complete bay area news coverage starts right now. this is ktvu channel 2 news. instead of being in front of a class, a bay area teacher is behind bars accused of having sex with a student and she was arrested on campus. the alleged sexual relationship between a livermore student and a 14-year-old student has shocked the community. ktvu's kraig debro joins us

outside the high school with more details. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon. e-mails are going out to parents this afternoon. also new information on the investigation. detectives pulled an all- nighter and arrested the teacher, a popular math teacher right here in the parking lot. police say 40-year-old marie johnson was cuffed as she exited her car on her way to her job at granada high school yesterday. >> when she saw us and the suits were there, the detectives, i think she realized what was going on. >> reporter: the victim was a boy who was 14 years old at the time. the unidentified student was in johnson's class but wasn't at the time of the arrest. >> my daughter, she feels horrible because she says she is really nice with everybody. >> reporter: johnson is facing 24 counts of having oral sex and intercourse with a boy under the age of 14.

she is in jail with a bond placed at $1.8 million. most of the sexual contact, police say, took place in johnson's car. >> we have a crisis team. we can give support for our employee: the victim may need most of the help. a juvenile male who has sex with an older woman is not thought of as a victim. they are called names people say, you are not a victim. that the brutal battle for the victim. >> johnson is married and high a high school aim kid herself. she was working at the school a couple of years ago with two other 14-year-old boys who are at the school were allegedly victim of a sex crime performed by an older woman. >> thank you, kraig. san francisco police are investigating the city's first homicide of the year. officers found a man in his 30s

with a stag r stab wound to his chest around 2:30 a.m. the man was rushed sphroon general hospital where he was pronounced dead, 40 minutes later. if you have any information on the case, you are urged to call police a two-alarm fire did a quarter million dollars in damage at a home in san jose early this morning. the fire started around 3:30 in the attic of a house on green leaf lane east of the capitol expressway and south of aborn road. the people who live there were not home at the time and no one was injured. it took firefighters about two hours to put it out. there is no word on the cause. excitement is growing for the 49ers' first playoff game in nearly a decade. this is not just good news for the team and their finance, but it's also great news for businesses around the city.

the dry weather pattern sticks around for the second week in a row and even into next week. even today. more sunshine, the dry weather pattern is here to stay and high pressure remains in firm command of our weather. by sunday, we'll bring in a few extra clouds, and also a dropoff in temperatures but that will be the change for at least the second half of the weekend. here is the bigger change developing as we head into next week. we will bump up rain chances by the 19th, 20th and 21st, all just a chance right now but we could have a big change in the weather pattern. here is the latest forecast model showing you all the problems. all of these high clouds will be moving into the bay area by saturday night into sun day today, lots of sunshine out there at 3:00. 66 to 67 degrees. once that sun goes dowrntion it cools off rapidly. by 7:00, readings back down into the 40s to low 50s. here ace look at the numbers.

santa rosa, 67. san francisco, 62. hayward, 25 and san jose right around 65 degrees and a look hate with your extended forecast and your weekend always in view, lots of sunshine for your friday, into saturday, once again, up to a cold start, at least for the morning hours. we do thicken up the cloud cover on sunday with a chance of some drizzle showing up sunday morning and partly cloudy skies on monday. no rain clouds yet in this extended forecast but things will be changing. tory, it has been remarkable, the first half of january could very well be dry across the entire bay area. but some changes are developing now later in the month. >> we'll keep our fishings crossed. thank you, mark. after a six-week delay, crab season is about to be open. biologists delayed the opening because crabs to be caught are not ready. bay area crabbers have pulled

in as many as 7 million pounds since they started fishing. california has seen a surge in millionaires. there are 13,000 people with incomes of more than $1 million in 2010 up 27% from the year before. millionaires also reported the largest income increase among all other texas brackets with .8% and they also saw the largest tax increases of 1.5%. just ahead, a check on stocks and a new jobless numbers are not good but there is a reason. and an employer is setting up shop. the name is still not known but many think they know who it is.

stocks have turned around and are up in the final hour oftrading. there is an up swing in the unemployment claims. but strong bond option. the labor department this morning reported a jump in the number of new jobless claims last week. about 399,000 people filed for first time unemployment benefits. that's up 24,000 from the week before. the increase is nearly five times when economists had expected after temporary holiday jobs ended.

this morning, realty track said that the number foreclosure filings fell to a three-year low. realty track says that's not always because things are getting better but more of a delay. stanislaus to see 1500 new jobs from a company that's keeping its identity secret. the town is actually patterson. ground breaking on the 1 million square foot warehouse is expected to happen in september. >> we have been asked by the potential end user to keep their corporate identity confidential at this point. >> they promise to announce the company's name when the deal is signed. many are speculate that go amazon.com will use the space as a distribution hub.
