i am ken where. >> i am heather holmes. >> new details, ktvu channel 2 news obtained with loren herzog. the video sheds new light on the crimes committed by loren herzog and wesley shermantine. loren herzog committed suicide last month, they were dubbed the "speed freak killers." and are believed to be responsible for 20 killings. investigators unearthed remains based on maps drawn by wesley shermantine. only on 2, amer lee joins us now with the tapes she has been sorting through. >> reporter: since friday i have been going through the videotapes that were given to us. they chronicle interviews that started on the day wesley

shermantine was arrested -- loren herzog was arrested. they document interrogations that take place over five days and he reveals more details. she showed detectives how wesley shermantine attacked a womb loren herzog was friends with. [ inaudible interview ] >> reporter: loren herzog paints wayne wesley shermantine as a cold blood killer. he said he killed as many as 24 people and admits he was with him for some of the crimes. he revealed the location of a abandon well that he called

loren herzog's bone yards. authorities unearthed 1,000 bones. wesley shermantine provided information that led to two bodies. on the tapes loren herzog claims wesley shermantine carried out the killing. 24 of last year. at jeffrey pettigrew's funeral, october 15a fight broke out and steve tausan was shot. police suspected steve ruiz of the killing and launched a manhunt. steve ruiz was located and arrested last night at a motel. triple shooting in san jose left a man dead. coming up, why last night's violence came as a surprise to witnesses. there are new details emerging on the saga of the supervisor. her husband, was given a sex tape of his wife and another man. this happened six weeks before an incident between the man and her at a hotel. that incident landed her in the hospital. the district attorney has not brought charges against anyone involved. the supervisor announced she has temporarily stepped aside from her post and entered rehab. reckless is how governor jerry brown described the republican presidential hopefuls. california republicans wrapped up their convention.
