extending to every area including the east shore freeway and el cerrito but also for example antioch, pittsburgh and bay point, some tough driving there as well. it looks like a little bit of a delay starting in the cash lanes, let's go back to the desk. the rain is causing some problems for the morning commute. paul chambers joins us from the bay bridge toll plaza with more on how that looks, paul? >> reporter: actually as you can see before people start going to the toll things are running smoothly and the winter storm is causing problems at the toll plaza but the water has been causing problems. here is some flooding video from overnight on interstate 880 at the broadway off ramp

and give yourself some extra time in that area. now let's take a look at some video over here in berkley. this is interstate 880 westbound, there was an accident this morning and we are still trying to go the the details out but we know the accident happened in a car as rain pounded the area and two vehicles collided, a truck crashed into a concrete barrier where it will need to be repaired and replaced. that was cleared a few hours ago and you have to keep in mind, the roadways are very slick and very wet so give yourself some extra time. there are parts here where there is standing water which is happening here at the toll plaza and all throughout the bay area so give yourself some extra time as you head out this morning. paul chambers, ktvu channel 2 news. >> and we will talk with steve

in just a few minutes but we want to remind you, you can sign up for mobile ktvu channel 2 news. and we have developing news coming from oakland just a short time ago, a police s.w.a.t. team arrived at a standoff. lorraine blanco is close by as more and more streets are blocked off. good morning, lorraine. >> reporter: a half-dozen more police squad cars and trucks are arrived at brooks dale and oakland. you can see it right there and the standoff is a domestic disturbance. police tell us the man flagged down police around 3:00 a.m. and there are several dozen units including the s.w.a.t. team. earlier we heard police trying to negotiate with the man in

english and spanish and so far they have not been able to make any contact with him. they are not sure if he is armed or if he has any hostages and there are several blocks of roadblocked off on brook dale and a few more on cap. of course we will keep an eye on the situation and if there is anymore information, we will bring it to you. lorraine belongco channel 2 news. opening arguments charged with a fatal shooting of his san francisco sons. he is accused of killing a father and two sons. ramos admitted to driving the car but says he was not the gunman. ramos is an undocumented immigrant with an arrest record

but was never deported because of san francisco policies. 78-year-old accused serial killer joseph naso is on trial representing himself during the preliminary hearing in a marin county courtroom and is expected to enclosing statements this morning. naso is accused of killing four women with crimes dating back to the late 1970s. the dreams are over for the 49ers and it was a heartbreaking loss, giants jumped to the lead and outside tight end vernon davis, 9ers worked 14-10 in the 4th quarter and kyle williams knocked the punt allowing them to take a 17- 14 lead and tied it in and s the game into overtime. giants were able to kick field

backup and they switched the metering lights on and we'll see what happens then. and we are looking now at the contra costa area, highway 4, a little bit of slowed traffic 680 looks okay and if you are driving to the peninsular, highway 101, it looks like a brand-new crash just reported now on highway 101 at woodside road southbound 101 at woodside road, watch out for slowed traffic to start developing. 608, let's go to steve. north bay counterclockwise directions and ahead of that you are getting a southeast wind and rotating back around, that is what is happening right there and it is intensifying and we could get some thunder and it is rotating along the north bay, contra costa county heading off to the east and

880 and as steve mentioned, it will be windy later today but you can tell they are moving a around, not as bad as it has been doing later on. still some standing water in many places, let's move along and look at the westbound bay bridge, there are no major problems awe you make it to the bay bridge. i would go 280 but there are high winds a long 280 especially along crystal springs, let's go across the bay where 580 getting into livermore is heavy and we have had five fender-benders between livermore and cast tore valley, so use -- caster valley so use caution. some of the higher elevations the wind is also accompanied with rain and

possible thunderstorms are right there. this is live storm tracker 2 and you can see how it wrapped up, that is moderate to heavy rain, calistoga back to sonoma, napa heading southeast and southeast ahead of this system that will be calm are as it goes through and this is heading towards fairfield, it looks like american canyon, venetia, points east and southeast, you can get some thunder and lightning out of that and brief hail. 50s and 60s with a mild air mass as the system moves through, the first one that came by, the second one gave us a lot of heavy rain, 40s and 50s on the temperatures and santa rosa should start dropping and they will get the cooler air behind that and until then, they have windy showers possible showers mild temperatures and we will have sun and clouds and it will be a

. she became trapped and we are taking a look at this rescue because deputies were wearing helmet cameras. they hoisted her to safety and she was shaken but not hurt. the stormy weather we are getting is causing trouble on a lot of bay area roads and crews are still working to fix crumbling roads in oakland hills. now it collapsed near wild current road and it caused a water-main break and cut off service to dozens of people. in part of highway 1 in monterey county is shut down because of a rock slide and it's closed 25 miles south of the area and they are monitoring the situation where they have no time for a

and let's start first, christian captain you are at the san mateo bridge, what is it like out there. >> we just arrived about 20 minutes ago in dahly city, you may not see it too much but take a look on at approach to san mateo bridge, you can see the cars and there are some rooster tails out here and there are plenty of wet roadways in the bay area and commuters will need to know there is still plenty of wind to contend with. they have issued a wind advisory this morning and those winds combined with wet roadways could lead to a messy commute and chp is warning drivers to leave more time on their way to work. up in daily city, the rain caused all kind of problems including on the on ramp 280 north into san francisco chp

>> paul chambers continues our storm watch, paul, you are at the bay bridge toll plaza, how is it there? >> reporter: you can see behind me, the bay bridge is backed up right now and it will last about 30 minutes and high winds and standing water has been a problem here. here is some flooding video at 880 at the broadway off ramp in oakland. storms hit the area and the heavy rains we had overnight into the morning caused the flooding so give yourself some extra time in that area. it is very likely over in berkeley and wet areas involved a big-rig truck this morning and the accident happened just before the university exit off of interstate 880. the truck crashed into a concrete barrier on the right shoulder which will need to be repaired and there is a lot of standing water and some occasional gusts of winds and

you might want to leave a little early. watch your speed, back out here live, it is backed up right now and i will tell you some people are driving so be careful because roadways are slick and you don't want to cause any major accidents this morning. paul chambers, ktvu channel 2 news. there have been more than a few accidents. >> this is easily outpacing normal commute by at least three times so i want to add advise you again, leave the house early because you will have to wade through fender benders and flooding, then you get into pretty good territory, there is a wind advisory for the venetia bridge and also high winds on other bridges as well. if you are driving on 808 west

-- 880 westbound, it looks like a crash on the shoulder already and moving along to the east bay, 880 hayward, we have had a couple of fender benders, 880 near thornton, southbound near 101 northbound 280 right near the boulevard a crash there and on the peninsular 101 has been a little bit slow and i would suggest using 280 but watch out for some high winds there. the bay bridge is beginning to fill and those metering lights are going on as you get passed those. northbound 280 still looks good and again give yourself some extra time, there is a lot of flooding but with minor puddles an extra time is needed. monday morning, really intense for the north bay, that is giving us strong gusty

conditions, and also the lows going right over the north bay, over towards the delta and contra costa county, also in marin county and back to san francisco and we will have a look at this, watch how it wraps up. i would say it is in napa county, see the counterclockwise direction, that is a little system within the big system and that's giving us some very heavy rain. as it does, some possible thunderstorms and we have a northeast wind, a northerly breeze and watch the temperatures as they start to plunge and they are in the mid- 50s. rainfall totals, three inches of rain in the last 20 hours, 2.8 0, windy conditions there some downed trees and power lines, napa petaluma, after

and i already have a couple of fender-benders on side of the road but as we are getting closer to 7:00 you will see some traffic as a result of some crashes. let's look at the bay bridge toll plaza and you can see traffic is going to be a little bit slow. they have not turned on those metering lights just yet, oh i'm sorry they have turned on the metering lights and the backup, on a day like today it could reach the mcarthur maze because of a slowing on the bridge. this is a look at interstate 880 in oakland and you can see traffic is going to be a little bit heavy and it's a little bit windy out there. let's go out to the peninsular and we have had a couple of different fender benders and earlier we were getting something new every minute and there is a couple of things

coming on and crashes seem to have subsided just a little bit. 6:49 let's go to steve. thank you, sir, a very intense system moving to the delta and it is producing pretty good wind gusts at 50 miles per hour and a possibility of thunder showers from this. this will be the last in the series and watch as it wraps itself up. it is decreasing rapidly and west of the petaluma, you can see drawing taking place there but that's a very intense system right on the back of napa county, venetia cordelia and heading off to parts of eastern contra costa county. and the wind is cranked up and some of that cold air will come behind that system. once it gets going to the east we will get rid of a lot of

that shower activity and the winds are dealing with us as the air is very windy and it doesn't matter anyway. on the win, sun clouds and showers things should start to calm down across the border but 50s to near 60 degrees with this mild air mass in place sunny breezy on tuesday we will get rid of most of the clouds, upper 60s and #0s, it will be -- 60s and 70s, it will be cooler especially on sunday. a new report suggests timing is everything and passengers can get the lowest airfares if they buy their tickets six weeks in advance. now the study looked at millions of transactions and paid the low of the price if they buy their tickets six weeks before the flight.

because it has been shifting in the waters off the italian coast raising fears that the fuel tank may rupture and cause a massive fuel spill. 19 people are still missing after the disaster from last week and rescue crews did recover another body yesterday and the death toll is now 13. they are going to discuss the shooting of a suspect, he forced an 11-year-old girl from her home at gunpoint. police tracked him down to an apartment where he was holding the girl hostage. he opened fire on officers before he was shot and killed and the girl was rescued and not hurt and according to the family he was the ex-boyfriend of the girl's mother. tomorrow the pleasanton school board voted on a plan to

use drug sniffing dogs in parking lots locker rooms but only when students are not present. they would provide the service and do it at no cost but student drug use and alcohol- related suspendings are on the rise at high schools in pleasanton. coming up at 7:00, we will go back to check in on how the commute is going this morning. we have a crash which is on one of our cameras, dave and pam, this is 280 southbound and traffic is at a dead standstill and multi- car accident, you can see everybody is at a standstill and i'm sure they will issue an alert any time for this really busy commute 280 and 880 and northbound is also affected. let's look at the san mateo bridge, tough driving, wet weather as you head to the other side. and this morning's commute at the bay bridge toll place is
