knew each other, the victim and the suspect. around 9:00 last night, officer the got a 911 call -- officers got a 911 call. once on the scene, they found an unresponsive female who had been stabbed. she was later pronounced dead on the scene. now, police have a suspect in custody. we're told he's a 20-year-old pittsburg resident. officers picked him up a few blocks away. this was not a random act. police say there have been many issues inside the home. once again, we can't show you the home because family has not been notified. he said there's been issues

there before as well. that's about as much as he wanted to tell us. he did not want to go on camera. we'll stay on top of this and bring you more as it develops. paul chambers, ktvu channel 2 news. an overnight -- in overnight news, a motorcyclist plum eted to his -- plummeted to his death in oakland. police think he was speeding to eastbound i-80. he lost control and went over the side of the highway. the area was closed. his identity has not been released. the victim met the suspect in a downtown santa cruz bar. after closing time, they all went back to the santa cruz in in like oak. at some point -- in live oak.
