old. police say it was a stabbing. they did find the suspect a few blocks away. a 20-year-old pittsburgh man, police tell me they do know each other. this is not a random act and charges are pending. police are out here on the scene. it happened at 9:00 last night. that is about as much as we can tell you. this is an open investigation and there are crime scene units on the premises. we will stay on top and bring you the latest as it develops. it is a day of action statewide as they protest budget cuts and called for education funding to be restored. it is followed by a noontime rally in march. similar demonstrations are planned acs u campuses and even -- at csu campuses. it is all to kickoff the rally

in sacramento which organizers are calling occupy capital. they have approved 485 notices for teachers administrators and other staff but they voted to spare 70 teachers at 14 under performing schools. now the teacher's union is criticizing the move and they are bracing for what could be more than an $80 million loss over the next two years. they sparked a lockdown, nobody was found despite an exhaustive search. maria saw a man holding a rifle after she picked up her 11-year- old daughter for an after school program. for an hour they sat in a locked classroom until the school was cleared. >> it was very stressful
