>> this is the second scene, you can see investigators are still wrapping up. the ending crime scene happened here at this hotel phillips. a mail victim was shot at, that was the first crime and that happened in the city's tenderloin district. then they brought him to the hotel where somebody called police notified them thatted been shot in the back. the victim was taken to san francisco hospital where he was in stable condition. that's all the information police are releasing. i tried to talk to his friends and they didn't want to talk about what happened. the man was shot in the back transported by taxi to 9th and howard and then he was taken from this hotel, taken to the hospital where he is in stable condition and of course we will stay on top of this and bring

you the latest as it develops. channel 2 news. and a high-speed chase ended in san mateo. it closed the southbound lanes near popular avenue for about an hour. now the pursuit began in san pablo. the pursuit ended on the peninsular at about 12:30 this morning. speeds reached 90 miles per hour. the suspect swerve to avoid another car and rolled over several times. he was taken to the sanford medical center with minor injuries and there is still no word on what led up to that pursuit. this morning two people are in the hospital after a home explosion in san francisco. news news jessica moran joins us with new information of a man who lives in the home,

tara? >> reporter: they say they have been growing medical marijuana in the past but they were not growing in recently so he is not sure what caused the explosion. this is what the unit pretty much looked like right here and if you look next store, this did the unit where the explosion happened and there is just a huge gaping hole and the windows are boarded up down there in the bottom unit of the building. we just got pictures, it is video you will only see off of capital avenue. firefighters tell us the explosion happened shortly after 8:00 last night. it is very close to ocean avenue. the man we spoke to said he and his girlfriend and their 12- year-old son were in the bathroom, the girl was playing video games on the couch. the man stepped outside and the blast happened. there was a brief fire that

went out by itself and the woman and son were badly burned and taken to the hospital. we do know police were called to the scene for the possibility of a drug lab. we will stay on top of it and let you know if there are any he more details we can find out. police responded to amador street yesterday afternoon. he was wearing body armor and shooting a gun in the air at cars and at people. officers say he charged at them but the body armor was resistant to tasers. extra ammunition and more guns were found at his apartment. they fell short at last night's city council meeting.
