suspicious activity reported in this neighborhood recently. we just saw the person who owns this home try to wash his car and clean it up. steve dorothy shot this video. crews busting down the front door. they got the call at 4:30 this morning off sara court near i- 80 in pinole valley. a 24-year-old man and his girlfriend woke up because of a popping sound, glass shattering and then burning plastic. they jumped out the back window to escape. >> when he came out of the house, the fire was on the front door and then the porch area. nothing was inside the house.

it's suspicious. we have pinole police coming out to see if they have any suspicious activity in the neighborhood. >> now, police are now on their way to investigate. fire crews tell us the damage would have been less swef -- less severe if it if they had been -- if it had been known. just of a 10:00 last night police received a report of a shooting at 63rd avenue and macarthur boulevard. they found bullet casings at the scene and the victim on the next block. he was shot twice in the arm and he's expected to survive. investigators believe he was

this moving firefighterring are still on the scene -- firefighters are still on the scene of a fire in san rafael. it started last night at a 90- year old building. christien kafton has more on the cause. >> reporter: good morning. this is still under investigation. firefighters are still here. if you take a look on -- take a look -- take a look on the ground. you ski where a lot of their investigation has centered. you can see the back -- back deck there. i had a chance to see the deck. the fire started here around 7:30 last night and started in the back upper unit and quickly engulfed the whole building
