here is a look at what patients will see at keizer today, lorraine? >> reporter: well we just spoke with a keizer representative and they tell us they have beefed up security and you can see a lot of barricades around the hospital as well as many new security guards around the facility. the last time national healthcare workers organized a strike, some patients had a difficult time getting in and out in a timely manner. mostly mental health and eye care professionals say the walkout is about getting better care through better staffing. the cough of its response to the strike could be used for patients and employees. >> it cost us $14 million for that up with day of work stoppage and we are anticipating this will be as much if not more to the particular work stoppage today.

>> reporter: they will be joined by thousands of nurses from the california nurses association and we will hear from them in about a half hour. back out here live they are just arriving and the strike is planned to start in less than an hour. reporting live in oakland ktvu channel 2 news. walnut creek keizer are getting ready to strike in walnut creek. things are expected to change in less than an hour. in all it will a fact 21 keizer hospitals statewide. it ended with a gas leak in a san pablo condominium. the crash followed a chase for suspected car thieves which started in penol.

the driver and her passenger ran away from the crash scene. pg&e tell us the people living in that condo complex are still without power. we will bring you a live update on all of this coming up in the next half hour. a ditch collapsed on a construction worker over the weekend and buried him alive. they tell us the man should not have been in that ditch in the first place, tara? >> reporter: this is now being treated as a possible crime scene, on saturday morning, a 37-year-old carpenter was working on a home and at so 30 testimony -- at 12:30 a 12-foot wall collapsed on him. it was too unstable to try to

save him. they were not able to pull his body out until late last night. we were told they were not even authorized to be working on the house. three days earlier they issued a stop work order because the i will side had not been sured properly but the work continued anyway. we learned the contractor left the country and is reportedly in china. osha has arrived and they are investigating and they could decide to file criminal charges. tara moriarty ktvu channel 2 news. well the city of oakland is hoping to avoid a repeat of the violent clashes that erupted between police and occupied pro testifiers over the weekend. some oakland streets looked like a war zone after protesters broke in and in all police arrested 400 people. now they will try to get stay

away orders from protestersers who have been arrested several times. two occupied d.c. encampments remain in place. the two camps are operated by the national park service and the service told protesters to take down their tents yesterday but that deadline passed and nothing was done. the 15-year-old boy facing murder charges for killing his parents will appear in alameda county court for his arrangement. moses cayman admitted to killing the couple who adopted him. moses cayman will be tried as an adult. the bodies of the victims were found outside their home in oakland. moses had been in the foster care system until he was adopted ten years ago.

mostly cloudy day. i heard the knock, thank you. mostly cloudy cooler temperatures local drizzle and this system will give us cloud cover and clearing tomorrow afternoon and five to ten day looks quiet and dry and a week from today will be the next opportunity for rain after tonight and tomorrow. a lot of cloud cover is persisting most of the day even though this is breaking through or showing signs of maybe clearing, there will not be much because higher clouds are racing out ahead. even if it clears the clouds will give us a mostly cloudy day and tomorrow morning is a possibility of mostly clear skies. timeline gives us fog drizzle and not too much fog on the deck some reduced visibility and a weak system will move

. traffic is moving well, no problems coming into san francisco, let's go back to the desk. florida has ordered an investigation, a huge crash has killed ten people. they will focus on the florida highway patrol and its decision to reopen interstate 75. now the road was closed more than three hours sunday after heavy smoke from a nearby brush fire and thick fog making the highway impassable. now the highway patrol defends

there are about 100 residents in the rancho complex where this happened. none of them were hurt but police are looking for the female driver and male passengers after the crash. apparently they took off running after the crash and it all happened at 9:00 last night. it started in penol, the police tried to pull her over because the vehicle came up stolen. they of the stated the pursuit and ended up crashing in san pablo. it ended up striking a gas meter and pg&e had to shut off the gas and some residents in the surrounding building were told to leave their homes briefly. did you look over there? those were the ones that were damaged. they can't turn the gas on again this morning until a city up expecter comes and makes

sure everything is structurally sound and okay but for now police are looking for the driver and male passenger in the car that caused all of this. allie rasmus ktvu channel 2 news. there is a new twist in the domestic violence case against sheriff ross mirkarimi. according to the chronicle, sheriff ross mirkarimi kept his wife eliana lopez isolated in their home for 18 hours after the alleged abuse. they say it was to keep eliana lopez from talking to police. eliana lopez went to a neighbor's house when sheriff ross mirkarimi got into the shower. both sheriff ross mirkarimi and his wife deny any domestic violence. police want your help to find a woman who may have been kidnapped. saturday afternoon, the two men were seen beating a woman and forced her into a car. it happened on bay shore boulevard. police searched the area and

he was arrested on false information and having his dogs off the leash. a spokesperson said he was trying teach residents about the leash rule. they will be closed because of a water-main break. it happened around noontime and that facility was on the boulevard and immediately closed for repairs. the building and all park restrooms should be back open again tomorrow morning. walnut creek will meet tomorrow to discuss a number of fights in the downtown area. we showed you exclusive video one sunday morning and another weekend of drunken brawls. one man was severely beaten and we will discuss a crackdown that is set to begin this weekend. there will be more police officers pat controlling the up -- patrolling the downtown area and they will keep a close eye

from our camera, there is about a 10 minute wait before you get passed the metering lights and also southbound, 880 passed the sunol grade and south bay. and the south bay is getting more crowded. when you start seeing the maps turning color it means the speeds are becoming slower. we have cloudy skies, a little drizzle and it will be a mostly cloudy day and after that things will calm down and the weekend looks good. the satellite does not do it justice but watch to the left of your screen. low clouds are streaming fast and it will give us a mostly cloudy day. although nichole said there is no drizzle in the marina. mostly cloudy by noon and there
