up highway 17, that traffic is moving nicely getting up to highway 17, let's go back to the desk. ktvu channel 2 news' tara moriarty joins us from the scene with information about the people who live there, tara? >> reporter: we are here a block or two away from where this fire broke out and we can see a couple of ambulances and some emergency crews and we have been trying to gather some information about what happened. the fires started at a scene your apartment complex off madden avenue at quarter to 2:00 this morning and that call came in and within 12 minutes it went to a second alarm and a few minutes after that a third alarm was called. one person suffered burns to their feet. we spoke it a police officer at

the scene and he tells me 20 - 30 people have been displaced by the fire so we will get in there and talk to some firefighters and find out more information and bring it to you as it becomes available to us. a fire in san francisco started shortly after 1:00 a.m. at an apartment house in chinatown. one man was taken to the hospital for burns and smoke inhalation. his condition is not known at this point. the fire forced more than 50 people out of their homes and investigators are still looking for the cause. just hours ago, a fire bug may have struck again in the north bay. it is the latest in a string of suspicious fires over the weekend. in novato where firefighters are struggling to keep up, allie rasmus is there, allie?

>> reporter: firefighters had to hike over this hill to get to the fire and i will show you what it looks like over this hillside. according to firefighters it has burned about three quarters of an acre and it has not threatened any homes or structures. they say they will let the fire burn itself out. in novato, investigators and police have spent the last hour chasing a fire bug and it's set in the neighborhood of sea scape and redwood boulevard. here is a map of those locations, most of them are small and didn't cause any serious damage. most of those fires were 20 feet away from homes and given the atmosphere, it could have caused some problems. until 3:00 a.m., firefighters

coming years. san francisco police are looking for suspects in two separate shootings with in 5 hours. the first happened at 2:00 in the city's bay view district. one man is in critical condition after a suspected gang related shooting. one 12-year-old boy suffered minor injuries because of flying glass. it is still not clear what happened. one man was shot in the arm while walking into a liquor store but he is expected to survive. it happened at downtown nightclub sunday morning during a "c" d release party for a -- at a cd release party for a local wrap artist, it throat a street ball and one officer --
