"mornings on 2" starts now. well, good morning. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. it's wednesday, february 1st. a flu outbreak has shut down the san francisco high school known as si. today's closure comes after 140 students from saint ignacious high got sick. tara moriarty is live with more. >> reporter: students are not going to be here. many of them are at home because classes were canceled. many of them are actually on facebook. we've been czech -- we've been

checking the posts and the theme seems to be, did it get to you? according to the high school website, 90 students went home early because they were showing signs of the bug. another 50 had already called in sick. the decision was then made to cancel classes at si today. health officials are expected to be here some time this morning. we spoke to a security officer who said last night extra sphaf was brought in to sanitize any surface students may have come into contact with. there are about 1400 students who attend this school. we're told the bug began four days ago. school administrators are telling students to stay home for three days after their vomiting has stopped or their fever goes away. all sports events have been canceled. class should resume tomorrow.

very noisy. we have a piece of the pipe. east bay m.u.d. spent the morning digging. they are now repairing a four- foot section of pipe line that they just lowered in there about two minutes ago. i asked the crews how they found the break and they said they found us. there was mud on macarthur plfd early this morning. we saw a few people -- they were dressed in what appeared to be their pajamas. probably a pretty sleepless night for a lot of them. -- they are waking up to an early morning. 11 customers, as i said, are

. nice ban for u.s. stocks after solid manufacturing data from around the world. it started with positive manufacturing data for china and europe and then was followed by a report that u.s. factories grew in january at the fastest pace in seven months. and i want to take a look at apple stock which started the day at an all-time high. right now it is up 21 cents at 456.69. taking a live look at the big board, the dow is currently up 137. nasdaq is up 27. s&p is up 13. american airlines may cut up to 115,000 jobs or 10% of their work force. reports suggest that the airlines will announce layoffs during a meeting today.
