal it's just business and that's exactly what it is. they have a big investment. in these days you have to watch what you do. >> reporter: the raiders said they tried to work things out with nations without a lawsuit, but that didn't happen. now the team is looking to take a bite out of nation's bottom line asking for compensation from the courts. nation's customer ron maken thinks the raiders should keep their focus on the field. >> i think the raiders have other problems to think about. how about the packers on sunday? >> reporter: and the raiders spokesperson told us earlier today that the team and the nfl are both involved in this particular lawsuit. i also earlier tonight did put a call to nation's headquarters in el cerrito looking for a comment but did not hear back.

the first group falters, the oakland city attorney will have to decide whether there could be two recall drives at the same time. continuing coverage of the occupy movements next big move. on monday they plan to shut down all west coast ports. today in oak land, port officials planned their response. ktvu's jana katsuyama live tonight in oakland to describe how this plan blockade is causing division amongst port workers. >> reporter: tonight i got a copy of this letter for the port union. it was a massive turn out last month. thousands of occupy protesters in oakland shutting down the nation's fifth busiest port for more than six hours. tonight as another occupy protest looms on monday, port workers are divided. >> i will be with them all the way but if they do it in a peaceful way. >> reporter: but there are others who say any shut down

teach in. >> we think the port should put people first before profit just how we think our government and corporations should. >> reporter: the occupy movement plans to blockade seven ports in the west coast as well as vancouver in canada. jana katsuyama, ktvu channel 2 news. if you wish to leave, you have five minutes. that's how long police gave occupy campers at santa cruz's san lorenzo park to gather their belongings. police cleared out 20 tents and dozensover campers from the park this morning -- dozens of campers from the park this morning. in san francisco, police stopped demonstrators from reaccomplishing their camp at dustin herman plaza. the mayor's office told ktvu the situation remained orderly despite a few occupiers who tried to pitch tents early this morning. others took their belongings a block away to the federal reserve bank where they've

stayed all day. a federal appeals court heard arguments today involving two arguments about the same- sex case. a lower court has already rejected the argument. our ktvu reporter in court today said the appeals panel did not seem impressed. the court also heard a petition to unseal video on the unconstitutionality of the ban. no decisions were announced today. b.a.r.t. officials today announced an arrest in connection with a series of recent cooper wire thefts. b.a.r.t. police showed off sections of wire and wire cutters they say they found this morning in the san francisco home of 52-year- old dennis mcgeary. b.a.r.t. says there has been at least three cooper wire thefts this year causing the industry $90,000. >> this is an ongoing problem. it's not new, it's a serious problem and we're glad to have

people but so far no arrests. san francisco police say they are investigating two sexual assaults along the mission district corridor. both were assaulted while walking, the attacker also robbed the women. a single mom in contra costa county says someone broke into her car and stole several hundred dollars worth of christmas presents. as ktvu's john sasaki found out today, auto burglaries and the holidays often go hand in hand. >> reporter: kerry mathis has had a rough week. >> i don't know if i'm going to get in here you guys. >> reporter: yesterday she discovered someone had broken into her trunk and stole all the gifts she had bought. >> it takes a minute for it to register but then you're like,

facebook likes its new menlo park campus. but expansion plans are creating traffic concerns and unfriendly reaction. facebook started moving employees into its menlo park into its new campus but facebook already wants to change its status. it bails down to traffic. >> reporter: it's apparent that facebook likes this location. but do neighbors want to friend the giant social networking company? >> reporter: facebook's menlo park headquarters is at an already jammed traffic spot

because of the menlo bridge. now facebook is asking the city for permission to expand this workplace to accommodate 9,400 workers. >> t going to be really tied up. it'll back up everything. it's going to cause people to be late for work, school. >> reporter: but some residents in the near by bell haven neighborhood say benefits outweigh the inconveniences. >> it's going to bring more jobs and stuff like that for the community. >> reporter: tonight the community had a chance to comment on the one of many changes about the facebook plans. the report says in a worse case scenario, the facebook campus could result in clogged streets and quote substantial permanent ambient noise level increase. facebook says it is able to

keep the number of vehicles in and out to 2,500 in the morning and 2,500 in the evening. an environmental study is due next year. for now, people can always have their say on facebook. b.a.r.t. could be coming to san jose. the bta approved funds for the first phase of the project and it could be finished 18 months ahead of schedule. planning and complex work to secure local and state funding work on the first 10 miles of track will begin in february. this extension will link the station to the north bay. the line could be complete as early as 2015.

at a parking lot near by. the wife of former penn state assistant jerry sandusky says her husband is innocent of all charges. dorothy sandusky released a statement today saying she is devastated bid the accusations which she says are false. mrs.sandusky denied allegations from one accuser that she ignored his screams while he was allegedly molested in the sandusky family basement. only on two, a 12-year-old boy goes door to door in contra costa county asking his neighbors to join his efforts to help others this holiday season. amber lee is live now in danville where one warm coat has turned into thousands, amber. >> reporter: julie we're inside this storage unit where donated coats are being held while they're turned over to one warm coat. tonight we met a young boy who

students and faculty of a bay area high school are mourning the death of a football star. fred thompson was a defensive tackle at his first year at morgan state when he collapsed suddenly on wednesday. >> reporter: by all accounts fred thompson was a hero both

on the football field and off. investigators believe thompson died while playing basketball with friends. >> everybody liked fred. that's the best way to say it. big old guy, fun, great smile. >> reporter: by this morning friends had already posted video tributes to thompson on you taoáub. students at oakland technical high school say they are still shocked by thompson's sudden death. >> nobody can be like fred. ever. nobody. >> reporter: high school senior muhammad played football alongside thompson at tech. >> he will always be there for you. a will the of people take it as a big brother. fred was always there to help you. >> reporter: faculty members at tech remember thompson as a hard worker. they say at first his sat scores were not strong enough for college, but he came in on his own time to meet with tutors and stood up as an

economic model for his peers. >> he made that choice to man up, take the lead and carry a lot of other you know student athletes as well as students around the community on his back. >> fred is a perfect example of one of those kids that beat the odds. you know he beat the odds. he was beating the odds. he was going to the next level. tonight thompson's family is in oregon, funeral a rrangements are pending. gasia mikaelian. federal prosecutors filed papers late tonight calling on a judge to send barry bonds to prison. the they want bonds sentenced to 15 months in prison for his conviction of obstruction of justice involving a sports doping investigation. sentencing is set for a week from today. bonds defense lawyers are asking that he get probation and possibly home confinement. if authorities have their way, a group of suspected gang

members will spend the night behind bars. five suspects remain at large. the raids are part of a seven month investigation into what gilroy police say is one of the most active gangs in the community. california governor jerry brown is warning voters that there will be consequences if they reject his proposed ballot measure to raise taxes. in a tweet issued by brown's office the governor said if tacks don't pass there will be a hole that will trigger further cuts. the governor's plan would raise income taxes on the wealthy and boost the states sales tax by a half percent. if the governor's plan gets enough votes, it will go into effect next month. times are tough, the new report that confirms just how much wealth has been lost in recent months. ♪

home had just been finished and was unoccupied. sonoma county firefighters say a suspicious explosion in the kitchen may have caused the fire there. there were no reports of injuries. a suspected gunman in that black friday shooting outside a san leandro wal-mart is now behind bars. our cameras were outside on 106th avenue when 21-year-old watson surrendered after a six hour stand off with police this morning. watson's sister says her brother is a good man. >> my brother ain't had a chance to tell his side of the story. you know what i'm saying. it's just everybody and what they're saying. >> reporter: a 21-year-old man was wounded in the wal-mart parking lot after refusing to hand over electronics in the botched early morning robbery. police are looking for two other men believed to have been involved in that shooting. a fourth man was tackled by the victim's cousins and arrested at the scene of the crime. good samaritans are being praised for saving the life of a disabled man in utah.

the 67-year-old was crossing the street in salt lake city when a man on an suv ran him over. witnesses seeing the accident pulled him from under the psych. -- under the vehicle. in news of the world tonight, in iran national tv showed video of what it says is the highly sophisticated u.s. drone that iran claimed it brought down on sunday and it appeared to be intact. the pentagon said it would not comment on the video. there are fears iran could uncover the drone's stealth technology and possibly sell or give it to china and russia. in pakistan militants set

police in the north bay found a teenager that may have been kidnapped. she left a voice mail on a family members phone saying she was being held hostage by several men. the teenager was last seen driving a navy blue 1999 oldsmobile mini van. a story you will see only on two. san francisco fire boats are part of the city's rich history fighting fire from the bay since the late 1800s. david stevenson tells us the building that houses the fire boats may become history
