led to a shooting and then hours long stand' off in a south san francisco neighborhood today. john sasaki was there this afternoon and tells us how it all came to an end. >> reporter: officers from across san mateo county seemed to be everywhere. police told residents to shelter in place. >> i was shocked, we don't have too much happening in our neighborhood. >> reporter: it started on canal street. men went to the business where valasquez was recently fired to confront them. they started shooting. >> two shots were possibly fired. no one was injured. >> reporter: the four

men sped away from the scene. s.w.a.t. officers came down and locked down the neighborhood. valasquez was arrested. >> there was an arrest made. and that was as a result of assaulting an officer. >> the only other injury was severed by someone hit with a bat in the original incident. john says the other two men, they've also been arrested. >> that 200-acre fire in napa county is fully contained. investigators are looking to those who caused it will face penalties. crews were on the scene today mopping up hot spots. investigators say the fire broke out thursday when a pile of burning brush from a nearby vineyard got out of

in connection with that incident. >> we know the woman's name who was killed in a freak accident yesterday. nola wolf was with her family getting ready to take a zip line tour when a car sped off bohemian highway and slammed in to a waiting area, killing her. highway patrol is now investigating whether the car's 74 year old driver, thomas had a medical injury. prosecutor said in san jose say no charges will be pressed against a 91-year-old woman. leona fernandez drove in by mistake. an 80-year-old and 100-year-old were killed in the crash. >> california has one of the

largest number of traffic fatalities involving seniors. there were over 5,000 crashes. florida had the highest number followed by texas and then california. cities and counties, the study says, should be doing more to make driving safer such as offering driver education courses. a woman from pleasanton injured in a 9-car crash this week is expected to survive. maria guadalupe is recovering. she was in a pile-up on 101 on wednesday. three people were killed in the crash including another woman from pleasanton. the crash was likely caused by a suspected drunken driver reaching for her cell phone. >> responding to a negative
